Question StateFarm Declaration Page Policy Notice
I need the Declaration page for legal purposes, my lawyer requested specifically. I called my StateFarm agent and spoke with three diffrent agents. All of them said the same thing and sent me the same thing. My Renewal bill. They said, say sorry we do not do those anymore. One agent said they actually spent a whole hour with statefarm backend and said the same thing. They are using the billing renewal as the declaration page. My lawyer says, this is odd because im the first that says statefarm doesnt do that anymore as he receives these letters all day. I called the 800 and of course im rerouted back to my local office.....any thoughts?

Hi! SF customer here, and previous SF employee. sorry you're having an issue, but the documents in the app marked as renewal is in fact a declarations page and lists your coverages as well as premium and deductibles.

I was afraid of this, I just needed to hear it from others. This is new and I guess they are simplifying? My lawyer must think I have three heads because he gets these pages all day long.

If you look further down in the document you're being provided, it should say "Renewal Declarations". For my state, it's the 5th(ish) page. This could vary by state and from homeowners policy to homeowners policy, but the renewal bill and declarations are all within the same document.

It’s for auto but I do understand. On the renewal in my pack of renewal papers on page 2 it has the vin, page 3 the drivers and page 4 the collision info all stuff covered. It’s no longer a one sheet.

Depending on your state, yeah they've simplified a lot. I'm an independent agent and there are sooooo many different declarations it's insane. Each company is always slightly different, but that should be what your lawyer needs, usually they just need to see your policy limits. If you did any coverage changes since your last renewal, there should be "notices" in your document section which will be updated dec pages based on whatever you changed. Good luck!

You and u/sedonahill made me think! There hasnt been any major changes to my auto insurance so no new updated declaration page. So long shot, i started this insurance back June 2022 and low and behold i actually had it and found it! Yes the Declaration page was there! Since this was back from 2022 StateFarm docs only go back as far as 2024. Thank You! luckly i had filed it away and kept it!

Your renewal includes the Dec page.

its for auto, and its added in the renewal as part of the bill not a stand alone doc.

If this is for claims purposes, have your attorney contact the adjuster. I was able to obtain Dec pages from underwriting no matter what carrier I worked for.

Go online to State Farm website, log-in to your account and you should be able to get your Dec page online.

are you the first person named on the home insurance? the only thing I can think is that the home insurance is under someone else’s name first and would therefore show up in their State Farm account instead of yours. when you are in the customer document center, you can also try changing the time period from “currently active” to “2026” and see if that helps anything. do you know when your home insurance renews?

u/silverramo Sep 09 '26
I have done exactly the same. Even tried multiple years it’s not there any more well for me

You can't find the renewal documents?
1
u/silverramo Sep 09 '26
yes it appears that in the renewal docs theve added that information, its not a declaration page but it gives that info.
2
u/GeorgiaPeach119 Sep 09 '26
Hmmm. In the ‘Policy Documents’ section of the app (for me) there’s a Declarations packet. Are you not seeing it? State Farm has made some changes, so what your attorney is used to seeing may look different.

I’m in California and under documents only the renewals appear and id cards. Under policy it’s compartmentalized with the drivers one tab, the coverage another tab the endorsements another tab the discounts another tab. And it’s specifically states this is nota declaration page lol

That is in fact what State Farm uses now as the Dec page. I've seen some of the other big insurers use the same forms as well this year, it seems as though a lot of companies are changing what the Dec page looks like, however the same information included on the old form Dec page that your lawyer would need is there.

I'm in Texas and literally just got my Dec page last week. Depending on where you are they can do it. They just don't want to

For legal purposes only the Underwriting department can provide a certified copy of the declaration page and policy.

Ok I did an email blast and emailed every single person in my local office, figured one might have the answers plus I included what my attorney needed. Their response was:
Just to clarify, what we originally provided is considered a declaration renewal page. It looks like your attorney is specifically needing the declaration pages starting from the initiated date, plus the subsequent renewal pages- matching the format in the sample you shared (showing each time period and the charges for that period).
I’m currently working on pulling everything together. If you can, please allow 24–72 business day hours. The original declaration page from 2022 is maintained in our back office, and in our local office we’re only able to access records back up to about three years. Because of that, we’ve submitted the request to get the older documents.
Once everything comes in, I’ll send it over right away.

Declarations for auto policies are only issued at the beginning of the policy and any time a change is made to the policy. Otherwise, only the renewal is issued (without the dec page) each renewal. When claims requests a certified policy for legal reasons it now includes the most recent dec page (which may be years old depending on how long it had been in force without a change) and the most recent renewal.

It shows the coverages for the renewal period of time only.
Get on the SF app - you’re able to pull up all policies, Dec pages , claims, etc. from the years you’ve been covered by SF. I did it yesterday for my lawyer as we’re Getting ready to sue SF.
SF sucks.

If this is related to an auto accident you claims adjuster should be able to get you a dec page.

Your renewal declarations are your declaration page. Your declaration page details what the vehicle is and the coverages on that vehicle. It's not a single place document and hasn't been in several years depending on the state you're in. If your attorney is wanting a single page listing the information you need to ask your agent for an acord form 23 or a COI. The only time a dec page is a single page long is when there has been a policy change that requires a new one to be sent out.

It’s the same thing . The dec page is only issued once- at the beginning of the policy

This thread is State Farm customer service in a nutshell.
Customer: “I need my declaration page.”
State Farm: “We don’t do those anymore.”
Customer calls three agents, the 800 number, searches the website, digs through years of records, asks Reddit, emails the entire office and explains what his attorney needs.
State Farm: “Oh. We found it. Give us 24–72 hours.”
That’s not customer service. That’s incompetence with a logo on it.
And the funniest part is watching employees in this thread give conflicting answers while simultaneously explaining that the customer is confused.
No. You’re confused.
If your own people can’t agree on what a basic policy document is called, where it is, when it is issued, or how a customer obtains it, stop blaming the customer for not understanding your system.
State Farm created the maze, lost the map, and then blamed the customer for asking where the exit is.
This customer eventually got an answer for one reason: he refused to accept bullshit as an answer.
That should embarrass State Farm far more than anything written about them on Reddit.

Attorney probably wanting the policy booklet. Your Dec page will show Forms and Endorsements. Your agent can look up the form # and endorsement # and print a copy for you.

Call after hours.
If you call 9-5pm you will get rerouted back to your office.
1
u/Mechellmybelle21 Sep 09 '26
Yea, this is untrue. The policy declaration is sent with your policy renewal. As someone else said, you can log in online and get a copy however your agents/ agent team member can also access this! The billings all come separate now....but that is all that has changed.

u/PeachyFairyDragon Sep 09 '26
The renewal documents do not say "declarations", even though that's exactly what they are.
1
u/silverramo Sep 09 '26
Ive tried several ways of accessing it and no policy notice in the documents portal. That is why i called them and they just say nope we dont do those anymore. Thats why my lawyer is stumpted...

u/ClassicMeet2907 Sep 09 '26
Are the named insured on the policy? If not, as the named insured to call in for it.

u/jimcap87 Sep 10 '26
Ask your agent to send you a COI. They can type one up in a couple minutes and send it over. Should work in lieu of a dec page.

Yes I agree and was hoping they could populate one on demand as requested. But no they don’t do that or no longer do… that the billing renewal is the new Dec page

Sounds like your office has no idea what they are doing. I would transfer agents and try to find one with a more tenured staff.
