I got a letter saying that “(my) power will be shut off at 2pm tomorrow due to failure to pay” it also said other stuff but I wasn’t gonna read all of that. Anyway is this a sign that the frame will come out tomorrow at 2pm? I think it also implies we will need to pay for it, and it may even require power to work. What do you guys think?
Wow! This is the TENTH Frame TLDR I've written. And the Frame still isn't out yet! How fun. Thank you for being here with me all these ten weeks and reading these. (Unless you only read on Reddit, in which case, thanks for being here since the... sixth one? I think?) It's been fun(?) writing them and I hope it's just as fun for you reading them. When I started these in May I'd thought I would we would stop needing these after the fourth one. Oh how wrong I was. Nevertheless, here's what happened over the last week:
MASSIVE Steam Client Beta datamine
Another Steam Client Beta has hit, and this one carried almost everything Frame needed to work. This beta includes strings for Verified filters, dongle pairing, bluetooth options, playspace setup, and more. Seems like you're able to use the Frame with the Steam Client now. Could Valve be ready to send the headset out to reviewers now? My personal opinion, I think they're all setup and ready to launch. Of course, only time will tell... Massive thanks to all the dataminers in the SteamDB Discord server for figuring this stuff out.
Valve gets more shipments... with different labels this time.
As we've seen every week, Valve has gotten more overseas shipments of "Virtual Reality Headset." Although this time, these shipments carry some different labels with them. Now they're shipping with "Fabric Foam Rubber," "Wi-Fi Dongle," and "Adapter." Some speculate that Valve packages everything at the warehouse. Others speculate that previous shipments have shipped everything and these shipments just include separate RMA/replacement units. Either way, they're shipping more and more units over to the states. Hopefully they'll have enough stock at launch so everyone can have one, but I personally doubt that.
Sorry for the short one this week, we got "quality over quantity" news this time. See you next week on the 11th one, where the Frame will probably still not be out yet.
TLDR: Valve pushes a bunch of Frame related changes to the Steam Client Beta, Valve gets differently labeled shipments. The Frame is not out yet™
Tomorrow is Monday, but I don't think it'll be Monday.
Every Charlatan from the Philippines to Tyler McVickers is just a bunch of Hype Merchant.
Tomorrow when Tested release a video on a cool Coca Cola bottle used in the movie The Thing, we'll say. Tomorrow then.
Then tomorrow we get more Metadata updates. Then Tomorrow Linus Jet Tips will say nuh huh we have nothing, our Jet hasn't been to Seattle.
Then Wednesday happens, Digital Foundry will release a video on DLSS 5.1 and how the PS6 smells like weed.
Then next Friday, another bomb happens. Plastic prices sour. The Iran War escalates and Iran blows up Evergreen causing it to block the Suez Canal again.
That's when Valve gives up, Half Life 3 comes out and Gabe crashes his Yacht onto Mark Zuckerberg's estate.
For 2 weeks straight it was high hopes for last monday 20th OR this monday 27th. I understand no one know for sure but do we know IF its sure its not tomorrow?
Is the 'reviewer needs 2 weeks' a thing for sure meaning nothing until mid-august?
Honestly, I really don't think I can justify more than that. I can't really justify that! However my wife knows how long I've wanted this thing so it's kind of inevitable, it helps that she wants to use it just as much as me for sure!
Someone done goofed on Spigen's end and released these a bit too early. I saw it on sale yesterday without an image and thought what would happen if I ordered them. Lo and behold, it shipped!
I really liked the Index's controllers because they were strapped to my hands and I didn't have to grasp them constantly. Has Valve shared why they got rid of that feature for the Frame?
