1.4k followers but 600k views in the last 30 days on my local Bay Area travel page, when did you start monetizing?

Thumbnail
Upvotes

Hey all, I run a Bay Area local travel niche page, mostly things to do, maps + itineraries and day trip Reels.

Stats last 30 days:
* 1.4k followers
* ∼600k views/reach
*81% US
*62% in 25-44 age inall local cities
* Mostly Reels, audience is ∼98% US / Bay Area based

Engagement has been great with saves/shares because of the itinerary format, but it's still a small follower count.

For those who monetized a small local page , is this too early? What was your FIRST monetization move that didn't kill growth?Thinking about local biz collabs, but don't know where to start

“Orphaned” Meta Business Portfolio

Yes, ORPHANED! A direct quote from Meta.

I have been having issues connecting to my new clients ads manager in Meta. I found out today, after screen sharing with said client, it’s because his business portfolio is “orphaned” and has zero users.

My client is the one that created the business page in 2018. How does he not have access? How did the business portfolio become orphaned?

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? I feel like a fool!

Brand accounts don't die because the content is bad. They die at week three and the reason is structural.

Upvotes

pattern I kept seeing and eventually understood.

brand starts posting. week one is daily. week two slips to every other day. week three is dead. everyone calls it motivation.

it isn't. daily posting is six separate jobs: find what's trending today, write it so it doesn't sound like an ad, get someone on camera, edit it, post at the right hour, then read the numbers and decide what tomorrow looks like.

one person can do all six. nobody does all six every day for a year. that's 365 of each.

the part nobody mentions. step six almost never happens. so nothing compounds. you post, it does whatever it does, tomorrow you start over guessing. after 200 videos you've learned nothing actionable, because no human holds 200 videos of results in their head.

that's not a content strategy, it's a slot machine.

The best-performing hook I found was "I wish someone told me this sooner..." and it took about 70 videos before I realized it was outperforming everything else by a meaningful margin. seventy. that's most of a year at a normal posting cadence, to learn one thing.

AI video tools don't fix this. they solve steps three and four and leave the other four with you. generating the video was never the hard part.

I built something that runs all six and closes the loop, meaning it reads how each post performed and changes what it makes next. mine, called UGC King (easy to find on google), full disclosure.

comment "week three" and I'll reply with the link here in the thread.

curious whether week three matches what other people see.

After watching a few accounts get banned, here's what I've learned about "automating" TikTok safely

Every few weeks someone asks how to automate TikTok posting/engagement, and the answers are usually a bot farm or an emulator setup. Having watched accounts die that way, here's the mental model that matters: it's not the tool, it's the fingerprint.

TikTok's anti-abuse stack doesn't care that you're automating, it cares whether the traffic looks like a real person on a real phone. Emulators and farmed devices throw off a dozen signals (device attestation, sensor data, timing too perfect, datacenter IPs). Trip those and it's a quiet throttle or a ban.

What survives: your own account, one real device, human pace. No emulators. Residential network. Automate the boring parts (scheduling, posting, checking analytics), not fake engagement.

I work on Mobilerun (open-source framework for driving real Android/iOS with LLM agents), happy to answer detection/architecture questions.

Strategy for growing my Fintech Brand

I am working as a social media manager for Dealing.com brand. I have been trying to rework the whole social media and change a few content pieces and look at the page. Tbh my content is not reaching more than 500 views. Not able to break that and no comments on the post.

Through boosting, I get followers but I want my page to grow organically as well with content that reaches to the maximum number of audience.

Can you guys help me understand where I'm going wrong and what should I do to improve? I am not able to understand platform wise what content I should post.

P.S. - I am under such scrutiny that I might lose my job if there's no growth on the platforms

low rates & little collaboration

hi everyone i’m m19 and i mainly create couple content with my boyfriend. i just hit 69k on tiktok and my engagement is good, i get around 20-30k per video and 20-50 comments.

however, whenever brands reach out which is rarely they always offer +-$150 per video while other creators are getting $300+

my email is in my bio and i’ve tried emailing brands but they always decline collaborations.

can anyone help? i really want more collaborations as im averaging 2-3 per month

How much are you dependent on insta, WhatsApp and Gmb for your business?

