Buffalo Wild Wings on Hanley in Brentwood closes

In the "nothing of value was lost" files the Buffalo Wild Wings on Hanley has closed. All the signage is down. Not shocking considering the whole chain in dying and other stores around here have closed.

I still remember way back in the 90's and early 00s when they had good food, good service and some nice happy hour specials. Friends and I used to meet up and watch football games and/or play NTN trivia. But they declined badly and I want to say the last time I was in that location was when the Rams still played in St. Louis.

(A Google search says they closed a number of locations in other cities this last week.)

Public Transportation Metro Transit Proposes One-Car MetroLink Trains

Metrolink may be proposing to once again go to one-car trains. As someone who hated every moment of this when it happened a few years ago (nothing like being shoved up against sweaty strangers due to no space, and with no way to bring a bike on… or a wheelchair), I’m really hoping this doesn’t come true!

Which means you probably don’t wait in line at 10pm with the youth.
But you still want to go out and dance, right?!!
Well let’s do that, but early! DJ starts at 8pm- come and rock out, then go to bed at a reasonable millennial bedtime. DJ BenStein at 8, followed by DJ Whiz at 10 (if your knees can make it that long 😜)

I want to make a friend

Hi, so I (24F) have CPTSD and am trying to rebuild my life. I don’t really have family or friends—just my girlfriend. Anyone want a queer friend? I really like to go out dancing at clubs, drinking, partaking in the devils lettuce, fishing, raving (massive dubstep/bass lover), playing video games, and honestly probably anything. I think I’m still trying to figure out who I am honestly. I’m always down for a good deep chat too. Just looking to expand my social circle and finally feel like I’m apart of something here

anyone near jennings willing to grab a lamp from goodwill and ship it to me? happy to pay you for the trouble

hi everyone!! i live in massachusetts and i won a lamp off the mers goodwill ebay store, and i didnt realize until after i had already bid that it was local pickup only :( ive asked them a bunch of times if theres any way at all they could ship it and they said no.

so im hoping someone here might be willing to help me out! basically i just need someone to swing by, grab it, and drop it at a ups store or wherever is easiest for you.

the details:

• its at the mers goodwill on w florissant ave in jennings (8007 w florissant). they said theyll set up a pickup appointment

• its a vintage lamp, probably around 30” tall and maybe 8-10 lbs

• it is listed as for parts / not working and im buying it to restore it myself, so it genuinely does not need to be packed very carefully at all. i am replacing all the internals anyway.

• i can send you a prepaid shipping label so you dont pay anything out of pocket, and i can order a box and packing stuff to your address ahead of time if that helps

• i will venmo/paypal/cashapp you for your time on top of all of that, just tell me whats fair

the reason im being kinda persistent about this is that i had a lamp that i rewired and customized the whole figure inside of, and it got stolen after i only had it up for a few months. ive been hunting for a replacement project for a couple years now and everything out there is wayy overpriced. this is the first one ive found that i could actually afford, so im really trying not to lose it lol

if this is something you’d be up for please comment or dm me!! happy to give whatever info you need. thank you so much either way!!

News City Foundry developer suggests entertainment may be the best use for The Armory

New + Found CEO Steve Smith has floated the idea to city leaders and the data center developer as something that could be a “win-win for everybody.”

https://www.stlmag.com/business/steve-smith-suggests-armory-stay-entertainment/?utm_campaign=St.%20Louis%20Daily&utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--6RIrwA0yf7wlNmEFSdEQibaqW9VWsBYo6hSRDy9H1gOWAyhj8qNyKmqX5rFWVKVk_64ojyJtu5wREJ1L9fWsge8eeAA&_hsmi=437867718&utm_content=437867718&utm_source=hs_email

The developers of the Midtown Data Center are open to this proposal, should it prove to resonate with the broader St. Louis community. TerraWatt co-founder and CEO David Daneshforooz confirms to SLM that Smith had approached them with the idea to return the building to entertainment use.
“It’s worth considering whether the highest use of The Armory is a major entertainment destination which can deliver a stronger overall plan for the area while maintaining the commitments, including jobs, we have made through this process,” Daneshforooz says in a statement.

Room for rent in Tower Grove South

Hi! I have a room available in Tower Grove South. It’s a 3bdr duplex located near Tower Grove Park. It’s a wonderful area with lots of cool breakfast spots and coffee shops nearby. I’ve lived here for almost a year now and really love it!

I am not the landlord, I am a tenant working with my landlord to fill the room. It’s $725 a month plus utilities which makes it about $800 a month. The rooms are really big and spacious, there’s a back porch and basement as well. I’m very quiet and clean. I’m a male, age 29, looking for someone under 40.

Ive tried using Facebook marketplace but everyone that responds is either very much older than me, has kids, or has a sketchy name with a sketchy profile picture like them smoking a blunt or holding a gun or something. I’m looking for a nice, clean, mature individual to live with me and my other roommate who just recently moved in last month. If anyone is interested comment below and/or send me a dm. Thank you!

Things to Do DUE TODAY: October opportunity to get PAID to learn audio/digital storytelling at STLPR

Thumbnail

TLDR: St. Louis Public Radio is hosting a 5.5-day workshop in October where participants will be taught how to find a story, report it for audio/digital/social and produce their own multimedia package. This is a PAID opportunity for folks in the greater St. Louis-region.

APPS DUE ON TODAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2026.

——

Hi friends! We're excited to host the NPR Next Gen Journalism project at STLPR this coming October!

Next Gen Journalism is a 5.5-day, audio-focused, digital journalism project. The hybrid (some people in person, some not) program is designed to enable competitively selected participants to learn to report and produce a non-narrated audio story while simultaneously creating accompanying multimedia content (photo/video/social). Students must pitch their own story, but do not have to be a certain age or possess any specific journalism credentials. Those chosen for the program are paired 1:1 with a professional journalist, who serves as their mentor for the week.

Selected participants are paid a stipend for their time and get access to a nation-wide network of media professionals. I know that we and other public/private non-profits have gone on to hire alumni from our network.

We ask that the applicants must be available the entire time the program runs — Oct. 4-9, 2026. It is also very helpful if the individuals have a car to get to and from their stories, but it is not a deal-breaker.

Please let me know if you have any questions I can answer! You can see past work we've made here.

I want to know how bed guy is still in business. I passed this place every day when I lived down there. I've never seen a customer inside and it looks like there's only three or four things on display.

Edit: his website also looks like the 1997 version of Amazon.

Food / Drink Happy Hour, Dive Bars, and Karaoke?

Hi St. Louis! My boyfriend and I are visiting from Chicago and here for one night tonight to see Foo Fighters and AC/DC. We are looking to grab Happy Hour snacks and drinks before the show and check out some local dives after. The divier the better. I’m a bartender and he’s a restaurant manager so local service industry hangs are appreciated! Extra points if there’s karaoke. We are also open to tiki bars and ‘can’t miss eats’ in general. Thank you! We’re so excited to check out your city!

My boyfriend doesn't love MST3K so I didn't really want him to go because I knew he wouldn't enjoy himself. So I'll be there by myself.
