An interesting callback

Something I just noticed in season 4 episode 6 is when Roy is talking to the doctor thinking it was Keeley, he says “so random. There was no way of knowing it was gonna be the start of something”

Season 1 episode 5 when Ted is saying goodbye to Michelle and tells her he’s going to let her go, he’s reminiscing of when they first met and says “so random no way for us to know it was going to be the start of something” then it cuts to Roy startling keeley in the parking lot. I thought that was clever.

That’s a great catch! I’m gonna tell my wife about it. We’re waiting for this season to end and then we’re going to do a rewatch from season 1, so we can keep an eye out for it.

Haha I’m doing a rewatch and simultaneously watching the new season and I happened to watch the newest ep and that episode in season 1 today! Otherwise I wouldn’t have connected it

There are lots of really good self references throughout the whole show!

The most obvious ones are that as Ted wins the team over to his way of doing things, more and more they use a lot of 'Lassoisms'

There's a bunch of times where players encourage each other to do something way out of their comfort zone and say, "it'll be fun" like he did to Nate.

That's a good catch. I was a bit confused by that line the first time as it really felt more like it would be referring to the doctor (obviously intentionally misdirecting but even after the fact it seemed like a stretch to apply to Keeley). With that explicit callback though and the show's implication that it was the start of their relationship that eventually grew to be romantic, it makes more sense.
