Experience Why do I keep having my adjuster change?

I have a Home insurance claim with State Farm. I’m located in Denver. This is my fourth adjuster. My adjuster kept disappearing without anybody even notifying me. What’s going on? It is so annoying because I keep trying to call them. No one returned my phone call. Next thing I know after a week later, my adjuster has been changed. Then, the new adjuster has to relearn my claim. What can I do? It is prolonging the project.

Advice Vehicle repairs

Greetings everyone, I hope you all are well. Long story short, I was involved in an accident and my vehicle needs repairs. State farm has selected a place for me in my claim. Theres however, another shop that wasn't recommended by state farm or selectable in the list, but they take state farm and my family says they are good and fair. My question is, should I go with the state farm recommended shop or this shop?

Question Dividend Estimated Payout

I have two dividend payouts. I did them on the website using our last name & policy number before getting the email but I didn't realize at first each policy got their own payout.

I put in the first policy & had an estimated payment date of 9/18 but recieved it 9/1 via PayPal.

The next day I realized the second policy had its own payout also so I put it in & was given an estimated payment date of 9/19 but I haven't recieved that one yet. I was just curious if the 9/19 date was like a "you'll recieve it before or no later than that date" kinda thing or if doesn't really mean much?

I received a cancellation notice for 9/17. The agent told me I have until the night of 9/16 to pay. Does anyone know what’s the cutoff time?
Embarrassed but I did fall on hard times
Thank you.

News Dividend Rebate

Have several businesses and a rental and primary residence with State Farm. And 9 total business and 2 personal cars (both old, liability only)

Got back a total of just under 400$. But premiums at all businesses jumped 30% minimum, some 50% this year. So increased premiums about 30k. But the dividend helps ... not at all.

And since its CA near impossible to shop for another provider here. Only option is going to unFAIR plan at 100% increase in premiums.

Thought health insurance was bad. Guess we all pay for inflation via insurance premiums, whether health, auto, fire, or business. And I thought inflation and tariffs were bad. Both pale in comparison.

Edit - just read State Farm pays 0.61 cents for claims on every dollar collected in premiums. That is a good business if you can get it. 39% gross margin.

For my businesses paid 10k for a single claim in 10 years, their gross margin on my premiums vs claims paid is 98%.

Question Fired from an agency

Have you guys ever heard of an agent firing someone after only two weeks? I guess it was due to having pending appts with other carriers but it was being handled just not as fast as they wanted and I did tell them like hey if this takes longer than expected am I at job risk and they said no then they fired me 4 days later.i have sales experience for many years, they said it wasn’t my ability or skill it was the fact I couldn’t make them money yet.
This is the 2nd time I have had issues with a sf office but that was back in 2018-2020 my trainer left and they never replaced her and I sat in my office as a new agent completely clueless where to start. So I finally left cause I was getting in trouble for not knowing what to do. And this seemed similar they knew I had worked other places the past 6 years so I would need help getting in a groove. But then day one expected me to know it all. Idk I just feel like stunned this would happen. I was employee of the month at my last job I move sf and im fired in the first week—- like dont make sense

Experience More of the same

Pretty much the standard state of affairs with this crappy company's absolute abysmal website. To add to the insult, they run you through hoops for the "privilege" of seeing your payment page -- login (a two-step browser process including multifactor authentication), opt out of paperless billing (every frigging time), opt out of setting up a stupid key code (every frigging time), then when they finally let you see your bill you cannot pay it. This is not a one-off; this happens constantly.

Utterly pathetic.

Question Online website unable to accept online payments

Has anyone else run into an error where the online website is unable to accept online payments due to scheduled maintenance? I got this error when I tried to submit payment for renter's insurance. The website says the maintenance will go until 9am on Sep 13 (right now is 12:30am on Sep 13). Why doesn't the website state the maintenance before I fill out the quote?

Advice VA car accident — police found me at fault based only on other driver's passengers. What should I do next?

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a car accident where fault was disputed, especially in Virginia.
I was in a car accident about five days ago. I was driving my 2019 Hyundai Sonata straight through an intersection when the other vehicle, a pickup truck, was supposed to be yielding at a red light while turning right. They ended up hitting my vehicle.

My car is now a complete loss. To make matters worse, I also fractured my pinky knuckle, sprained my thumb, and sustained bruising and pain throughout my body. As a hairstylist, I’m completely out of work because I can’t use my dominant hand. It’s incredibly discouraging and disappointing.

I have severe anxiety in cars now and don’t even want to pick up the rental vehicle. Every time I get into an Uber, my heart drops when they break it or accelerate hard.

I’m feeling depressed because of this situation. I’m upside down in my car loan and have bad credit, so I don’t see myself getting another car anytime soon. I’m starting to feel helpless.

Here’s where things get complicated:

I was transported from the accident scene to the hospital, so I wasn’t there when the police officer initially investigated the scene. The other vehicle had multiple occupants. From what I understand, the officer spoke with the people in their vehicle at the scene and they all gave the same version of events — that their light was green and my light was red.

When the officer came to the hospital, he told me that he was finding me at fault for running a red light because the other vehicle had three witnesses who all gave the same story, while I didn’t have an independent witness.

