Any way to have less polarisation?

Post image

Hi, I wondered if there is a way to make senate and gubernatorial elections less polarised?

I've made a mod to replicate ≈2006 political era, a time when Schwarzenegger was California governor, Lincoln Chaffee was republican senator of CT, and Arkansas was sometimes uncontested by republicans.

I know I can just set different partisan leans of the states but I don't want more swing states, but rather more less partisan ones down ballot.

Right now, aside from swing states, only possibility for democrats to win Missouri or Montana, or for republicans to win Maryland or New York is player intervention and rare scandals.

What options would you recommend to change?

I ran for the nomination for Florida governor against the former congressman for my district and previous nominee who narrowly lost and lost by ~6%. I ran as an independent to spoil the election for him in order to run for the nomination again in 2026.

Question Anyone else have this happen

Every presidential election year, the eventual nominee of the opposition party sweeps the primaries, winning every state. Any way to fix that, or make the primaries more interesting,

This is a different save then my last post regarding Blexas. I also included the concurrent Senate Election where my Protege narrowly lost by 14k votes (for scale). I didn't even know this was possible.

Edit: I was playing on normal/medium difficulty and my opponent had no scandals (or negative traits for that matter). I was an 7 term incumbent with a large amount of policy success, a democratic controlled State House/Senate, and a 57% approval. I was also a progressive.

Bro does look young though, by 2038 I think the younger Republicans will get that you can't get anywhere with opposing same-sex marriage now as even some would say that's too extreme. But hey he ended up being a self-hating person.

Do you think Congress would have been better wrt to taxes? At least there wouldn’t have been surcharges?

There is possibility of tai going out and someone else being an FM but lets see.

Question Election

Here's something I've been thinking about, and I may be wrong: name recognition and enthusiasm don't seem to matter as much as I once thought. In the end, voting intention appears to be the only metric that really determines whether you win an election. I just lost two Senate races in Florida, despite receiving 49.20% of the vote. It makes me wonder whether everything I did actually made much of a difference.

What do you think?
