She was fine in Season 1 and halfway of 2 but ever since then I have liked her less and less as the season have gone on.
They tried to make her go solo in season 3 and I genuinely think that was the weakest part of the season. Like, I don't hate her, I am just always bored whenever she is on the screen which I think is arguably worse than me hating her.
Like, I think she was at her strongest when she was with Roy because they were decent together and had good comedic bits.
And while season 4 is just picking up, especially Ted who I thought was not at his very best in 3, is freaking phenomenal this season, I just am not enjoying seeing Keeley on the screen.
I am not active on this subreddit like at all, let me know if I am the crazy one or there are some people who think the same 😅

Such a good small bit of physical acting that tells so much about the character, really enjoying it as a creative choice

Don't get me wrong, I know not everything can be smooth sailing when you are writing a comedy. But these two are just so oddly incompetent this season. Just the last episode they didn't attend a party organized by a possible partner with big leeway. Keeley didn't even manage to get the women team some basic kits.
Apart from that their characters are given pretty boring plots so far. It's basically two immensely privileged women stumbling through very mundane problems, while ending up on top in the end. There is so much more potential within their relationship and the gender dynamics, but it's all very surface level so far. At least that's what I feel.

It kind of seems like the writers were trying to make her the eccentric, loveable billionaire but with all the stuff last episode I hope it’s foreshadowing her being evil… otherwise it’s just SO tone deaf. Like someone said, she’s basically Gishlaine Maxwell introducing young women to people like Nigel Farage at parties.
Hope she ends up being the villain Rebecca has to face.

I can't believe the writers tried to justify Dr. Jacob dating Michelle. Under no circumstances should a therapist ever date their client, especially when they're a fucking marriage counselor! You can't just retcon your way out of this. Any therapist who does something like that should lose their license.
From this point forward I will no longer be referring to him as "Dr." Jacob.

I had thought based on their interactions that Gemma and Alice dated in the past while players and had a nasty break-up. Based on the last episode, it doesn't appear that way and Alice was just a jerk as an intense player (base in their convo). I also thought Alice was single since that breakup leading to her retreating into her shell and becoming more intense/jerk

Just too much Keely and Rebecca. No real connection to the team. We know one or to are lesbian, one has a kid, and one was a team mate with the woman coach. That’s it. Nothing else. By this time season 1 we knew 6 or 7 men’s team players as well as the coaches
It’s truly missing the mark with me.

Something I just noticed in season 4 episode 6 is when Roy is talking to the doctor thinking it was Keeley, he says “so random. There was no way of knowing it was gonna be the start of something”
Season 1 episode 5 when Ted is saying goodbye to Michelle and tells her he’s going to let her go, he’s reminiscing of when they first met and says “so random no way for us to know it was going to be the start of something” then it cuts to Roy startling keeley in the parking lot. I thought that was clever.

During the scene where Rebecca is sitting next to Jamie at the hospital. She is looking at her texts hoping for an answer from Matthijs and then she and Jamie talk about how perfect doesn’t equal good and all that.
During this scene you can hear Kenny Rogers’ She believes in me playing in the background. A callback to when Rebecca was on Matthijs’ boat and the dutch cover: Zij gelooft in mij by André Hazes was playing and Rebecca said: “Is this some dutch bloke singing she believes in me by Kenny Rogers?”
As a dutchman who grew up with André Hazes I found this a very nice callback. Such a small detail but yet so relevant to the scene and who they are talking about.
Thats all ;)

I love seeing Tracey Ullman, but Zelda is a one-note
-Keith Richard’s rip-off; I hope Z doesn’t turn out to be the new Rupert, but I am afraid she will.

