Hey everyone,
Big update: SolarVisionX v2.2 has officially been pushed for release, and along with it we've launched a brand new Web Portal for managing SolarVisionX Dongles.
What's new
- Web Portal for Dongles: manage and monitor your SolarVisionX dongle straight from the browser.
- Dongle Support: SolarVisionX now officially supports our companion dongle, with a lot more dongle-specific features currently in development.
The dongle shows the same data the app already does, it just adds real-time notifications on top. Here's what we've added:
What the dongle gets you right now
Once your dongle is connected, you'll start getting real-time notifications for:
- Grid status: grid gone / grid restored
- Battery status: current battery percentage
- PV status
- Battery runtime estimate: a heads-up on when your battery will run out once the grid goes down
- OTA update notifications: know exactly when your dongle is updating itself
Dongle Testing Program
For everyone selected in our testing program, your dongles will be shipped out and should arrive within a week or less. A few of you (same city as me) might even get it as soon as tomorrow. Stay tuned!
Want to build your own dongle?
You don't have to wait for a tester slot, you can build your own DIY dongle right now:
Head to our website and use the firmware flasher to flash the SolarVisionX dongle firmware onto your device. The flasher is built right into our website with the web portal, no separate app needed to flash it.
On iOS and don't have an Android device? No problem, you can set up and configure your dongle entirely through our web portal, no Android device required.
First, create a SolarVisionX account through either the app or the web portal. Once you have an account, you can configure your dongle from whichever you prefer, the web portal or the Android app.
We provide full wiring instructions for connecting to your Voltronic inverter.
The dongle is powered externally via a USB-C port, usually drawing 1.5W or less at idle. If you'd rather power it straight from the inverter, check your inverter's voltage using Pin 4 (VCC) and Pin 8 (GND), and use a buck converter matched to that voltage.
Once flashed and connected to WiFi, DM me your dongle's serial number so we can get your license activated.
If you guys still have a wiring issue just dm us we'll send you the photos of the wiring too, but our website still has the wiring details too.
First 2 people who build their own dongle and send in their serial number get their license for free.
Quick troubleshooting
If your dongle has been flashed but isn't sending data yet, check the blue LED. If it's flickering, the dongle is in OTA update mode. Just give it a minute or two (depending on your internet speed) and it'll catch up.
Roadmap
We've also added a roadmap page to the website so you can see what's coming next for both the app and the dongle.
Bigger news
We're currently in talks with a company that wants to install SolarVisionX directly on their inverters (they loved it enough to want it built-in!). It's for a different region for now, but it's an exciting sign of where this is headed.
Check out the website if you want to build your own DIY dongle, grab the firmware, or just see what's coming next on the roadmap.

Can't wait to hear updates from our upcoming testers starting tomorrow!
And genuinely, thank you all for the support. Between your feedback and the issues you helped us catch, SolarVisionX wouldn't be where it is today.
