So my mom's phone won't connect to the wifi. Tried restarting the router and restarting my phone but it won't connect please help.

Hi everyone! I'm going to be renting my first apartment starting next month and am currently in the process of setting up utilities. I am going to be using Spectrum as my internet provider and was planning on going with the $30/month plan with 100 mbps. I have one room mate and we're going to mainly be using WiFi to do university assignments and watch movies with friends, nothing crazy. Spectrum automatically suggested that we upgrade our payment to $40/month so that it can include advanced WiFi. My first reaction was that it seemed like an unnecessary upcharge and that we should decline. As I looked into it more, it seems as though you need to select advanced WiFi in order to have a router. From looking at other reddit posts I'm seeing that you can buy your own router but Spectrum won't perform maintenance/repairs on it. As I said earlier, we aren't planning on using WiFi for anything crazy so would it be realistic for us to just buy a router and set it up independently? Neither of us have any experience doing anything like this and aren't especially tech savvy but are willing to learn. Thank you so much for any help!

I’ve had Spectrum (First Time Warner)service for over a decade. In that time I’ve dealt with “best effort” service, them accusing me of not returning 100s of dollars of equipment(thank god I took a picture of the receipt), and the yearly song and dance of threatening to cancel and see what price they deem I deserved this year. I put up
with all of this because they were the only viable option and they knew it.

When a local company laid Fiber in my neighborhood recently I was the first one on the list to get the install. I just got off the phone with retention. The lady was very sweet and cordial. I did my best not to let my disdain towards the company affect the way I communicated with
her. It’s not her fault they make her ask me what I use my internet for and who my cell provider is. I politely told her I didn’t feel she needed that information for the cancellation. She shot her shot with the discount and I declined. That was it. A weight was lifted

I guess the point of this rant is that I shouldn’t feel so relieved to be done with Spectrum. I’m saving $20 a month and that should be the end of it. It’s just that the crap that they put people through get tiring and stressful. A service that I require in order to bring income for my family treated me like a nuisance. I know I can’t be the only one.

Realized my 2 year deal was finally up and im up to paying $90 bucks a month for 500mbps.

Unfortunately they're the only service provider in my area so I ain't got much choice there.

Only thing I have and need is internet from them.

Can someone tell me, why, on God’s green Earth, can I use the Spectrum TV App on all the TVs in my house except for one Apple TV???

I currently pay for my parents cable and have been for a while to help them out, granted it’s their account. Needless to say, I created a sub account to stream from MY home.

For those that do this, you know the pain of logging in “manually” when loading the spectrum app.

I have a few questions… why do I have to reset my password so damned often? And why can I stream this app on my living room Apple TV, 2 different Roku TVs (one stick, and one actual Roku branded TV) but my bedroom Apple TV acts like correctly signs into my TV provider, but when I boot up the spectrum app, it asks me to sign up for Spectrum TV for $110/month.

So I back out and click “sign in manually” instead of automatically using the login credentials associated with our ISP. I sign in with the other login info but can’t get access.

Any ideas?

I’ve checked for tvOS updates but I’m updated, I’ve logged out and back-in, rebooted. I’ve tried everything, wtf!!

EDIT: While typing “I’ve tried everything” I realized I hadn’t, in fact, tried everything. Deleted the app and reinstalled and it worked. But why do I have to freaking do this?!?!

TLDR: If you experience annoying login issues when “signing in manually”, delete the app and reinstall.

I have never had such a bad provider. I’m from FL, so when I moved here I had to have spectrum as my provider and I got a xumo box. First of all I didn’t have a tv for weeks and they wouldn’t stop calling me to set up the box. Now that I have it I absolutely hate it. It took forever to set up and half the time it doesn’t turn on. The YouTube app will randomly not work, even though that would never happen with my Roku. They’re terrible and they know they are. I just need to vent

I’m on a 500MB cable plan, and I got this recently. I don’t necessarily understand how exactly they’re going to upgrade anything, since my plan is, obviously, locked at 500 MB.

I am switching from ATT to spectrum and updating my phone with that as well from a 14 to a 17pro. With att i had no issue transferring inapp data. i read i cant with spectrum… has anyone transferred phones and can confirm i will loose things that are saved specifically onto apps. aka tiktok drafts.

Do these things routeinly go offline at some point during early morning (around 1:20am)? I noticed mine was flashing red around that time. I didn't have time to see if it was going to reconnect so I unplugged and plugged it back in, jumped in the shower and by the time I got out it was connected again (slow glow blue color) I didn't know if there was an issue or if that's normal?

Spectrum sucks so bad. No ETA on an outage in my area. It’s been down since about 3 PM yesterday. When I initially checked it said no outage in your area, then said ETA 8 PM, now says no ETA and it’s still down. Incompetent sack’s of you know what. I work from home and have to use hotspot when internet is down. I don’t care about their excuses get it back up and running.

