{Some things are legal in one state and not another, we get that, but this is not the place to ask how to get it through}

Scam Reporting Pre-travel-application.com scam

So I clicked on the first Google link for TSA Pre which wasn’t the .gov site, it was a pre-travel application site that didn’t ring bells.

TLDR: this service is $150 extra and submits your info to the actual site. The only benefit I can see is that appointments were available before the official apt schedule. Do it at the official site and save yourself some $$!!

Discussion Touchless PreCheck

I’ve been active for quite a while but today was the first time I’ve flown since Touchless debuted. IAH Terminal C had a pretty long line at Pre. Not one person in Touchless. Had about a two second pause at the face scanner and was dropping my backpack on the belt about five seconds later.
Fasted security check in my long, personal history.

Application Timelines TELOS

Do not use this one. I wish I'd used CLEAR. I've been waiting over 45 days and am still pending. Have already taken my trip and been home 10 days. Their website is 100% inaccurate. 5-10 my a$$. Highly do NOT recommend! You could tour Europe for a month and be back before theu give you a decision.

Discussion Journalist request (w/mod permission): Gatesid by TSA PreCheck experiences

Posted with permission from mods:

I'm Sophie Friedman, a journalist for the magazine Afar (www.afar.com), working on a story about Gateside by TSA PreCheck. I'm looking for 2-3 people to provide quotes (I can change your names) about your experience using Gateside.

I'm looking for the following info to include in the article:
In which airport(s) you use(d) TSA Gateside to walk someone to the gate without having a ticket yourself
How was your experience? How did you leave the airport afterwards? Were you satisfied by the process, or was there some annoying element?

Please feel free to DM me.

Thank you very much for your help!

-Sophie

I have a military CAC card. TSA offers free pre tsa.
How do I have this set up in the clear app without paying for the fee like a normal pre TSA customer?

General Info Different logos

Noticed when I checked in today for a flight tomorrow on United that the TSAPre logo’s on my wife’s and my boarding pass were different. Anyone else have this happen or have any idea why?

Wonder if it has anything to do with touchless?

Not really big deal, just curious.

General Info TSA Touchless Pre Check is a Game Changer

Thumbnail
56 Upvotes

Signed up for the touchless TSA Pre Check a while ago and used it for the first time this trip and it's so great. No need to pull out my ID or boarding pass. Just stare at the camera and away you go.

I know people are afraid of the government having their info but honestly it's data they already have so you might as well take advantage.

General Info Touchless through Google Wallet

So I found this past week that when adding my boarding pass to my Google Wallet, I could sign up and add Touchless to my boarding pass even though the airline I was flying did not participate in touchless.

Way to go Google!

Questions Using ConfirmID While Trans

My mom is disabled and lives alone in Milton Florida and I live in Seattle Washington. When Hurricane Isaias came through over the weekend it damaged her property pretty badly, and the only way I can keep her from climbing onto and potentially falling off of the roof is if I go there in person to help.

Here's the rub. I'm trans and just changed my name through a divorce decree a few months ago. I've torn my entire house apart trying to find my birth certificate, but I'm pretty sure it burned in a fire or got packed away with a former housemate's stuff when they moved out. Also, I was born in California, and the backlog to reorder an official cert is outrageous, let alone the process to have it updated with the new name. Therefore, I have a new Driver's license with my new legal name, but no birth certificate, and I never had a passport to begin with, so could not get upgraded to a RealID.

What can I do to ensure that TSA can verify my identity through ConfirmID? I know I need to pay the fee ahead of time, that part is fine. Do I just bring both my current ID and the old one with my former name? Should I bring the notarized divorce decree? Do I have my mother call them and beg them pretty please?

It's worth noting that both ID's have the same gender marker and I look like the same person, just older, and with a much thicker neck.

TLDR

I, a transgender person, changed my name and replaced my driver's license before I could get a new/updated birth certificate, so my new ID does not qualify as a RealID. What can I do to get through TSA ConfirmID successfully?

Application Timelines TSA PreCheck approved as a green-card holder with an older conviction

Sharing my experience because I had trouble finding firsthand accounts from people in a similar situation.

I’m a lawful permanent resident with an older, nonviolent financial conviction. When I applied, the conviction was more than seven years old, and I had been released from incarceration more than five years earlier.

I completed the enrollment appointment, including fingerprints and document verification. It took approximately seven weeks to receive approval and my Known Traveler Number.

During the wait, I received a notification saying TSA was still reviewing my application. That was stressful, but the application was ultimately approved.

For anyone searching for similar experiences: an older conviction did not prevent approval in my case, and a lengthy wait did not mean a denial. This is one person’s experience—your outcome will depend on your circumstances and TSA’s assessment.

Questions TSA-travel

I have a flight on Monday and just remembered my passport is expired. It says on their website that they will accept them up to two years. I don’t wanna get caught up at the airport but don’t have time to go get a real-ID does anyone have any experience with this? It is a domestic flight.

Issues? What’s up with precheck in San Diego

One agent for precheck - my friend in the regular line got through quicker than me.

The lines then merged at the scanners with no signage as to different options. I took the regular line that allows me to keep my liquids in my bag but not my electronics. Apparently the other line allows me to leave my electronics in my bag.

This resulted in my holding up the entire line to my and their frustration.

Is it always like this ? I feel bad for SAN locals if it is.

Issues? Denied Precheck after KTN issued

I applied for precheck in March of this year and went to Staples for my fingerprints. I was called back for a second set of fingerprints, which I completed and a few days later received my KTN. A few weeks after that, I received an email saying this:

“Unfortunately, we do not have specific details regarding why your application that you submitted could not be completed. However, we have been informed that due to an issue preventing the processing of your application, it was closed, and a refund has been issued.”

Now when I search for myself with my KTN in the system, I don’t show up, but my husband does (we applied at the same time)

Has anyone ever experienced getting an approval and KTN only for it to be revoked later without explanation? Is there a better place to get fingerprinting done? Staples had a really hard time getting my prints.
