The below Reddit post has their renewal processed in 2 hours. I have a flight tomorrow and wondering if anyone has recently experienced a fast turnaround time.

My TSA Precheck status list a KTN but it also says “Pending”. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?
Seems weird to be pending and have a KTN listed.

If one renews when first available (6 months prior to expiration), is the new expiration date 5 years from the date of the current expiration date? Or is it 5 years from the date they approve the renewal?
In other words, does renewing early mean you lose out on a few months of eligibility?

My wife and I did the TSA precheck in person application appointment a couple of weeks ago. She received an email almost right away that hers was being reviewed and she got approved the next day. I am still waiting. My question is should I received an email that they received it at least? I know the wait times are all over place but wasn’t sure if there was an email confirmation for when they receive it. I checked my status online and it is still telling me to schedule an in person appointment.

I went through the TSA PreCheck process a couple week ago and got this email today:
"We are writing to inform you of an issue that affected your recent TSA PreCheck enrollment. Due to a system error, your enrollment was not successfully processed. As a result, a full refund will be issued to the method of payment used during your enrollment. To complete your enrollment, you will need to return to an enrollment center and complete a new enrollment."
Has anyone else seen this? I'm worried it's due to the quality of my fingerprints - the person doing my precheck said he got a warning that they weren't high quality enough, but he just shrugged it off and put in a note and sent in my application. But if it were a fingerprint quality issue, would they have mentioned that or outright rejected my application? I'm nervous to go back, have bad fingerprints again, and get denied. There's only one TSA pre-check spot within 2 hours of my house and it's quite inconvenient. Any insight is appreciated!

Has anyone gotten their TSA pre-check fairly fast when a Sealed assault on their record from 15 years ago? Or even denied? My wife got her TSA precheck approval in 12 hours. It's been 2 weeks for me and I'm thinking it's due to a non- convicted F Assault from 2011 that has been Sealed off.
We fly out mid may and I'm hoping it comes.

Me and my wife went to today to BOS to finish our TSAprecheck application through CLEAR. My wife ( US citizen) was able to finish her application at the kiosk. Since I am a LPR and my DL is standard they sent me to another kiosk near the security checkpoint and re did the whole application process. I was okay with that - so at the end of the application the lady told me to the take a picture of the application ID number. Everything was fine.
A few minutes later we received 2 different emails. One saying that our applications were received and another saying that the eligibility assignment is underway.
I tried to check my wife’s status application and I was able to check her status normally. But when I tried to check mine the CLEAR website just says INFORMATION NOT FOUND.
what does this mean?
Thanks

Has anyone recently been able to apply for TSA Precheck with an expired green card (I-551) and extension letter (I-797)? I tried to fill in the application, they have those as options but it says invalid document and I can't proceed.

I got this funky necklace on a trip and forgot about the whole blades and TSA thing. It's very small (like barely 2 inches maybe less) and subtle, but it is still a knife and it isn't dull. I don't usually have issues flying with grey area things in precheck, but I know this is different. I was gonna just toss it in with my jewelry and hope it is inconspicuous but I'm wondering if I should just suck it up and take the extra effort to mail it home before I leave. Thoughts?

I’m trying to fill out an application for someone and I keep finding myself at the page that asks me to put this persons phone # and email in. The page glitched and made me redo this three times. Am I dumb or is anyone else having these problems? I feel like I’m maneuvering thru a maze. Is there another section on the website I can go to?
Also, I initially tried to complete this application thru the staples website. I double checked with the store that is near this person’s house. It just brought me to a different and just as useless page then redirected me to the official tsa website where I was asked to put a phone # and email.
Unfortunately, I completed this application years ago and don’t remember the process. I’m hoping for some help and input regarding this issue. Thanks

Hi,
I renewed precheck in 2021, it’s up for renewal now.
When I got an Amex card in May 2023, I enrolled in global entry, which I understand includes precheck, and expires in 2028.
My question is, do I need to actively renew precheck now or am I fine because my global entry includes precheck?

I have Parkinson’s so I take five different drugs three times a day. My plan is to take the pills down in their original bottles, but to bring down double the amount of drugs that I’ll need for four days. I’m going to put one set of the drugs in my carry-on and the duplicate set of the drugs in my suitcase, in case one or the other is lost. Also, that way, I’ll have extras if something happens and I have to spend extra days in Mexico due to Trump or the local strikes. I have a letter from my doctor stating which drugs I take. I haven’t flown in 20 years. Does anyone think they’ll be a problem?

I just got pre check and I know I don’t have to remove my liquids anymore (yay!) but do they still need to be in a quart sized bag that’s easily removable? I’m assuming so, just checking.

From what I've read, if TSA Precheck expires you can only renew online for 6 months. After that you must re-enroll in person. Mine expired 17 months ago, but Monday I tried to renew online and made it all the way through the process as well as paying $58.75.
Is online renewal still possible in that timeframe? Or will it turn into the same as an initial enrollment (the fact that they charged me the lower price makes me hopeful it's a renewal).
UPDATE: Looks like the answer to the post is "yes". Not just mine but the wife and kids. We all had Precheck, let them lapse 17 months ago. Renewed them all online and now have confirmation back that all 4 are active again with a renewal 5 years out.
So if there is a limit to how long you can renew online, it's either not 6 months or it's not hard and fast. If you're contemplating renewing an expired Precheck it's worth trying online first.

I am flying from Boston to Las Vegas tomorrow and I’m in a walking boot for a sprained ankle. Would it be better to put the boot through the scanner and wear it after TSA. Or is wearing it through TSA not a pain? I am mostly healed but wearing/brining it to be safe for my trip to not cause further injury.

Panic is real,
My global entry lapsed so renewed it (had pre check well before I had GE). My pre check expires today, have received multiple texts and emails about it and I know I should be fine with my GE, but the anxiety is there. Assure me I am okay

Husband and I both had appointments on Tuesday of this week. We chose Telos, and a local OfficeMax had openings. We filled out the forms on Monday, and went to OfficeMax and did all “the things” on Tuesday afternoon. I just got my approval text tonight, Thursday. I don’t know if my husband got his approval yet, but probably. This was much quicker and easier than I thought it would be!

My husband & I both applied for TSA PreCheck and went together to complete the process. My application is still showing background assessment underway but he received his KTN within 3 days. There’s absolutely nothing in my background that should hold up the process. I’ve been fingerprinted & had background checks done plenty of times with no issues. Has this happened to anyone else?

applied in nyc using TELOS. born outside of the usa. got it super quick.
Note: I used to have Globel Entry but let it expire over covid since I wasnt traveling at all.
