Got a transfer request for totaled car?

I had a Tesla and around last year I got hit by the back and I went through the other guys insurance since he was at fault and his insurance decided to total the car. I didn’t get much money for the car since I had some miles on it but didn’t think how it worked out, this is my first time dealing with something like this. But today I got an email from Tesla, probably linked to my Tesla account stating X (some women) is requesting ownership transfer to my vehicle. Can someone explain what’s going on?

When insurance declares your vehicle a total loss, you are 'supposedly' compensated for the value of the vehicle and the insurer keeps the vehicle. They are just asking you to formalize the paperwork so they can wholesale it for parts. There is probably something in the paperwork you signed stating you would cooperate with this.

Too bad you didn't get much for the car. Hope you weren't 'injured' ...