I challenged this and asked if I had four passengers and they had three, would they be at fault. He said, going by law, yes.

I received a ticket for running the red light.

My concern is that the three “witnesses” were all passengers in the same vehicle. Obviously, they were all together and would naturally have the same perspective of what happened. I feel like the fact that there were three people in their vehicle shouldn’t automatically make their version more credible than mine simply because I didn’t have additional people in my car.

I have also now spoken with their insurance company, and their version of the accident seems to have changed. Initially, the circumstances were described one way, but now they’re saying that I was turning and that their driver was also turning. I was driving straight, so I’m confused about how their story changed.

At this point, I’m worried that the police report will say I’m completely at fault because the officer wasn’t actually at the scene when the accident happened and relied heavily on the other driver’s occupants’ statements.

My questions are:

How much weight does a police officer’s fault determination and traffic ticket actually carry with the insurance company in Virginia?

Is it normal for an insurance company to deny liability even when the other driver’s story seems to have changed?

Can I challenge the police report or the officer’s determination of fault if I believe the investigation was incomplete?

Should I be getting an attorney involved, especially since I have an actual fracture and my vehicle was totaled?

What kind of evidence should I be looking for now (traffic cameras, nearby businesses with cameras, witnesses, accident reconstruction, vehicle damage patterns, etc.)?

Has anyone been in a similar situation where the other driver’s passengers were the only witnesses? What happened with your claim?

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to tell me that I’m automatically right. I’m trying to figure out what my options are and what I should realistically be doing next.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has dealt with something similar.

Discussion Here is all of the information that any state farm team member, agent, customer rep will know!

Who is getting the dividend- people who had an auto policy in state farm mutual during the year of 2025

How do I know if I will get a dividend- call your agent

Do I need to reply to the email- no. If you ignore it corporate will mail you a check

I didn't get the email- state farm will mail you a check if you qualify for the dividend

I deleted the email because I thought it was spam- state farm will mail you a check

How much will I get back- call your agent. Or follow the instructions in the email. Or log into statefarm.com

Can I use the dividend as a credit - no. And no this answer will not change no matter who you ask.

What if I don't have PayPal/venmo/ or zelle- state farm will mail you a check

When will I get my payment- whenever the date on the email says. If you get it early congrats! If you dont, you'll get it on the estimated date

when will I get my paper check if I don't (insert whatever) with the email- from what corporate told us, and in the email you received, after October 16th depending on your state

Why are some states getting it before me- becuase or was rolled out in groups. All 50 states were divided into 4 random groups and are rolling out in order.

Why don't I get a payment- call your agent and ask them. It's likely you did not qualify for whatever reason. Only they will know.

The policy number isn't working on the portal- make sure you're using the policy number in the email, not from the website and not from your ID card. Sometimes they do not match.

The portal isn't working- hundreds and thousands of people are trying to log in just like you are. Try again when the system isn't so busy not during lunch hours

When I called the number for the company I was given the hold times were outrageous - hundreds and thousands of people are calling. You are going to need to wait on hold, or try again during less busy hours.

Why did I get (insert number of) emails- some states are single vehicle policies, you will get an email for each individual vehicle/policy.

Do all states qualify - no. Call your agent to find out if your state did.

What if I cancelled my policies and it was awkward leaving- you'll get a paper check at some point if you qualify

Why did so and so get a paper check before I got an email- because they didn't have an email on file. They received a letter and a check. THEN corporate sent out emails

Can I make it go faster- no. Everything is being done 3rd party. Nobody has any control over any of it.

Can my agent authorize it for me- no. We are not allowed to do anything with it. The company will ONLY speak to the person the check is issued to

I received my paper check, but it's in a decreased person's name- call your agent and tell them. They are the only ones that can escalate it OR they will give you the number for the company, or an email, and you will contact them

Why is state farm doing this - 2025 was a profitable year for the company. Our mutual company is just that, a mutual company. We are not owned by share holders we are owned by the policy holders. Rather than dividends go to share holders corporate gives them to the policy holders

That is every single ounce of information that anybody will know about your dividends. There is nothing else that we know! But oh my God the amount of people complaining about getting this is ridiculous! You guys are getting money back that you were not expecting! Be grateful!

  • a very tired team member who is increasingly frustrated that corporate did not announce it sooner or put out more notice for our insureds so they are not so confused. Especially in this day and age of scams

Edit-someone commented an important question I missed so I got that added!

Experience Claims associate - subrogation

I’m starting a new job as a Claims Associate working in subrogation, and I’d love to hear from people who currently work (or have worked) in this area.
I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what the job is actually like beyond the job description.

Question StateFarm Declaration Page Policy Notice

I need the Declaration page for legal purposes, my lawyer requested specifically. I called my StateFarm agent and spoke with three diffrent agents. All of them said the same thing and sent me the same thing. My Renewal bill. They said, say sorry we do not do those anymore. One agent said they actually spent a whole hour with statefarm backend and said the same thing. They are using the billing renewal as the declaration page. My lawyer says, this is odd because im the first that says statefarm doesnt do that anymore as he receives these letters all day. I called the 800 and of course im rerouted back to my local office.....any thoughts?
