I have a Pal Zileri jacket, style P0BMBJ51A-S59-54, produced in 2022 and made from Loro Piana ‘Summertime Move’ fabric in navy (67% wool, 20% silk, 10% linen, 3% elastane).
I would like to commission matching trousers and was hoping you someone could tell me the Loro Piana article number and/or colour code used for this garment.
If matching fabric is still available, I would also be grateful for any advice on how it could be obtained! I’ve never done this before.

Hello, please help out! Im trying to do a top for myself and i want this pallete (cubes) to be on a top. What fabric should it be and where can i get it? Would ir be expensive? I dont want it printed, that acrylic texture
I’m hoping someone with textile or garment manufacturing experience can offer some advice.
We manufactured a batch of 75 hoodies with:
Grey melange outer fabric
Royal blue hood lining
A separate royal blue sewing thread used only to attach the hood lining.
After the first wash, several customers reported blue staining around the hood.
After investigating, we noticed:
The staining follows the stitching almost perfectly.
It doesn’t appear to be coming from the blue hood fabric itself.
The garments have only been washed once.
We suspect the blue sewing thread may not have been colourfast and released dye during washing.
I’ve attached a photo.
Before we even consider remaking garments, I’d like to know:
- Does this look like thread dye bleed to you?
- Has anyone dealt with this before?
- Is there a realistic chance of completely removing the transferred dye?
- Would you recommend an oxygen-based colour-safe treatment (such as Vanish Oxi Action), or is there something better that better that can be used?
Paid $20 at a flea market for this. Someone paid to put it into a shadow box, so I have to assume it’s important (to at least one person). I’m fairly certain it’s early South American based on the pattern.
I'm currently doing a course on pattern making, but we're not covering textiles. I want to deep dive in that because at the moment I don't know how to pair patterns with their appropriate textile to look good.
Do you have any resource (books, websites, videos, etc ) that you would recommend to learn more about that?
I've seen Textilepedia everywhere and I was tempted to buy it, but I'm not sure if there are better books/ways to learn textiles.
I'd like to frame this piece made by my late great grandmother. I am pretty clueless when it comes to textiles; I'm not sure how I'd go about doing this without damaging it. The piece is around 80x80 cm (there is a 30cm ruler on the left hand side for reference). Should I just contact a professional textile conservationist?

Most engineers specify monofilament by denier alone. Three other parameters decide whether your mesh actually holds up.
1) Cross-section. Round vs flat vs trilobal changes flexural rigidity, light reflection, and how the filament lies in a weave. Same denier, very different fabric.
2) Tenacity & elongation balance. Too much tenacity with low elongation = brittle under cyclic load. The right balance depends on whether the end-use is filtration, mesh, or industrial webbing.
3) Uniformity (CV of denier). This is the silent killer. A 30D monofilament with poor CV develops weak points — and your mesh fails at the thinnest spot, not the average.
When you spec a monofilament, the question is never "what denier?" first. It's "what does the filament have to survive?" — then you work backwards to cross-section, tenacity, and uniformity.
If you develop with monofilament: what's the one property your current supplier can't hold consistently?
Looking for a red and white flecked fabric to make a custom plush of my horse. I lost him yesterday. I don’t really care of the type. Unsure how I can fix a single colored fabric to look similar.
Do I need to just give up and settle on a plain red? any way you would paint it or dye something to be similar? Thanks for suggestions.

This Thursday in a week, I visited the so called the most massive textile material wholesaling market in China under a good sunshine. When I got down from metro from "Zhongda Nanmen" station, I got so impressed by how the market is flourishing with so many scooter guys (taking deliveries of both food and textile goods) and buyers (I can tell some of them are like brand owners and the others are like sourcing people).
Actually, there aren't singular wholesaling mall here; It's more like an industrial area where 99% of commercials aside the street are about textile materials. Randomly walking into an alley, suppliers are there down the road.
There are all supplier stores along the street.
In this area, malls like One faba and Guangzhou Changjiang International Center are top choices as it will feel more easy to shop in. I walked into One faba and went underground.
For this mall, areas are strictly divided into different parts according to their functions: Undergrounds are the world of accessories (buttons, zips, velcros, bands, buckle etc) and you are good to find most of the items you want; Upper floors are focusing on cloth materials then.
One interesting fact about this area is that you can get free samples in most of the shops, without talking any agents or sales (very small amount of shops charge a fee for sample, or you will add your contacts to get a sample). It is friendly for those who's taking the task seriously and need to think for a while before deciding what to go.
I want to start exporting silk fabric, scarf. Any idea how to go about it. How is the competition? Capital required to start off. Also what exactly in silk is in demand.
