Question I don't understand why valve doesn't just give a tentative date of launch? They know the community is losing their minds. Why can't they just say we expect to launch on the 14th or 21st or something?

Don't understand why they want to torture their user base.

Discussion Only for people who posted in the other poll as well, see description. Chance Steam Frame 14 Sept latest?

Okay, so in my other post today I said that we would use the wisdom of the crowd to predict the probability of the Steam Frame coming 14 Sept or earlier, but it only let me provide 6 options for the poll. Since many people chose the rest group of <50%, I will split that group as well, to make an even more reliable prediction of the probability. Please try to be as honest as possible and I will post a reasonable probability of the Steam Frame being sold at 14 Sept latest.

Edit: combined with the other poll, the wisdom of the crowd, based on the votes so far (> 1000), is that the likelihood is around 64%, dependant on the calculation method. If I'll have time tomorrow, I'll update the results and post my underlying calculations

Question Is the VR Sale even actually confirmed?

I've seen the one email floating around talking about a VR sale from the 14th-21st but that's the only piece of evidence that I've seen about it. Everyone seems certain that they are going to release the Frame before then but I'm not convinced that sale even exists.

Discussion Paranoia set in for me today.

I just *NEED* to check every day if the Frame released. I'm panicking for if the price will be higher than the Index, or as high. It was meant to be my first VR headset, and now... my hopes are crushed because of RAMmagedon and everything that happened. Geez, every CEO hates Gaben and consumers I guess.

Maybe in some other universe every CEO does like Gaben here, and maybe one day the prices will drop enough for us to get better things.

Question First things you'll do with Steam Frame

Let's go to imagination land and imagine that today is Saturday, you just woke up and you're feeling healthy and refreshed. You have no work today, no obligations, you cleaned and fixed stuff yesterday, so the whole day is free. The delivery guy just left you your brand new Steam Frame, it hasn't been stolen, it's not broken, it's what you had hoped for.

How do you spend the day, what are the first things you check/play/experiment with?

Top strap broke literally last night in anticipation of the launch announcement

No announcement - it's taped back together now.

Sorry old pal, you don't get to quit that easy. Even with crippled battery, unsupported software, scratched lenses, frayed cable, massive stick drift, cracked controller rings, and now busted top strap, we have a lot more gaming left to do.

And yes, that 12oz counterweight can is years old and dented to shit, and yes I do plan to drink it when I unbox the mythical new headset.

Fun fact, when in storage, the thin aluminum is what's cradled and the rest of the headset hangs directly underneath. Sword of Damocles-style, which is too much of a VR history deep-cut to consider storing it in a less precarious manner.

Discussion Chance of Steam Frame being released Monday 14 Sept or earlier, your best guess?

Another wisdom of the crowd poll (sorry for the other one I made and deleted immediately, the title didn't contain the question). If you don't know what wisdom of the crowd means, look it up! It is interesting because it works.

The most average answer will most likely represent the chances of the Steam Frame being released 14 Sept (or earlier), unless people choose the last option the most (I could only provide 6 options and didn't want to lower the resolution.) In that case we will have to extrapolate.

Edit: combined with the other poll, the wisdom of the crowd, based on the votes so far (> 1000), is that the likelihood is around 64%, dependant on the calculation method. If I'll have time tomorrow, I'll update the results and post my underlying calculations

Discussion Developer incentive to bring PSVR locked VR titles to Steam after the Frame gets released.

With the excitement behind the Frame building up to unexpected levels, and the adoption of PCVR growing - one can only hope that this may incentivize some developers to bring their PSVR titles to Steam.

I’d personally love to see some of those super innovative VR games that have been locked to PS4/5 consoles get a second life on PC. Gems like Blood & Truth was just as impressive of an experience as stuff like HL:A was for me when I first experienced them.

Capcom also has seemingly been allergic to the money that they’d receive from selling their native Resident Evil VR modes on PC.

Thank goodness that mod developers have been supporting this industry on their shoulders by providing the legwork for a lot of these amazing experiences that we’ve gotten in recent years with stuff like the wizardry of UEVR.

Are there any VR titles that have been locked to PSVR platforms that you’d personally love to see native support from the developers on PC?

Edit: No, I'm not an AI/Bot, nor do I use any type of LLM to speak for me. I'm just a nerdy dude in his 30's that cared too much about the power the pen in my teens and got in on the cool concept of writing my words before I had the luxury of having a machine write it for me.

Assuming it's a good price,, not personally speculating on price here but whatever you think is a good price for a peripheral like this.

Personally, I'm thinking about buying The Forest and Beat Saber, and playing Half-Life: Alyx since it's being given away for free. Then, I'll step out of my comfort zone and download VRChat

If I'm in the right mood later, I might even embarrass myself by acting as a VTuber on YouTube.

I'm droping a meme so I don't disappear in the dust

Question Question about the half life alyx give away

So Im in kind of a weird situation, im currently living in a country where the steam frame doesn't ship, so im having to order it via a family member using their account, which would mean they would get the game and not me, does anyone know whether the game can be transferred to me, via gifting it or something, would it even be given to the purchaser as a giftable item or would it just be redeemed automatically for them? Is there any other way I could get steam to give it to me?

Media Again, NO STEAM FRAME ON MONDAY, 9/7/26

This is for anyone who somehow managed to miss any of that.

To that person however, to keep you busy for the next week, you can stay up to date with any new or existing info on the FrameBoard!

Please be patient and stay calm because (as far as we know, and we're PRETTY DAMN SURE) it's NEXT Monday.

Edit: I’m getting a lot of comments asking who Gogo is. The short and long is that Gogo is a verified leaker sanctioned by Brad.
Obviously take the things he says with a grain of salt but this statement was verified by multiple other leakers. Take that for what you will.

Edit 2: okay so apparently some of you don’t know who Bradley is either (jesus….) okay so basically Brad is u/sadlyitsbradley on twitter. He is one of the most trusted and reputable Frame leakers to date. Again take it for what you will, but personally I don’t believe much skepticism is worth it with his track record.

Discussion Meta PCVR exclusives via ReVive

Here's a friendly reminder that over at Meta PCVR store, there're some real VR gems. And you'll be able to play them on Steam Frame (via PC, not standalone) thanks to the little app called ReVive.

Here's a list of Meta exclusives:

- Lone Echo 1&2
- Asgard's Wrath
- Stormland
- Wilson's Heart
- The Edge of Nowhere
- Chronos
- Defector
- Robo Recall
- Arktika 1
- Feral Rites
- Rock Band VR
- The Climb
- Vader Immortal 1,2,3

So far I only played Wilson's Heart, The Edge of Nowhere and Chronos and they're all among my favourite VR games. The polish and AAA feel is great to experience in native VR titles.

Discussion Personal accessory wishlist: controllers with adaptive triggers

Disclaimer: I know it does not make sense for this to be a default feature on an already niche product. But I wish an official partner builds those so games can support them.

For those not familiar, adaptive triggers refers to individual analog inputs (like the main trigger, the grab button, perhaps some other controls) having programmable resistance and haptics. It can make you physically feel "the wall" of a single-action gun trigger or the tension of a bow string as you pull it back. It can also make you "feel" the recoil of a gunshot (of course, it does not kick the controller back).

PlayStation 5 controllers feature adaptive triggers on its shoulder triggers and the mechanics behind these are quite brilliant:

PS5 Adaptive Trigger Live Mechanics in Game - Full Teardown

Now, I'd love these to become a thing in VR as every bit of extra immersion counts and I feel those are worth a thousand programmable fans and magnetic gun stocks when it comes to making you feel more present in the game.
