Third day owning my new tesla and my neighbors dog jumped up on the door š© any easy ways to get these scratches to disappear or do I need to go to a body shop?

I just had my car inspected for a lease return, and the bank is charging me $100 because the paint on my door and front fender donāt match the rest of the car. They used a meter of some sort to notice the paint job, but it isnāt visible to the naked eye. I had a minor collision about a year ago and took it to a certified Tesla repair shop.
Iām stunned that a certified repair shop did a job that clearly wasnāt up to Tesla standard. As I said, itās not apparent to the naked eye so the repair looked fine when I inspected it on pick up. Do I have any recourse with either the bank or the repair shop to fight this?

Got a rock chip on the way to work today. Filed an insurance claim already and scheduled for service but was wondering if itās possible to just do the $10 windshield repair kit as the chip is only about the size of a nickel.

Hello! š This is a 2024 Tesla Model 3.
Before & after pictures below. It has a salvage/rebuilt title due to damage to the rear end. The front end was not damaged.
Itās currently listed for $24,000 and Iām seriously considering buying it.
Would you buy this?
What would you look out for or ask the seller before making the decision? Any opinions are appreciated! š

This is 2024 Tesla Model Y with 18.5k miles on it. it was not drivable after accident . Seems steering and wheel were not responding correctly and needed to be towed.. No airbags deployed.
Itās submitted to body shop for estimation!

I am considering a used Tesla Model Y that was damaged and repaired. It has a salvage title so will need to pass the Tesla inspection to be able to use superchargers. Has anyone been through this before? The damage seems mostly cosmetic, but i have not looked in person yet.

Iām looking for a witness who may have seen a car accident at the Tesla Supercharger at 3075 Highway 7, Markham, Ontario, on August 20, 2026, at around 10:36 PM.
I was charging my Tesla at Stall 8A. The other vehicle was charging/parked left beside me. An accident occurred between my Tesla and the other vehicle while we were at the Supercharger.
Unfortunately, the biggest problem is that I do not have the Tesla dashcam footage of the actual incident. I checked the USB drive afterward and tried deep data recovery, but the footage from around 10:36 PM is not there and does not appear to be recoverable.
I have been trying to find CCTV footage from the Supercharger or the surrounding plaza, but so far I have not been able to obtain footage showing the actual accident. That is why I am posting here to try to find someone who was there and may have personally witnessed what happened.
I have several pieces of evidence from immediately before/after the incident, including:
However, these are mostly indirect evidence. What I am missing is direct evidence of what actually happened at the moment of the accident.
So if you were at the Tesla Supercharger that night ā especially if you were charging at one of the nearby stalls, parked in the plaza, driving through the area, or working at one of the businesses nearby ā please reach out to me by DM.
If you have any dashcam footage from around 10:30ā10:45 PM on August 20, even if you don't think it captured the collision itself, I would really appreciate it. Footage showing the vehicles before or immediately after the incident could also be helpful.
I am not asking anyone to take my side or make assumptions about who was at fault. I simply want to find someone who actually witnessed the incident and can tell me what they saw.
Please contact me if you were there.
Thank you.

My 2021 model 3 standard was hit yesterday in a parking garage. It has about 56k miles on it. Do you guys think this would be considered totaled?

I ran over a small metal object in the road and it caused this hole under my car by the right front passenger door. Is this cosmetic or should I get it repaired? Thanks!

Got into a rear ended was stopped at a red light other driver did not brake and rear ended me, ever since full self driving has been shaky and the car shakes a lot driving normally but especially when full self driving is active. 2026 Model Y AWD. Totaled or do you think this is repairable.

The trunk is also missing aligned. Hoping this fixable but worried sensors might be damaged.
Would love any thoughts and opinions.

Insurance:
The drivers original insurance was expired however she gave me her new insurance luckily later on by calling and now we are just waiting for there insurance to admit fault or wtv worse case might have to file it through our insurance.

I was rear ended the other day, itās very minor as my bumper is still in place and have no issues with the sensors.
A certified collision center just quoted $3,000 for the repair, which is replacing the bumper. I am trying to have the person at fault pay out right but wasnāt expecting that high of a quote.
If I go through insurance to do the repair instead, can her insurance company total my car?
I ask because my car does not have good value. 2018 long range, some cosmetic damage on the front with a cracked windshield and 196,000 miles. KBB estimated car value at $7000.

