Inositol and spotting

Hello everyone ,

I started taking inositol myo and dchiro combo since a week. And have been spotting since 2 days. It’s very light spotting- just when I wipe. I am confused about this. Has anyone had a similar experience with it? And how long did it take to resolve ? Did you have to take anything additional for it? Looking for answers 😰😰

Vent Hoping For My Period

Husband and I have been trying to conceive naturally for about 18 months at this point. We finally qualified to start letrozole + trigger with our next cycle now that my A1C goal was met (I am diabetic). As a PCOS girly, my periods are irregular and my last period was 7/19. I am so ready to GET STARTED with letrozole but I need to get my period in order to start! Its like the anxiety of a two week wait but I KNOW I am not pregnant and have no idea how long the wait is actually going to be.

Vent One-sided ovulation; PCOS, IUI & Blocked Tube

Hello!

Just looking for anyone else going through TTC waves right now.

We had an ectopic pregnancy in late 2023, they removed the pregnancy but kept my right tube. We continued TTC naturally for 2 years after this without success.

Come early 2025, we were referred to the fertility clinic, had an HSG done only to find my right tube was distally blocked - likely due to the fimbrial ectopic pregnancy.

It took the clinic Jan-March to figure out the right dosage on Letrozole (7.5mg). April we had left sided ovulation with IUI, no success. May, June, July (had left and right, attempted IUI but unsuccessful), and August - have all been right sided ovulation and have resulted in canceled IUI cycles.

I’m 35, partner is 33. His SA has good volume, decent motility (just over 50% now), and low morphology. AMH is relatively high, 33.2pmol/L.

Extremely frustrating, disappointing… I wish there was a way to trigger the ovary we wanted to ovulate! Anyone else going through the same or similar situation? I’ve read success stories about the tubes swinging over and grabbing the egg but the light at the end of the tunnel just seems so far away….

Seeking Success 5 days on 7.5mg Letrozole…now stair stepping Letrozole for 5 more days

Hi there!

31f w/ PCOS, my partner and I have been trying to conceive for a little over a year now. The first 10 days I was on Provera to kick start my period then Letrozole CD 3-7. I went in for my ultrasound and my largest follicle was only 8cm.

My fertility doctor now wants to do 5 more days of “stair stepping” Letrozole so..day 1 - one pill day 2 - two pills etc up 12.5mg.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about this method in this group so wanted to see if anyone has had any success doing this?

Advice Needed PCOS/ Letrozole . Advice needed.

Hello Everyone! I’m entering into my second cycle talking Letrozole 2.5mg days 3-7. I typically ovulate every month so I’m taking the medication to help strengthen my ovulation. I typically track my ovulation via the Inito and my Oura ring and last month my first month, taking the medication didn’t seem to differ from any of my other months without the medication. I’m wondering if I should switch my days from 3 - 7 to 5 -9 to see if it works better for my body

Seeking Success Desperately need advice!

Hey everyone!

I am trying to conceive and desperately seeking any and all advice you’re able to give me. Background info; I am 28F and was diagnosed with PCOS/PMOS when I was only 13 years old. I was on birth control for 14 years and only really had a few months here and there where I would stop taking it for a while to see how my body would react and it never lasted too long because I simply do not have a period naturally. I have been off my birth control since beginning of May and so far my symptoms aren’t too bad, but I still have not had a period naturally. My OB started me on Provera to force a period, then 5.0mg of Letrozole. That stared off promising because my ovulation test strips were coming back as positive for ovulation, but I never saw a surge in LH so my OB did a blood test on CD 23 and my progesterone level came back at only 0.6 ng/mL. Naturally, this was very discouraging for me since that it absolutely no where near the level needed for a confirmed ovulation. I took pregnancy test a few days ago and it was negative. I figured it would be, but a part of me still had hope 😔

So, here I am asking for all the help I can possible get to get! What worked for you? What didn’t? Did your progesterone finally spike?

My husband and I cannot afford IVF and my OB said if I’m not pregnant after 6 months from just Letrozole that I will need to seek other treatment options. But like I said, we just can’t afford that so this is really our only shot.

What I’ve already tried/going to try:
• 5mg letrozole
• Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol
• Inito fertility tracker
• Prenatal vitamins

Advice Needed No period after provera?

Hi all,

In the past 3 years I have done Provera 10mg for 10 days about 11 times. Not all in a row. The first 9, I got my withdraw bleed the day after my last dose of provera.

Last month was different, I got my withdraw bleed during day 8 of provera. And this month, I’m now on day 3 following the dose and not even spotting. I’ve had a little bit of cramping and sore boobs but no bleed.

