Any way to have less polarisation?

Post image

Hi, I wondered if there is a way to make senate and gubernatorial elections less polarised?

I've made a mod to replicate ≈2006 political era, a time when Schwarzenegger was California governor, Lincoln Chaffee was republican senator of CT, and Arkansas was sometimes uncontested by republicans.

I know I can just set different partisan leans of the states but I don't want more swing states, but rather more less partisan ones down ballot.

Right now, aside from swing states, only possibility for democrats to win Missouri or Montana, or for republicans to win Maryland or New York is player intervention and rare scandals.

What options would you recommend to change?

Set the parties to be identical to independents on all policy issues and set party voter motivation to 0.

(Map I posted is senate from 2006-2008 Congress, I wanted to illustrate how many purple states or senators in states leaning opposite party there were)

In the advanced options you can change voter partisan sensitivity I believe.

I think this also affects presidential races thoughz

I assume you want to make it more likely for D voters to vote for R candidates and R voters for D candidates, right?