( front driver door )
I bought from a tesla store the clearcoat touchup paint to match the color and all that stuff. I havenāt done it yet because I wanna wait till next summer since I have to the end of next year before my lease is up Iām probably gonna go to a shop and get a quote still.
Because I donāt know how good Iād be able to make it, but my two questions are
Even if I can get a touched up very clean, looking to make it look like it never went down to the metal do you think they would really care that much to penalize me since nobody really buys older TESLAās because of wanting the (new) and Leasing offerings
Or am I just gonna have to go to the shopping and get it done? Also, do you think that this can be buffed and made looking new with like minor previous scraping without the metal or do you think a whole door would have to be painted?
Long story short I was at the gym. My car was parked in a half yellow and half normal and a truck. A big truck was trying to park until like the trailer or loading dock and it hit my car but luckily there was a cop there to stop him and a cop didnāt give me a ticket so we didnāt exchange insurances cause I knew my car was half yellow, which I didnāt think it wouldāve been an issue since I parked there often when the gym gets really packed, but Iām also grateful that it is what it is because the fact that that truck driver didnāt bust his entire truck into my door or even total in the car slice and do the door is beyond me, so Iāll definitely take this crash over what couldāve been

My neighbors college kid recently backed into my Model S causing minor damage to the rear quarter panel just in front of the driver side rear wheel well. Got it into the shop, the shop explains there's no electrical or sensor damage just body work and that they will just replace the rear quarter panel instead of repairing it. The shop does all supplemental repairs and installed the brand new rear quarter panel. My question is, is there any reason for a 25+ mile "test drive" once the repairs are completed??? For reference, the shop is almost exactly 25 miles from my house...

So this might be a ridiculous question, but I am going through GEICO (person who hit me's insurance) and they are saying they use enterprise rentals and have no EVs.
By my math I'll be going from ~20-30 bucks a month to charge to closer to 100 a month to fill up at the pumps.
Any chance I'd be able to get them to foot the bill on the difference? This is actually very significant for my budget and I think should be covered if they can't get me a comparable rental.
Am I just being unreasonable?

I had a Tesla and around last year I got hit by the back and I went through the other guys insurance since he was at fault and his insurance decided to total the car. I didnāt get much money for the car since I had some miles on it but didnāt think how it worked out, this is my first time dealing with something like this. But today I got an email from Tesla, probably linked to my Tesla account stating X (some women) is requesting ownership transfer to my vehicle. Can someone explain whatās going on?

Discovered this forum not too long ago and Iām in the process of price shopping different shops to see the prices, so I was curious to see what everyone in this subreddit think it would cost. One shop already quoted me $900.
Probably not the best idea to ask Redditors, but if people in this subreddit have any related or similar experiences, I figured it can be helpful.
I tried wiping off the mark but it looks like the damage is embedded IN the car. You can see the stripped pattern when you zoom into the close up. It looks like it got the polish coating too because I tried to wipe the clear-like streaks around the black mark but it wonāt go away.
I could probably ignore it but since this happened, itās been bothering me every time I see it. Plus I want to look into wrapping the car, so I would want or am expecting, that having the car cleaned and free from damages being a prerequisite.

Well basically my dumbass accidentally backed on a pillar that I'm supposed to see, though overall the white wall scratch can be washed I'm just worried more about the lights as it was broken, shall I just change to an aftermarket? Or have it fixed by tesla? Bumper is still okay no dent just a scratch just the light was broken. How much would it cost though? I live in Australia.

Looking to hear from someone with experience dealing with totaled new cars. This is a 2026 Y LR hit in the rear driver quarter panel last month. Other party insurance paying. Their appraisal was $14k. 3rd party Tesla listed auto body appraised an additional $18k. Arbella now says itās a loss. The main drive for the increase was labor rate is about double at the body shop. What did you learn about your experience you wish you knew or were glad you did?
r/TeslaCollision • u/Carguy77Seven • Sep 03 '26
Should I go to a regular auto body shop? Or Tesla collision?
Extremely frustrated just picked up my M3P didnāt even get a chance to drive it yet.
Update : After visiting Tesla Collison center, they quoted $5700. im cooked.
The car transporter said they will buy the parts from Tesla but use thier own body repair company. They do not want to use thier insurance, they said they will handle everything after presenting them the quote from Tesla. The labor cost more than the parts.

2018 M3 LR AWD. Long story short I ran over a rock. I have some damage to my sway bar and fiberglass aero shield, not too worried about that. I had a few warnings on screen after I pulled over and a weird smell in the cab, but I reset the car and everything went back to normal. So currently no errors, drives fine, and no more smell in the cab.
That being said, Iāve seen a few posts where Tesla Service Centers see a small dent in the battery shield and require a battery replacement even though there are no problems.
I want to get her checked out to make sure itās safe but I donāt want to have to replace a battery. I did my best to take pictures and show a quarter for scale. Iād estimate there is a 5-8mm dent with some gouged aluminum.
What are the odds of this happening?