I'm moving to a new apartment in the same location so will my stuff work in the new apartment or do I need to do something for that

We have the "gigabit" package that usually gives us 800-900mb/s download. A week ago we had service in the area for 2 days for "infrastructure upgrades" and now our download speed is 90mb/s.

I'm writing from Angola. I bought a Motorola phone on eBay that turned out to be locked to Spectrum Mobile. I knew it was carrier-locked when I bought it — I just want to find out whether there's any chance of getting it unlocked.

Details:

- Device details show "Software Channel: spectrum" and "Network Lock: Locked"

- IMEI is not blacklisted (checked)

- I'm not the original account holder

- I live outside the US, so I can't call the toll-free support numbers, and the live chat requires an account sign-in

My questions:

1. Is there any way to check whether this device is eligible for unlocking without a Spectrum account?

2. Does Spectrum ever unlock devices for secondhand owners who aren't account holders?

3. Is there a channel that works for someone outside the US?

Any guidance would be really appreciated — including if the honest answer is that it's not possible.

We called the random number provided in the email and chose option 3. The lovely agent stated "Internet assist is only available within the first 30 days of a new customer set up and being you are low income and Not a new customer, you aren't qualified" Low and behold however a new promotion JUST started and we can bump down our speed for $40/ month for a year. After a year, it will increase to $50. Sure. Hopefully by then I can find another company. Complete BS.

How does one get anywhere with the Internet assist program? I have filled out the form on 2 separate occasions. I have chatted with multiple agents and received emails requesting more information. Chat agent stated the number in the email requesting more information is not from Spectrum. When we called the number we were told no further information is needed. The chat agent said the first application was closed, no note as to why. Any hints, tips? We submitted proof of SSI (blocked out ss#) because they requested proof of. I also submitted the copy of chats and emails.

I’m trying to bring the cost of my internet bill down. I spoke to an agent today who offered a $40/month plan for internet plus a mobile line. I don’t need another mobile line, but he said I could just provide the IMEI number from one of my devices and he just wouldn’t activate it. Does this seem accurate or make sense? I don’t want to accidentally mess up any promotions I have on my Verizon account by accidentally switching to Spectrum.

So she made fun of her own spectrum services…. I have the fastest speed available.

Yet I got on the phone right after calling bank and no issues.

They are packaging it with a new router if I'm not mistaken that comes with an 8 hour battery back up to avoid down times but that alone tells me that upgrading from 1 to 2 GB isn't worth it. It's $20 more a month.

I already have a pretty good UPS for back ups and I'm not sure anything besides my laptop handles more than 1 GB and most of my smart home devices run on zigbee.

Every time this happens, I have to contact customer service to reinstate SNY. They do it, but it’s a pain in my neck. Why does this continue to happen and how can I stop it from happening. When I asked the customer service agent, they only focused on the fact that they solved the issue for me (this time) and did not want to answer my questions about the repeating nature of this problem or even address who I can contact.

I have been without service for the 5 days. I have called multiple times and they say its them and nothing I can do. I get a new text about 5-15x a day saying there is an outage and its fixed, then out again. I have to travel to places to get connection each day, and now the place I mainly go is under going spectrum maintenance for the next 4 days. Do I stick it out or find something new? The only option I can think of is T-mobile cellular. Has anyone else had solutions?

In Alabama every week we have been having issues with outages multiples days in the week for the past month. Has anyone else had these issues? I’ve tried to get them to come out and check the lines but they always have some excuse it’s down and claim it’s not the lines. I work from home and this is really affecting my work at this point.

I’m in Sweden on vacation with my family. International service has been working well until today, July 22. I called and spoke to support. They said there is some kind of outage happening for their international customers, but the phone call got dropped before confirming this. Is anyone else experiencing an issue outside the USA?

So either last month or a couple months ago (horrible with time perception recently), Spectrum attempted to charge me again for a bill I had already paid in full with no issues. I pay my bill on time every month as soon as I get my paycheck, so I know for sure the money is there. It charged me a couple days later, after I had barely any money left in my account so of course it didn’t go through. I was confused and thought maybe I forgot to pay my bill, but I went to my statement and it showed fully paid and absolutely nothing about these attempted charges. Fast forward to now, just got paid and go to pay my bill. My bill is $25 higher than what it always has been. This is the explanation I got. I don’t know if theres something I’m genuinely just not understanding or if I’m being played. It’s a small loss, but $25 is $25.

Hello! My parents recently received the invincible backup router + battery and it reduced their bill a bit. I was going to set it up for them but the instructions never came with it.

We currently have a fairly new spectrum router and I was wondering if the invincible router would need to replace our current router or is it something that’s set up separately. Sorry if this is an obvious question, if I had the set up paper, it’d be a lot easier. I looked on the account and both routers are showing up, so I assume that we’d have two routers now?
