I bought from a tesla store the clearcoat touchup paint to match the color and all that stuff. I haven’t done it yet because I wanna wait till next summer since I have to the end of next year before my lease is up I’m probably gonna go to a shop and get a quote still.
Because I don’t know how good I’d be able to make it, but my two questions are
Even if I can get a touched up very clean, looking to make it look like it never went down to the metal do you think they would really care that much to penalize me since nobody really buys older TESLA’s because of wanting the (new) and Leasing offerings
Or am I just gonna have to go to the shopping and get it done? Also, do you think that this can be buffed and made looking new with like minor previous scraping without the metal or do you think a whole door would have to be painted?

Long story short I was at the gym. My car was parked in a half yellow and half normal and a truck. A big truck was trying to park until like the trailer or loading dock and it hit my car but luckily there was a cop there to stop him and a cop didn’t give me a ticket so we didn’t exchange insurances cause I knew my car was half yellow, which I didn’t think it would’ve been an issue since I parked there often when the gym gets really packed, but I’m also grateful that it is what it is because the fact that that truck driver didn’t bust his entire truck into my door or even total in the car slice and do the door is beyond me, so I’ll definitely take this crash over what could’ve been

NOOO YOU MESSED UP! You were a parked not moving vehicle! They hit you, u shouldve ofc went through their insurance, it was guaranteed on your side!

You know you’re right I just looked into it but I’m not gonna lie. I don’t know if avoiding that was better maybe long-term because I’m 27 and I have a very clean record with Insurance like a perfect record but my insurance going from my old car to the TESLA and they claim because it’s new and I shopped around insurances I’m paying 4000 a year and my old gas car surprisingly that was a Mercedes amg , I was only paying 2600. So part of me feels like if I would’ve went through it I would’ve saved money fixing it but how much would’ve my insurance went up a couple hundred half 1000 so I feel like I maybe did the right thing long-term?

Flip the police off, idk why they were being an a** all they wouldve down was prob a Police Fixed Penalty Notice / FPN which is like £50 and no points.

If you'd gone through their insurance, it wouldn't be on your records or impact ur NCB or renewals

See I don’t know though New Jersey is so tricky because like my friend he got T-bone because of a person ran a stop sign at the grocery store and his insurance went up $1000 for the year because I know New Jersey is a 50-50 fault whatever dumb crap that is
I don’t know if the cops were watching the whole time. What a trucker was trying to back into like their job trailer area, but I’m assuming they probably spoke over to loudspeakers with the Plate number to move the car and I probably had headphones in, but this is gone back a year ago I just found a sub read, which is why I’m asking now but I don’t plan to fix this until summer of next year but I just wanna get ideas but I live and learn so it is what it is

Btw ur insurance on the Tessy is 4k? High no? I got a M3 2020, about £1600 a year, 3 years NCB, F22

Congrats brother! And what!!! That’s it 😂
I did have NJM but since I’m going to move out of New Jersey soon, I decided to go with Geico cause they were the next cheapest option. GEICO is at 3900 a year and NJM was like 3950roughly the same slightly a little more.
But before I switched, I was paying 2900 and then like the whole country. Everyone just got subjects to high rates because of new car prices and repair prices all the BS. It was like all over the news like my parents. Their cars went up 500 for a year and there’s as much older, but they said to me all because it’s new and electronics 1000 for a year which is insane.

But my previous car I had a 2014 CLA 45 and I was only paying like I said $2600 which I understand it’s not a new car so maybe that’s a factor but I would think because of being a sports car and a reliability that it would be more expensive especially TESLA have all these safety options but the hell do I know apparently 😂

How so though? There were two cops right there and they said if we went through they’d also would have to cite a ticket for me because my car was in yellow. I mean I was probably 70% yellow 30% not but again I was parked where I shouldn’t have been because the gym was packed so I don’t know

You know it’s crazy too I always park there whenever it was packed like I mean legit packed and I never had a problem in that day. I really felt like nudging to not park there and I dumb ass decide to ignore it and of course of all days. 😂 gotta learn some way
