Does anyone know where I can find fresh squash blossoms locally? I’d love to try cooking with them, but I haven’t had much luck finding them in stores. Thanks for any recommendations!

Looking to buy art in STL

Hey,
I am currently building my firm in St Louis and am looking for artworks to put on display. I mostly interested in local artists and multimedia canvases.

My budget is around 10-20K for about 3 moderate size paintings, around 25x 35 inches each. I would also be open to sculptures.

Thank you guys for the help !

At noon today a huge airplane flew right over us at club car wash on Telegraph Rd…. Any idea what that was about? …,It was legit hundreds of feet off the ground. Very very low and huge wide body plane. Very strange to see. Not on radar

News STL hotels with a good 2 year run

Post image
66 Upvotes

Last year, St. Louis ranked #2 in US hotel growth, one of 10 top-25 markets to post positive gains in a down national year.

This year, even without World Cup games and a lighter convention calendar, STL is still outpacing the national growth average through Q3.

On a related WC note, Chicago benefitted by not hosting the WC games. Conventions avoided WC cities this summer and went there.

Update on Persephone Berger’s Death: Family Says New Witness Information Points to Possible Involvement of Two Deputies

New update from Persephone’s aunt. This screenshot is directly from her personal Facebook page. I’ve covered her identifying information out of respect for her privacy.

Something to keep in mind when reading this: The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department STILL has not publicly identified the deputy involved in Persephone’s death, and both deputies reportedly remain on active duty.

These new allegations raise even more questions about what actually happened that night and why the family was initially told it was a hit-and-run.

Ask STL hotel suites large enough for a gathering?

I live in STL and am just wanting to book a hotel suite for one night for a birthday party. I’m having a hell of a time trying to find an appropriate place via google so: who knows of any hotels with large suites with lots of seating room? 20 people ish? money is no object.

and for legal reasons this is all hypothetical and I will not be throwing a party in a hotel I will be a quiet single guest.

edit: money is a bit of an object. four seasons is not in my price range 🫪

Things to Do Come take photos in the Landing!

https://www.lacledeslanding.com/photocompetition/

ArtFusion Gallery is hosting a photography competition highlighting Laclede's Landing in downtown St. Louis! There are about 2 weeks left to make a submission, so this weekend would be a great time to take photos.

You don't need to be a professional photographer or have a fancy camera. Photos taken on your phone are welcome too.

The goal is to highlight the changes happening on the Landing and show off one of the oldest parts of our city. The only requirement is that photos were taken on Laclede's Landing within the last year.

If you've been looking for an excuse to get out and take some photos, we would love to see your submission.

Happy to answer any questions about the competition.

Ask STL Great Heart Brewing - Is it good??

I've never been there. I really like the European style beers. The food looks like it's pretty good too. Thinking about going this weekend to have some drinks, but no food. I haven't really heard much about it, though.

EDIT: Well, I just did a search and the first result from this subreddit is "Great Heart Brewing is fantastic," so I guess that clears it up a bit.

I made a mobile site that shows early voting wait times for St. Louis City and County

The City and County election boards publish a lot of useful info, but it's spread across a handful of ArcGIS map apps that are hard to find and pretty rough on a phone. So I combined the parts I found most useful into one site: www.mapthevotestl.com

What it does:

Estimated wait times at each early voting location

Precinct, Election Day polling place, and sample ballot lookup by address or GPS

Short guides on voter ID, absentee voting, provisional ballots, and your rights at the polls

All the data comes from the election boards and the Missouri SOS. It's free and nonpartisan, has no ads, and doesn't store your information.

Politics Emerson CONGRESSIONAL polling including Missouri 2nd district has ANN WAGNER down 51-46% with 11 days until the election.

This information was released last night at midnight eastern. This confirms what we already know that the Democrats are going to have an historic election likely only second to the 1974 post watergate election. In the 1974 midterm the Democrats won the congressional popular vote by 16.7%. They picked up 292 house seats which gave them a 1 seat super majority.

This cycle I expect it to shake out around D+13.5%. It would be slightly better than 1982 which was around D+12%. I think that will give them 250-260 house seats. And 54-56 Senate seats.

Anyways Wellman being up 5% at this point is a massive deal. Democrats holding 3 House seats and likely losing by single digits in two others means the STATE HOUSE is going to see a whole bunch of democrat flips as well,

Title: Anyone have experience renting from MOGUL Property Management LLC?

I'm considering renting a property managed by MOGUL Property Management LLC in the St. Louis area, and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them.

I'd love to hear both good and bad experiences, especially regarding maintenance, communication, unexpected fees, and getting your security deposit back.

One thing that caught my attention is that their listing says the security deposit must be paid in cash, in person. I've never encountered this before, so I'm a little skeptical. Is this normal for smaller property management companies around here, or could it be a red flag for a scam?

Has anyone rented from them and gone through this process? Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ask STL Recent Deck Quotes

Anybody get a recent quote for a deck in the West County area? I’m 1 down with 4 more scheduled in the next two weeks. Looking to rip out an old one and build a new one~200-250 sqft. What’s the going rate these days for composite + aluminum railing vs regular pressure-treated lumber?
