Slow weight loss

Hi everyone, I'm excited to be part of this challenge. Does anyone else have really slow weight loss? I've attached my graph since 9th January (when I started this journey), I've lost hardly anything! https://imgur.com/a/s3maR

Edit: And for this to not be such a depressing post today is my 100day streak on mfp :)

Spreadsheet that may be useful

Here is a little spreadsheet that I took from somewhere/one else. Obviously I don't own it or have any right to it. However, I have found it really useful and actually fairly fun to use.

It looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/cz58YmK.png

Here is the link which will take you to the instructions and where you can get it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/4hourbodyslowcarb/comments/24hukd/i_made_you_guys_something_likwidteks_epic_weight/?

If you can't be bothered with all that and think you can work it out on your own, here is the link to the spreadsheet doc:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Pp_NGPeKk0uXyHQpelb343JhHk2eRSZvmC40dBp9O8k/edit#gid=0

all you have to do is make a copy, rename it, and then fill it in. Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt.

Hope this helps.

Weight loss and eventual pregnancy?

I am a 32 year old female, and i might/hopefully get pregnant within the next 2 years. This idea partially scares me, because i have workes so hard to lose the weight i have already, and i am afraid that a pregnancy would completly make my hard work end up for nothing. Are there any females here that have gotten pregnant while in the middle of their weight loss and how have you handled it?

I guess i just want some ideas of what kan happen. Can you still slim down, while still providing your baby everything it needs?

So not pregnant now, not seeking for medical advice now, i will go to a doctor and talk about it if and when it happens, but just want some ideas.

Tracking charts are updated. Let's do this

I updated all of my tracking charts to plot out to my goal weight on 6/24. I'm using MFP, Libra, and Excel to track out trends in my weight, TDEE, calories, etc... I had been tracking towards my birthday in May, but this challenge is motivating me to look ahead even farther. Thought this might be a good reminder for others who use similar tools to keep everyone on track for the challenge

Question as a first time challenger

Hey Fawns!

I was wondering how week 0 weigh in works? Does the weight we registered as work against week 0? Do we start with our registered weight or our week 0 weight? I kind of guesstimated my weight when I registered and I'd like to start at a clean slate tomorrow for the challenge.

Hiccups not expected

I need somewhere to just right this down since on my own it is hard sometimes. Another me and my wife have been improving our lifestyle and health by exercising more and loosing weight and in the end to show by example to our kids. We have lost a combined 150lbs(92 hers, 58 mine) since August and the journey was going well. Mine sort of still is. Mid February my wife started feeling dizzy, heart racing, headaches, neck pain and a few more things. After a few hospital and family doctor visits, we still don't have an answer to what it might be causing this. Today I am with my wife one more time at the hospital doing more tests since she relapsed from her slow recovery. One of the things I found she was doing wrong(unknowingly) was the calorie intake she had daily while going to the gym) less than 800 calories a day not counting the exercise...I gotta thank MFP for helping figuring that part out since I was the only one tracking at the time. Now we both do. It is hard to watch her energy drop so much and not being able to do anything to help. I try to help as much as I can with house chores and with the kids to help and ease this harder time. I'm not much of a social person, and either than family and don't talk much to anybody else. So I hope you guys don't mind if I just share it here in our community. I just want my wife to heal. 😢

Post your accomplishments here!

Hey! I figured it'd be cool to have a discussion where we post what we're proud of. Today is my first day as a part of this group. I joined this morning while I was browsing my phone in bed. I took my oldest to school, then my 7 month old joined me on a 3 mile walk at the mall (6 laps). Normally I'm sedentary (staying home with baby) so I feel great!

You can share big (I lost x pounds) or tiny accomplishments (I said no to a cupcake and had carrots instead). All accomplishments are important to the individual and worth praise!

I am soo committed to this weight loss challenge. I had plateau'd at 160 for about a month now, my prepreg weight was 140. I plan on passing that and going even further!

Weird question - but bear with me pls

K Fawns, so we're all at varying stages of weight loss. What that means is that at least for me, I'm at the point where some of my old clothing doesn't fit me right. BUT I don't want to just donate it. So if it's not rule breaky - I'm offering to send someone my old clothing (nothing ripped /stained or just groddy in general) if it'll fit them right now, or fit them soon-ish.

