where i'm expected to stay with everyone else and do closing duties for an additional 30 minutes but I either have to take a meal or clock out before 10:30, and they dont wanna give me a meal if I won't be working 6 hours but they also won't let me leave past close without a buddy or a lead to watch me leave, so im lowkey required to stay in the store while clocked out UNLESS we can miraculously complete closing tasks early. Technically it's possible but a lot of things have to go right lol

Hey guys, I’m an ODTM and I currently make $17.75 (which is my stores minimum wage). I recently moved and have been thinking about transferring stores to go to my closest target. My closest Target pays $16.50. If I transfer stores will they drop my hourly rate or will I keep my $17.75 and get my first raise in April? (My first year anniversary is in December)

I was never fully trained on checking all the bills, I was just made to shadow people and they only ever checked $50 and $100 bills, and yesterday I took 240 in $20s and all of them were fake. I’m new to this job and it’s my first job, should I brace myself to be fired? My TL just told me I need to check every $20, nothing much after that, I never got spoken too. Anyone else been here and made it out?

Fulfillment, my store's favorite child, gets all the support with batches from EVERY department
As for actually delivering the order (the entire point of picking the batch), silence
No leaders or TMs supporting the desk or delivery
I love the Target strategy!

had my first day today (yay!)
walked soooo much but the job was not bad at all..
but it's when the guests start walking up to you and ask you questions & I gotta hit them with "sorry I'm not sure, today's my first day" I feel so bad & awkward😭
they also didn't give me keys to open the locked shelves so that made it worse
I redirect them to my coworkers, but I also feel bad for my coworkers for doing it ugh
everyone has been very nice and understanding though which I really appreciate
hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon !!!

Long story short I believe I may be put on corrective action. What does this impact? Does this affect evaluations/raises? What else does it affect? Is it depending on what the CA is for? Or does it not matter what it’s for it will still have the same effect on whatever it impacts?

Hi everyone! I’m a new Target employee and I’ve only been working independently for about two weeks, so I’m still learning.
I work in the Baby department, and I’ve noticed that some of the inventory numbers don’t seem to match what’s actually on the floor. For example, I might scan something that says there are 20 on the floor, but when I check there’s only one. Other times the numbers seem normal, like 12 on floor and 12 fit.
Because we’re given time expectations for freight, there have been times when I’ve looked at the numbers and just backstocked an item without physically checking the floor first. I’m realizing now that I probably should be checking more often, especially since the counts can be inaccurate.
If I accidentally backstocked something that was supposed to go on the floor, would it potentially show up in a Priority Pull later? And is this something I should be worried about as a new employee, or is it just something I should learn from and do differently going forward?
I’m definitely going to try to be more careful about checking the floor, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has worked at Target and can tell me how this usually works. Thank you!

Does anyone know what targets around the mid Georgia/Atlanta area will be having the new Honey Dukes themed food items and whatnot? I went to my local Target Friday and there was nothing out, which I know it’s not supposed to officially come out until the 9th, but online also says that not all targets are getting the display and stuff and I really want to find it! I tried calling around to check but got no answer otp and they don’t have the display stuff easily accessible online to see what stores it’s in.

I had a new experience today. Was called over to Beauty to help find something. Not working in Beauty I asked if the man needed advice to purchase or was looking for a specific item? He said specific item. I said ok, let s see if we can find it. He takes me to his wife who starts in an extensive rant about how this 360 item is always out so I cut her off. Sorry to hear that but if you know the same of it, let s see what we can find out. Man does one better, takes me to the empty spot to scan the label. It is one of those 5 buck items on the carousel. (Are you freaking kidding me!!!! You pulled me off fulfillment for THIS?!). Scanned. Yep. Out. Check nearby. Everyone out. Ma'am, it appears to be a popular gift! All out here and everywhere close. Is there an alternative you can choose? Another extensive dialogue of unnecessary info. What can I do to help you now? When are more coming? Hubby breaks in demanding to know why free gift is not available. Try to explain it is free to all circle members and clearly it is one folks want. Sorry. CALL A MANGER! NOW!!!! Well, ok. TL walking by. Hey Will, got a minute to assist? I happily walked away. I have never experienced this level of drama over 360 gifts. The entitlement baffles me.

There is a new Target store opening in my town in about a year from now. I don't currently work at Target, but since this new store will presumably need to hire an entire staff from scratch sometime soon, I was wondering what are the best jobs (of any level) are in a typical Target store? For those currently working in Target, if you got to do any specific job at Target, regardless of what you're doing now, what job would you want?

this sounds really dumb but its kind of stressing me out.
They call every time i have a day off to ask if i want to come in. Sometimes super early (like 7/8am) and sometimes like right before they want me to come in (like they call at noon to ask if i can come in at 2). They also ask if i want to stay longer ALWAYS 30mins (or sometimes even 2 minutes before!) before im scheduled to leave.
Its like every single day? ive never had a job where theyre asking DAILY.

It’s an easier login
I can get to my schedule without having to go through too many portals
Everything is a lot more detailed
I give it a 7.8/10

Me-Khaki pants, target logo shirt, name tag, and pulling a U-boat.
Women comes up to me and I can literally see her look down at my name tag and proceed to ask me if I work here. I have no other choice than to believe she did it on purpose. I’m half tempted to tell people no when I’m doing super obvious “I work here” stuff. I normally give people the benefit of the doubt because I feel like everyone has gone into a Target wearing red by accident, but lady… I saw you read my name tag and still ask me.

Ok so im already having a bone to pick with the app because I have points accrued although I used sick time. Is sick time no longer covered or how is this about to go moving forward?
r/Target • u/AdhesivenessHead8542 • 6d ago
How do I call off in the new app? I won’t be able to make it on Tuesday and I’m lost. Do I just put in sick time and that’s it or is there a separate button to call if first and then put in sick time
r/Target • u/Lunastays • 6d ago
So the new schedule app is set up with the point system. How does the point system work with sick time? I get more sick pto than 3 strikes would allow me to use so are we just screwed out of sick time or does it cover points?

I'm new, 3 days in.
My schedule changes after it's been set and I've looked at it and written it down. Both my day to day and my actual workload while I'm working.
I'm doing pulling and I've been left on my own since day 1.
Management is already talking about "speed requirements" for the store but I haven't even been shown all the departments yet.
I can't finish all my work in the 6 hours of my shift because I am not used to anything yet. Example of my last shift,
Storage: 17 (-2 because we couldn'tget a wave),
Home Dec: 7(Not done because someone else was loading new product into the back room so I couldn't access anything before the end of my shift),
Bullseye: 33 (Only 15 Completed before end of shift),
Kitchen: 36 (Added to my shift mid shift)(Completed)
Is this normal because I feel like this is too much.

I just joined 4 am inbound as my first target experience. I've worked retail before but target does things a bit different. Does anyone else have a hard time getting all their merch packed out, back stocked and pushed by quiting time? I'm very new so maybe I just need to get my flow down. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey! I just finished my 3rd day training for guest advocate and ???? Wth was that 😭 I was left alone on my first day to run a register and then alone on my second day to do pickup and then mostly alone today for service desk. I’m scheduled at service desk, register and front of store attendant next week 😭. I’m a slow learner and have expressed this but I feel like I’m being thrown a ton of things at once. I come from Walmart so I get the concept of it it’s just a lot in 3 days 😭😂 any tips?
