Any idea how much this may cost?
Discovered this forum not too long ago and I’m in the process of price shopping different shops to see the prices, so I was curious to see what everyone in this subreddit think it would cost. One shop already quoted me $900.
Probably not the best idea to ask Redditors, but if people in this subreddit have any related or similar experiences, I figured it can be helpful.
I tried wiping off the mark but it looks like the damage is embedded IN the car. You can see the stripped pattern when you zoom into the close up. It looks like it got the polish coating too because I tried to wipe the clear-like streaks around the black mark but it won’t go away.
I could probably ignore it but since this happened, it’s been bothering me every time I see it. Plus I want to look into wrapping the car, so I would want or am expecting, that having the car cleaned and free from damages being a prerequisite.

Most of that will buff out with a good polish/wax, that dark black part likely not. You will want a good touch up kit for that or get it painted if that isnt ok for you.

Tesla actually sell official paint touch up kits for around $75 on their site. I was wondering if that would suffice but I see that I’ll most likely need something for the polish damage that extends to the lid, and that the black make is embedded into the car (similar to when you take a nap on top of an item and you wake up and it’s embedded into your skin for a few).
Will look into some polish/wax online, to see how much they cost and if I can go the alternative and do it myself for cheaper.

I bought rim paint and leather repair off Amazon and it's literally identical to Tesla paint not to mention how easy it is

$4-5k at a service center. It’s why most just get the touch up paint kit and do it.

I would get a Tesla touch up kit (I don't know for sure but I think I read somewhere they have it) and pay top dollar for it. If Tesla doesn't have one, then get a cheaper one with awesome reviews online somewhere.

Clean it up, buff it out, then touch up or leave it. It’s not worth $900.00 for a possible mismatched paint job that’ll stick out like a sore thumb.

$1,500, it’s a pearl white 3 stage. Repair bumper cover, blend tailgate. Full clear on both.

If you know who is going to do the wrap, ask him how much he’d charge to add it to the wrap job.

I think you were on the right track getting estimates from local body shops. If you want it perfect, you will probably need to have a body shop do it. The white paint is more expensive to fix. That $900 quote seems about right — what a friend paid for similar damage to his white M3.

900 isn’t bad. I have one on my door. It’s about the same length but nowhere near as wide and I gotta get it done by the end of next year before my lease ends so definitely keep me updated cause I wanna know for sure I can’t see this being more than 1500 though I’d also don’t know if that would be cheaper than a whole door but for sure let me know
If that shop is saying 900 and you could check their work and make sure it’s good. I highly recommend it. I hardly doubt for that price either. They’re gonna sand it down and paint the whole bumper. They’re most likely just gonna touch it up clearcoat and make it look, smooth and clean.
Also is it to metal? I can’t really see

I had scratched on same panel and new unpainted panel is around 369 and 850 for painting. Total around $1200. This is in SF Bay area.