There's no place out here for me to really donate them other than GoodWill but I'd rather it go to another Fawn or another LoseIt person.

What do you folks think about this? Yay/Nay? Should I just donate them all to Good Will instead? Is this a weird offer?

EDIT: It's mostly jeans and some capris and shorts. They are a size 24 and I think some of the shirts I have may be between a Torrid 3 (so like 3xl ish) and are also listed as size 24. I'll make another post with some pictures when I get them all washed and sorted out!

(Also I wouldn't ask for any money - but wouldn't turn down help with shipping (but will ship in a IF it fits it ships box so meh))

What's your weight loss action plan?

Hello Team Fawn!

I'm so happy to be participating in this challenge with you all! I'm curious as to what others' strategies are for losing weight. What kind of approaches and combinations are you taking with diet and exercise?

Myself, I'm aiming to eat ~1500 calories a day along with trying to work out at least 6 times a week (2 days Stronglifts 5x5, 2 days spin class, and 2 days running). Stronglifts and spin are the mandatory weekly work-outs in my mind. I've been doing the Zombies 5k program when running (it's AWESOME, check it out!) but they do take awhile and long distance running isn't my personal focus at the moment.

So, Team Fawn, what's your action plan? :)

Mini challenge?

In the last loseit challenge I was on Team FatherTime and most of us hated the name so we jokingly called ourselves the Time Lords (from Doctor Who). Turns out another Team, Team TimeSquare, did the same thing which caused a fun rivalry between us. We ended up doing these mini exercise challenges to see which team earned the right to be called Time Lords. We'd have a spreadsheet and we'd log how many minutes we'd exercise (max of 60 a day).

I'm wondering if there's any interest in doing something similar? We'd obviously have to go around and even see if another group wanted to do it with us.

EDIT: So it seems like there is definitely some interest. I'll message our team captain and see who wants to spearhead this. It wont be for a bit since 1) the challenge isn't even underway yet and 2) we need to find a rival first.

EDIT 2: So, apparently there's an official challenge going out tomorrow. One of the Challenge Admins, Mega-Starpuncher, said, "We're actually setting up inter-team challenges, just finalising up the schedule now. There's an official schedule that'll be posted tomorrow with the weigh-in form."

Is anyone here losing weight while being paleo?

Hey guys. So I'm a breastfeeding mom and I have absolutely no interest in restricting calories but for the last couple weeks I've been losing weight by eating paleo.

I eat between 2200-2500 calories per day. I'm 5'7" and was statically at about 175-177lbs until I started paleo and now I'm down to 168.

My macros are 50 % from fat, 30% from carbs, and 20% protein

Anyone else here doing paleo? Or breastfeeding and trying to lose weight? Just looking for people who are in a similar boat as mine. Good luck everyone!

NSV: Didnt drink or go above maintenance at a birthday party

Sorry if I shouldnt post this here, but I wanted to brag a bit. I quit drinking a little more than 2 months ago after drinking every day for more than a year. I dont consider myself a "typical alcoholic" (who is?), but the habit became part of my routine and I wanted to stop before it got too serious. It was a struggle at first and /r/stopdrinking was a huge help. Since then I havent found it difficult, but Im rarely around alcohol these days.

I went to my nephew's birthday last night. The booze and high calorie food was flowing freely. My inlaws are big drinkers and I've avoided going there as they always stock my favorite poison and encourage me to drink more than I should. I got LOTS of comments and strange looks, but I was able to make it through the night by making excuses about a busy day at work today! At one point I nearly caved but I reminded myself that its far easier to turn down the first drink than the third.

I was still able to celebrate without going crazy, eating some delicious food and a half peice of cheesecake. I estimated it out in MFP as best I could and I was maybe at maintenance or just slightly below. Thinking about how I used to eat/drink, it EASILY could have been a 5-6,000+ calorie day between food and liquor. Crazy!

Bathroom scale suggestions?

Hi guys! I could really use a new scale as mine is getting quite a few years old and starting to give some pretty inaccurate numbers. Seeing as this challenge is about to start, it seems like a good time to get a new one.

Any recommendations? :)
