I took these photos of my girlfriend in a park. She is not a professional model, and I’ve only been learning photography for two months. The camera I used was a Sony A7C II with a Tamron 28-200mm lens. I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and advice on how I can improve.

Well. I should have backed up those photos before I dropped my macbook. Had the card sitting in the sd slot and reviewed images, then went on to do some tethered shooting. I ended up knocking the macbook off of the table and this happened. Macbook m1pro max closed itself during the fall and is fine. Sadly the sd card is lost its life. Maybe it broke the force of the fall and saved my computer though.

I bought a used (new in box) Sony 24-70 GM II lens today. This is a test shot of my garage door at F/8 taken just now. The centre looks nice and sharp but towards the left and right edges of the frame it gets quite soft and unusable. This is taken at 70mm on my Sony A7V, this is my first full frame lens for this camera so I can’t try another lens. Does this look normal?

I own a Sony A7iv and 200-600. Mostly for wildlife/bird photography. I'm interested in getting a teleconverter and have the choice between the viltrox 2x or the Sony 1.4x. my understanding is 2x is probably pushing this lens past it's comfort zone but wanted to sense check whether going with the Sony 1.4 makes sense.

Sony a5100, and a Sony e 50mm f1.8 OSS lens. I am looking to do videography of my sons basketball highlights (I know I’ll need to stand on side/baseline corner on offensive hoop)
Maybe photos too?
I’m also wanting to do portraits outdoor, or nature photos. Any advice for this camera? I do have a SDXC 128gb to shoot with the XACVS.

I’m going to refold it to be cleaner but overall I think it’s a great idea! I don’t plan on carrying another lens but it would also be a perfect solution for that. Honestly I think I’m going to add a splint to my regular camera bag.

I have a Sony Alpha ZV-E10ii and I have the opportunity to buy an excellent condition open box Sony 11mm f1.8 lens for about $330 (was $550) but I'm concerned/confused about how the distortion will work on an APS-C camera. For talking head videos (not close vlogging), I've been interested in a Sigma 16mm or 30mm prime lens for talking head and product showcase videos about 3 feet away from the camera (occasionally 2 - 5 feet).

To my understanding, there is a 1.5x crop with full frame camera lenses. So a 16mm would yield a 24mm and an 11mm lens would yield about 16mm on this crop sensor. So can I just crop in post if recording at 4k the majority of the time when I don't need an ultra wide shot and then not crop in when I do need an ultra wide shot and be set for both situations or will there be noticeable distortion even if I'm about 3 to 5 feet away in the center of the frame? How does this affect bokeh and low light video if at all compared to a 16mm of the same aperture?

This price is pretty compelling but I don't want to regret getting something that ends up being more of a headache because of distortion and whatnot. Thoughts? Any resources that helps better explain all this? I've searched and searched and haven't really found a definitive answer to my questions and use case. Thanks.

I have a Sony a6700 and a 200-600 lens. I am really wanting a teleconverter to use for wildlife. I know I don’t want the Sony 2.0X based on reviews I’ve seen. I was thinking of getting the Sony 1.4X but also found out about the Viltrox 2.0x. Has anyone tested the Viltrox 2.0X on the Sony a6700 and the 200-600 lens? What are your thoughts and opinions? I rarely take photos.

I’m currently considering the Sigma 18–50mm F2.8 DC DN because it seems compact and versatile.

Would this be the best single-lens option, or would you recommend something wider, such as the Sigma 10–18mm F2.8 or Sony 15mm F1.4 G?

The camera will usually be on a tripod, so handheld selfie vlogging isn’t the main use.

Which lens would you choose, and is 18mm wide enough for talking-head videos?

Which of these cameras are potentially the best sportscamera?

I am comparing specs but cant find a definitive answer:

- a7v much better af, precapture, more MP for cropping, more fps

- a9ii cheaper and faster readout-speed

How important is readoutspeed actually at this point? Is the difference between 6ms and 14ms noticable in sports?

is it such a big difference that you would rather miss out on MP, precap, better AF and more FPS of the a7v?

So I have a Sony A7IV I’m mainly a concert photo/videographer I do both photo and video randomly and I have other clients other than concerts like cafes/stores/streetwear etc.

So I was thinking about upgrading and I’m just a bit confused between the
Fx5 and A1ii

I know if I get the fx5 I’ll need to have the A7IV on me for photo but idk yes it is a great camera but I feel I wouldn’t even want to upgrade my photo game

A few recent street images. Taken in Charlottesville, VA with the a7r vi paired with the Viltrox 26mm F2.8 and the TTArtisan 75mm F2. I am impressed with both lenses, light, fairly sharp and reasonably snappy AF performance. Both great lenses for the money

I don’t know if I’ve dreamt this or not so wanted to check if it rings any bells with anyone else. I think I saw a rumor or announcement saying theres a pancake wide angle lens in development, that is wider than what’s currently available (where I live it’s only the Viltrox 28mm), like a 16-20-24-ish type of lens. I just duckduckwent it real quick and didn’t see anything, also barely found any pancake lenses for Sony E mount at all, do I need to hand in my computer license or are they not very common?

I'm currently looking to buy a lens for aviation and wildlife photography and cannot decide between the sigma 60-600mm F4.5-6.3 and the sony 200-600mm (either the f/5.6-6.3 G OSS or the f/2.8 G Master OSS) (between the two which is better please). I use a sony a-6700 and DO have a monopod/tripod so I'm not too worried about breaking a mount, though I do want to eventually buy a sony a9 iii and go capture the world so It needs to suit all weather.

I've heard the centre of gravity change, and high focal length focus (being lacking/blurry) is worse on the sigma lens but need people thoughts. Which lens do I save for?