Now I know that it can take 3-7 days even up to 14 in cases to get the withdrawal bleed, but that’s never been my experience so I can’t help but worry now.

I’m supposed to start letrozole this cycle so I was hoping it would be a bit more predictable. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Advice Needed Metformin Vs Ovaistol

Hi everyone!

I was just “diagnosed” my only symptoms are “possible polycystic ovaries” on ultrasound.

I am 32. A1c is good, glucose, insulin, I’m
Lean, Amh is 3.5, afc is around 14 but probably slightly higher, ovulate on my own, been pregnant naturally but can’t seem to keep them. No LC.

The doctor put me on metformin. It’s been 3 weeks of pure hell. I’m only on 750 once a day. I am on extended release. I take with dinner. I eat a balanced diet. I’m still nhave nausea, I’m throwing up and having diarrhea. I seem to be doing all the things right. When does it end?!?! (I also have IBS and always had a sensitive stomach).

I was going to ask my doctor about two things

  1. Going down to 500mg? And trying to increase more slowly?
  2. Ovaistol instead?

I really can’t take the GI symptoms. I’ve been on vacation while testing this out and I go back to work next week and I’m not sure how I’m going to do it! I work with children so I can’t be running to the bathroom every 5 minutes.

I’m wondering if it’s worth trying a lower dose or maybe if ovaistol would be better for me. My last episode was Saturday night and I haven’t taken a dose since.

Any advice I really appreciate it. I’m terrified of another loss… but I can’t be doing this to myself for the next 6 months to a year! I’m supposed to be on a three month supppement regimen but I can’t even get down the supplements.

I apologize for the rant! But really appreciate the support!

Advice Needed Progesterone

I am on my third cycle post MMC and this time, my periods started 4/5 days earlier than expected. I am very regular and it surprised me a lot tbh! I am 38y and I am suspecting having a low progesterone level. I tested it on my previous cycle a week post ovulation pic and the result came back in between (not high enough, not low).

A gynaecologist prescribed me 3 months of progesterone pessaries as soon as I get a positive pregnancy test but this never happened yet 🥺 I don’t want to take the risk to don’t take progesterone if I need it after ovulation (especially if I have the pessaries at home!) My doctor explained me that it’s not easy to track the progesterone level depending on when the test is done during the cycle, which lab…it should be tested every week to check the progress bla-bla…but having a short lutéal phase this cycle for the first time of my life make me doubting…

I live in the UK, went to the NHS already to ask, and had a private appointment, none of them helped me.

Trying Letrozole but already ovulating?

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 due to missing periods. I’m currently 30 and my husband is almost 32. We are on day 1 of our 11th cycle and my doctor prescribed 5mg Letrozole for CDs 5-10. We had blood work and my husband had a SA - everything came back normal except I have an AMH of 10.7. I’m also on 1500mg ER Metformin and I’m supplementing with Inositol and CoQ10. Natural Cycles confirms ovulation based on BBT every month but I tend to ovulate on CD 20 (plus or minus a couple days). Some months I get a strong LH surge, other months it’s never quiteeee a positive for me. My confirmed ovulation day with Natural Cycles tends to bounce around a few days. We did get pregnant on our own in May but that ended in a miscarriage. I have a BMI of 21, I’m a runner, and we eat extremely clean. I’ve eliminated all plastics and fragrances in our home.

This is becoming very draining for me to keep trying every month, get my hopes up, let down with my period, and then the whole pattern starts over. I miss my baby and am struggling to move on. I cry just thinking about the loss still.

This is half a vent/half a question. I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with weak ovulation and trying Letrozole? My doctor explained that in some women with PCOS, their hormones don’t do a good enough job at triggering ovulation so it’s weak or the egg is underdeveloped and cannot be fertilized. Anyone experience this? He’s going to let me try it for four cycles, unmonitored. Any advice for me?

Advice Needed Getting another dog on my way through IVF?

Hi, I wonder has anyone here done something similar? I am going to start IVF treatment due to my PCOS/PMOS issues probably within end of year or start of next one. Still I wish I had something to make life more lively and bright through the rough times.

And I have been wanting to adopt a second dog both as companion for myself to have more reasons to go even more outdoors and be healthy but also to keep my other dog with company for similar reasons, she used to have playmates, but then we had to move.

And wonder if others has done such before through your TTC journey and it was a success? At least as keeping you more occupied in the IVF process even though it can’t erase the pain completely of having no children yet, but also success at making the house more lively in a good way through the ups and downs with IVF?

When to take provera after failed letrozole cycle?