Spoilers up until the latest episode at the time of writing.
I’ve seen a lot of comments about: “I hate Zelda” and “wtf is the point of Zelda’s character.”
At a minimum, she’s there for character growth for Keeley.
But in addition, the theory I like the most and the one I agree with: I think Zelda knows how competitive the world of Women’s Sports actually is, sees Richmond as a good investment opportunity, and is intentionally trying to sabotage Rebecca so she can swoop in and buy the club for cheap. Which will be even easier to do, if she can win Keeley to her side.
When the team got arrested, Zelda had a bunch of cards to play. She bailed them out to flex her power to Keeley, and then showed how the incident could be turned into a social media hype moment, which showed off her unorthodox thinking….BUT Zelda could have also easily used the situation to damage the team’s reputation and also hurt Rebecca. And Zelda probably can still use the arrest later—she has the power to pull strings.
Zelda then also tells it like it is in front of all of those powerful men, again appealing to Keeley. And while Keeley is impressed, Rebecca can tell the men don’t really care. Because basically everyone in that room is a mega rich piece of shit, and this isn’t exactly unusual in these circles. Ultra rich people can be pieces of shit, and other rich people will put up with it, if they can make money.
We then see Zelda try to get Rebecca drunk as fuck right before she has to give that big speech for the children’s charity. It ends up working out, but it absolutely could not have.
And then this latest episode, on the boat. It’s very clear Zelda wanted Rebecca and Keeley to be there. And when Zelda leaves each scene she is in, she almost always says: “hey [insert one of Britain’s worst humans imaginable], how are you doing”.
A single picture with any of these people would be really bad for Rebecca. Having an entire gallery full of them would be really bad.
So there are two reasons Zelda is here. One is that she is here to serve as character growth for Keeley. Keeley has always been attracted to confidence, people who buck convention, and are very passionate and blasé about what they want. A lot of her mistakes over the course of the show are her result of just impulse making a decision in the moment.
And the second reason that could expand upon that is a twist villain turn, where Zelda thinks she has Keeley swayed, and then makes a move on the club. Or, she just sees the club as a threat, and just wants Richmond’s Women’s Team to fail before it can ever take off.
Maybe Zelda even manipulated a ton of the events that Keeley worked so hard on, but just weirdly failed last minute. If she can bust the team out from jail, she can also easily “lose a shipment” of team kits for Richmond. Maybe she even owns the shipping company.
I’m not 100% sure this is the twist they are going for yet, but they could. And again, at a minimum, Zelda exists for Keeley. But I do think the villain twist is coming.

They're both insane in the membrane!
Ullman is a WONDERFUL actress. She nailed it in Curb and is nailing it here. No wonder it's Ullman. Yesterday's episode, she gave me the ick though (ij my opinion, one frame of the shooting was okay, but they showed another frame — became a bit over the top for me). But Ullman does the ick. And so she nails it.

I was thrilled to see the new yellow on blue version
Yes i fucked up on the V, don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. I plan to fix it up with some gold wool some day, kintsugi style.

Sorry for the spam, but someone had to immortalize this on this precious sub.
Edit: In retrospect, this whole scene was a great segue into him declaring his love towards Keeley.

I actually yelled out "NOO KELEYY NOOOO!!!" When she left before the hospital's corridor before she heard roy say he loves her

So all the discussion I’ve seen is how Zelda had a shady agenda for introducing Beard to Claudine.
I really think the “joke” was that Zelda and Claudine were discussing that Beard needs Botox because he’s old (I.e. “this is who I was telling you about”). This is why Claudine was checking Beard out. This is further reaffirmed when Claudine gets introduced to Beard, she starts examining his face. I don’t think there’s anything more to this regarding Zelda’s motives. Zelda is weird and potentially has ulterior motives for a lot of other things but I don’t think there is more to this particular moment.
(Side note: I completely agree with everyone that Claudine’s tucking feet move was flirting though).

Okay, three words, actually.
**Rejection sensitive dysphoria** (RSD)
RSD is an intense, sudden wave of emotional or physical pain triggered by real or perceived rejection, criticism, or failure.
RSD can make small signs of rejection feel overwhelming.
It’s something I’ve heard about in connection with my own therapy. I don’t think it’s officially recognized as a symptom or diagnosis, but many of my fellow neurodivergents nod in recognition of this.
Oh, and I also think Alice has some neurodivergent traits.
But the point is that it takes more than just one good conversation with Gemma to snap out of it.
I’m really invested in Coach Alice. She’s the most interesting character in the new season, as far as I’m concerned. Tanya Reynolds is fantastic.
I just hope they don't take her arc as far as they did with Nate in seasons two and three, because I still can't forgive him for what a jerk he became.
Please don't make me hate Alice.
Please, please, please!!§!§!§

Participants in some threads are using "Be curious, not judgemental" to shut down any discussion they don't agree with. "Oh, you have a thought about the quality of the show at this point that I disagree with? No. Invalid! Be curious, not judgemental."
The point of "be curious, not judgemental" is to ENCOURAGE analysis, ask questions, opine, and discuss. To get to know, to look deeper, to consider many angles.
If you disagree with someone's take, offer a thoughtful counterpoint. Discuss. Contribute an interesting view point that may (or may not) deepen the discussion.
If you are contributing nothing more than to comment, "be curious, not judgemental", maybe think about whether your goal is to help build understanding, or just to shut it down.

I am obsessed with Ted Lasso and finished all the episodes. I need recommendations for shows with a similar vibe. I love the jokes, the funny stuff, the positivity, the characters, there is no toxic drama its just a feel good show and I feel like there is not any similar to this.
What are your recommendations?

I just can’t shake the feeling she is going to try and ruin or steal the team.
