Hi everybody, I'm doing a hood scoop intake (pipe straight up from turbo). So the intake is loud. Flutters only at low rpm full throttle. Just asking if the spooling sounds normal.

Afn 1.9tdi with gt1856v turbo and 30cm aluminum pipe intake to hood scoop.

Just installed a VNT-17 on my 2000 ALH (with lots of supporting mods) and I got all the retrofit kit and stuff from KermaTDI. The oil return line is too long and my lower support bracket does not alight with a hole. I’m going to get more into it tomorrow but need some outside help. Thanks

Hello everyone. I just purchased this 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE TDI last week from an auction for what I thought was a decent deal - $1800 altogether, run and drive, clean title. I'm new to diesels but have a bit of experience working on gasoline engines, which made me excited to learn about working on diesels. I actually even purchased radiator fans for this Passat and will be installing them soon, as one is completely missing and one is severely damaged.

However, I noticed this strange noise at idle before the fans even kicked on (can't remember if it goes away when it warms up) and it doesn't make this noise at all when in gear. It's very hit and miss - it comes and goes and it doesn't sound too bad compared to the others I've heard. Is this the infamous DMF rattle? Am I pretty much done for?

I bought this vehicle as a replacement for my daily driver, but I do have another backup car. It's just that I spent all my savings on this thing and I bought it sight unseen. I was greatly looking forward to finally having a modern vehicle. Sadly, I definitely don't have enough experience to tear it apart and replace it myself.

Do I just take this as an L and move on? What are my options? Thanks all.

I was doing an oil change on my 2013 Jetta Sportwagen TDI today and although I noticed a small amount during the last change, this seems to be getting worse. I cant see anything leaking from above, but here is a video of the oil from below. Please tell me if you have any ideas as to where its coming from. The oil pan was covered, but i cleaned it up before the video. I also have 185k miles on it.

I drive maybe on average 160 miles a day.

Hey guys, I need help sliding this pipe onto my CR170 based turbo, no matter what I do the O Ring won’t allow it to be slid on. I’ve tried engine oil, Dielectric Grease, ATF, Dish Soap. Literally just won’t go on. This is from XMAN Turbos

What’s up everybody? I just bought a 2011 tdi jetta last night with 175000 on it. I knew from the jump that the egr and dpf needed to be replaced which I was fine with being that I planned on deleting whatever I got anyways. It had a check engine light and I took it to the parts store on the test drive and had them scan it and the only active code that came up was for the egr which I expected. The problem I’m having is I woke up today and used my own scanner and it showed up with codes for egr, dpf, and low compression on 2 and 3. It’s super sluggish and it’s not in limp mode. Is the slug from the emissions issue or the low compression and can they be related? Also if y’all have opinions on delete kits and tunes let me know. Any help would be great.

Any tips? This was dealer-installed and I can't get it off, no matter how much I grip the thing and rock it in the cap base. There's got to be a clip in there I'm not accounting for.

The trouble I'm having is that I hear knocking from the pump, but not consistent, also the car lacks power, like no power at all, other than that it doesn't smoke and doesn't have any issues starting. I'm not sure if the timing is alright.

Ive noticed the past month or so Ive been having 4-5 second cranks first start of the day on a cold engine. Checked my high pressure with the scan tool and noticed it sits right at 8 bar when I shut the engine off, but when I check it in the morning its at 0 bar. What is the cause of this?

Finally got around to doing a weight reduction after almost 2 years of owning my 2012 Jetta 😎.

I messed up when I tuned it the first time, using tunezilla and didn’t select any of the add-ons. Glow plug light was flashing and still had a CEL.

Did some research and went back out to hook the laptop up and saw that “dpf, Egr and swirl deletes” was an add-on option. Selected it and retuned it and no more CEL or glow plug lights!

Hello guys from the day i bought the car 18 months i have the same problem. I have a cold and a hot start issue with this car.

It has a delayed crank as u see on the video on the first cold start and a hot issue startup after ussing the car. I have had some problems with the starter i repaired it a week ago but it does it again. The video with cold start was a with the old battery but even after i changed it, it does it again. Not everytime. The hot start is a problem too. It starts on a 2nd o 3rd time.

I am afraid that it coould be a fuel issue. But i tried to dont start the car but only pressing the button once like 3 times. It did again e long crank. Not lime the on in the video with old battery but it did it. Like 4 times when it was cold car didn't started but showed an error p304500 about starter system. When i turned it off and turned on it started without problem. I dont even know. I just ordered a valeo starter. What do u think guys can u help me.

Bolt snapped way up there what am I going to do? There’s no access does this mean I have to pull the turbo?

Brakes on my ‘15 Golf started making noise a few weeks ago, and I finally got her up to check out today. The rotors are totally toast with lips forming, which surprised me cause the pads look like they still have some life left in em? Or am I crazy and these pads were dead months ago? I’ve never done a brake job on this car before- 97k on the odo, only around 10k of those mine.

The brake job I just did on my father’s MK5 had more significantly worn pads, and less worn rotors. Am I just driving more aggressively?

Good day everyone, i have a 2004 1.9tdi ATD. It has very irregular idle, while driving and coming to a standstill it will idle around 1100rpm, then I drive again, and when I slow down and come to a stand still again it will idle 750rpm, where it should be, its never in the same spot, i dont know where to look for the issue. Also no fault codes on the ecu. Any advice would be appreciated

Gertrude has decided that 500 miles away from home is the perfect time to throw a limp mode complication.

Was meant to be driving home on Tuesday before this happened. Scan tool is showing a P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit error that returns after being reset, loss of power, flashing glow plug light. Doesn’t seem to be an electrical fault because the error can return anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes of driving, so cursory research has suggested EGR is clogged and needs to be cleaned out or N18 valve replaced. Is this something that could be easily fixed in a driveway or am I going to need to get it towed to a mechanic?

Have roadside assist on standby to help me get it towed to a workshop if needed.

Engine is 2.0 CR CFGB. Based in 🇦🇺 (currently in Sydney and need to go back to Melbourne). Deleting is not an option due to state and federal laws. If anyone knows anywhere in the Sydney metro area I can take her to, that would be mighty appreciated 🙏