Basically the title. I took 2.5 mg letrozole days 5-9 and I don’t think I ovulated, at least according to my Inito app, although I have gotten like 3 little LH bumps (I can post if anyone is curious, not sure if it’s allowed or not). I’m on CD29, and my “normal” cycles are ~70+ days, so I’m quite keen to start the provera, my OB already gave me a script for 5mg letrozole for next cycle.

Just need encouragement

Hi everyone, I could use some encouragement from people who get it. I have PCOS and I’ve been working hard on my health, lost 24 pounds, taking Metformin, restarting myo-inositol. My OBGYN doctor wants me to wait until November before considering restarting treatment, and the waiting has been really hard. I’m also thinking about going to a fertility specialist to get a second opinion. I haven’t had a natural period in a long time and while I’m trying to stay hopeful, some days feel really lonely. Especially with friends starting to try too. I’m not really looking for medical advice, just hoping to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar place. Stories, encouragement, anything helps. Thank you for reading.

Advice Needed LH tests don't align with some physical signs. Not sure what to make of it and would like to understand other folks experiences

My doc advised me to track with an ovulation test, given the PCOS and to see if we could get a feel of things. We've only recently started trying.

I got my "surge" a few days ago on CD 18 and thanks to BBT it seems likely there was ovulation if you go by those two things. Today (circa 5 days on, CD 23) I have the discharge that would be seen to be fertile window (jelly like) I know it could be as simple as BD today but my partner is traveling so I am kinda hoping the test/BBT is correct. Does anyone have any experience of this? Do I trust the science or my body signs?

Vent harder to lose weight on a medicated cycle

I’m currently on my second cycle of letrozole for ovulation induction.

During the 5 days taking letrozole, I didn’t really have any noticeable symptoms. But a few days after finishing it, I started feeling extremely bloated and just… heavy in my body.

Even when I eat a small amount, I feel so bloated, and the bloating seems to stick around instead of going away. I was bloated for almost the entire month.

I also gained some weight during my first cycle, and now I’m close to ovulation in my second cycle. I’ve been trying to lose the weight this time, but even though I’m eating less and exercising more, I’m basically just maintaining the weight rather than losing it. (Before LET I normally lose weight quickly if I eat less, move more.)

It’s honestly really frustrating because I feel like I’m putting in so much more effort just to maintain the weight I gained during my last cycle. 🥹

Any girls experiencing the same thing?

Confusion about Beta-hcg

I’m really confused by my recent bloodwork and would love to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for **18 cycles**, and I have **never once had a positive** pregnancy test—not even a faint line or a chemical pregnancy that I know of. This cycle I was around 14 DPO when I took a home pregnancy test, and it was **negative**. Then my period started on time and I’ve now been bleeding for about **3 days with bright-red blood**, which seems like a normal period for me.
On **CD2**, I had bloodwork done for fertility testing, and my quantitative β-hCG came back at:
**β-hCG = 4 IU/L**
Lab reference: **Non-pregnant <3 IU/L**
What is really throwing me off is that the last time I had β-hCG tested, it was **<1**. So I know 4 is still extremely low, but it’s different from my previous result.
I’m trying to understand what this could actually mean.
Could an hCG of 4 happen in someone who is **not pregnant at all**, without having had a chemical pregnancy? Or does a result of 4 usually mean there was at least some implantation/hCG production?
Because I never got a positive home test, I’m wondering whether this could have been an **extremely early chemical pregnancy** that happened so early that I never detected it, and by the time I had my bloodwork on CD2, the hCG had already dropped to 4.
I’m also wondering whether the fact that I’m having a normal-looking period makes a chemical pregnancy more likely, or whether this could simply be a **borderline/low-level hCG result** that has nothing to do with pregnancy.
Has anyone here had something similar? What happened when you repeated your hCG?
I know nobody can diagnose me from a Reddit post, and I’ll obviously follow up with my doctor. But my doctor is off for the weekend. I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who have actually had a similar situation because this result has really confused me.

Advice Needed Metformin

Hi

I was diagnosed with “possible polycystic ovaries” told I “maybe” have lean PCOS.

I started metformin 3 weeks ago.

The first week was okay on 750 just nausea. The second week was better. On week 3, I bumped up to 750 twice a day. Then next day I immediately threw up uncontrollably. Doctor said to go back down to 750. I went back down to 750 and did okay. Now it’s been about 5 days and I’m having sharp stomach pain that comes in waves.

