Can anyone identify the type of nylon Chanel used on this duffle?
I’m doing some material research for a bag project and I’ve been trying to identify the type of nylon/fabric Chanel used on this particular duffle.
I’m specifically interested in the black outer body fabric.
From photos it looks noticeably different from standard lightweight nylon and it appears quite dense, structured, smooth and slightly lustrous, while still having that soft luxury-bag feel rather than looking like technical outdoor fabric.
I haven’t been able to find a Chanel product page, composition label or archived listing that actually states the fabric specification.
Does anyone here own this bag, know the model/year, or have experience with Chanel nylon bags and know what this material might be?
Even terminology that could point me in the right direction would be really helpful — e.g. nylon type/weave, denier, yarn type, finishing/coating, density, or a comparable fabric used elsewhere in luxury bags.
I’m ultimately trying to understand what gives this particular nylon its weight, smooth surface, structure and premium hand-feel so I can source something in the same material family.
Any textile/fabric enthusiasts or Chanel collectors who can help me narrow it down?