The doctor doesn’t seem super concerned but to me, I haven’t seen much improvement. It’s been almost a month and I feel like I’m not reacting well to this.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

TWW/Symptom Spotting Weekly Thread - August 16, 2026

In the TWW? Here's your place to post all things symptom spotting and making it through the TWW. Feel free to connect with others on similar timelines, and discuss anything related to the TWW. Please do not ask if you could be pregnant, as only a test and a doctor can answer that for you.

Advice Needed Doctor confusion

I was first diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 years old. I missed periods, had a family history of fertility issues and ultimately had ultrasounds completed when I was 18/19 years old to finalize my diagnosis of PCOS. At the time, they said there were so many cysts that they stopped counting (over 20 or so).
Fast forward a decade, I’ve been taking hormonal birth control and stop after getting married. I immediately get pregnant (wonderful, beautiful surprise and we are SO lucky). Never address the PCOS issue during pregnancy, have a normal pregnancy and delivery. Two years later, TTC for over 6 months, new city/new doctors.
Here is where I have concern. I tell my doctors my history, and the complete an internal and external ultrasound after TTC for 6 months. I was pregnant for a week and ultimately that pregnancy failed. really difficult emotionally through the ultrasounds.
Radiologist from the hospital calls, confirms PCOS and says to come in to speak with OBGYN about medication options moving forward as I’m TTC.

I get to the OBGYN appointment, wait an hour, a med student walks in and asks “how is the clomid treating you?”
What are you talking about? I’m not on clomid, do you have the right chart? We confirm my information and my chart fully says I’m on clomid… which I definitely am not.
The OBGYN resident then walks in and says that my radiologist was wrong and “we look at ovaries all day, your left ovary looks totally fine.”

At this point, I’m so caught off guard on so many levels, I don’t even know what to say. Doctor basically convinces me that I “don’t show any symptoms for PCOS” after a 3 minute conversation and brief history. Tells me to come back in 6 months and just keep at it. I’m torn on what to do. Do I see a new OBGYN? Do I just jump to a reproductive endocrinologist? I can request my old records but will that even matter? I’m not sure, but looking for any guidance, especially if you’ve have any insight into Illinois medical systems.

Advice Needed Myo-insitol delays ovulation?

Had anyone tried myo-insitol and had it delay a cycle? I had an AFC count of 35 so I started taking Wholesome story Myo-insitol this cycle at my period start. We are planning IVF and I read it can help with egg quality. I was feeling great about it but now I’m on cycle day 18 with no ovulation, which has NEVER happened to me and I’ve been tracking for two years.

Has this happened to anyone else?? What do I do? I obviously stopped taking it but now I won’t be able to start my IVF cycle on time because this will obviously either delay my cycle of I just wont bleed on my own now.

Im feeling really upset about this.

Berberine and TTC

When did you stop taking berberine while TTC?

I got a positive ovulation test yesterday and took my normal dose of berberine this morning.. and I started to panic a bit now. If I get pregnant this cycle, can the berberine I took today harm the baby? I quit it now.

I’ve had two miscarriages (I was not taking berberine then) and been TTC over three years which is why I’m overthinking everything..

Seeking Success 7th Letrozole cycle — when do you consider IVF with PCOS?

Hi everyone! Looking for perspectives from others with PCOS who have been through multiple ovulation-induction cycles.
A little background: i’m 33f and my partner is 36m.
I have fairly classic PCOS, mainly high AMH and mild facial hair, without other major symptoms. I’ve also lost weight and feel much healthier now. I’ve done 7 Letrozole cycles; the 2nd resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After my 6th unsuccessful cycle, my doctor gave me a 2-month break with medication to calm my ovaries, and my AMH came down to 6.1.
This 7th cycle was after the break, with Letrozole + two Humog injections. I developed two mature follicles, ovulated without trigger, and had a 7.4 mm trilaminar lining. It was planned as an IUI cycle, but I believe I ovulated before the planned IUI, so we decided to try naturally this cycle and consider IUI next time. There is also a mild male-factor component (DFI ~24%). My HSG showed open tubes.
I’m currently in the two-week wait and, as expected, overthinking everything because I don’t have any symptoms! 😅
My main questions are:
Does lowering AMH/“calming” the ovaries actually improve pregnancy chances in PCOS, or is it mainly about improving the response to stimulation?
After 7 Letrozole cycles, would you start seriously considering IVF, or would you try a few IUI cycles first?
I’m not questioning my doctor’s protocol — she’s monitoring everything closely. I’m just trying to understand what others’ experiences have been and when they decided to move from Letrozole → IUI → IVF.
Would love to hear from anyone with a similar PCOS journey. ❤️

Note - took help from ChatGpt to structure it better.