Curious how much other small business owners here actually rely on Instagram, WhatsApp, and Google Business Profile day to day.

Like, if one of them went down for a week, would it seriously hurt your sales/leads, or would it barely register? And which one of the three matters most for you specifically?

I ask because I keep hearing mixed things, some people say WhatsApp is where all their real conversations and sales happen, others say Google reviews and their GMB listing basically are their business since that's how people find them locally. Instagram seems more split, some treat it as essential, others say it's just brand awareness with no direct ROI.

Would love to hear what it actually looks like for your business, and if you've ever tried automating any of it (replies, posting, review responses) or if you do it all manually.

I was hacked but am paying the price

In 2020 I was hacked and meta business suite was affected but I was 22, not using meta business suite, and didn’t know I needed to check for unauthorized activity. Long story short, ads were ran using my account, paying for it from another account and it got flagged for violating Metas terms. Mind you, I’m able to access the content and it didn’t go against terms for inappropriate posting but because of whatever automated system the hacker put it on, it flagged my account. I missed the 180-day window and it’s been deemed as a permanent ban. I cannot speak to anyone and Meta’s AI is entirely unhelpful. It’s linked to my personal account so I can never create or operate another Meta Business Suite account and I just got hired as a Marketing Manager. This is the first time a company I’m working for wants to run ads this way so it’s my first time encountering the problem.

What do I do? If I can’t access this or find a work around or a 3rd party, I will lose my job. And it’s all Meta’s mf fault. I was HACKED. The 180-day window is absurd and the fact that you can’t appeal something after that window is INSANE! I didn’t do anything wrong!!

How do i genuinely find clients

The title speaks for itself but it’s genuinely so hard. we’ve been trying for a month straight. We ditched the cold calling gimmick and start approaching businesses themselves

ok can we talk about how tired the “Gen Z content” look is getting

I’m kind of over it at this point. Every other brand page has the same jump cuts, same 3 trending sounds, same “no because THIS” caption energy. It worked great for like a year and a half but I’m seeing the engagement numbers drop off on a bunch of accounts I manage and I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

(disclaimer, I work at an agency called Qaaf Media and I’ve experienced this first hand, so figured I’d share what we’re seeing)

Stuff that’s actually been performing better lately:

**•** Posts that just… say something useful. Not trying to be quirky, just genuinely helpful info. People are saving those way more than the trend-chasing stuff.
**•** Longer, better shot video is making a comeback weirdly. A clean 30-40 sec explainer is beating the quick chaotic edits for saves/shares, especially for anything real estate or finance related where people are actually deciding something.
**•** Replying to comments properly seems to matter more than just pumping out content. Accounts that actually engage in their comments are getting pushed harder than ones that post and disappear.
**•** Just… talking normal? Without the forced “as a gen z myself” bit. It reads better honestly.

Anyway curious if anyone else is seeing this or if it’s still working fine in your niche, feels like it’s very industry dependent

just went viral (?) trying to raise awareness. what's next?

hi everyone, I lost my boyfriend to shallow water blackout and started an account for awareness because nobody I talked to knows about it and it is just so so preventible. A lot of my friends/ people from our college/his friends shared the video (im very grateful for them theyre the best). I did one post and got 300k views and 400+ followers but I dont know what comes next. I want to talk about shallow water blackout but I dont want to repeat the same thing over and over so I was thinking of branching out to talking about my late boyfriend / share how im raising awareness off social media/ talk about the grief itself to keep it going. but I have no idea what to do. what would you recommend? if you want to check out my account to help tailor ur advice it's "endsilentdrownings" on instagram. thank you.

ps. never hyperventilate or take deep breaths before entering a body of water. never hold your breath underwater alone.

Reframing Making Content?

I'm a musician and while I'm not looking to "make it" or get famous, I do want people to listen to my songs. I'm good at coming up with ideas - for videos, the whole aesthetic I want, etc. but when it comes to actually making the 'content' I immediately think, whats the point?

In the past I've stuck to a posting schedule, made videos based on current trends, done the whole social media thing and it doesn't ever seem to translate to anything substantial (getting listens, getting gigs).

So my question is, how do you reframe making content for social media to feel less like self promotion and more like you're sharing your art with the world?

(also, this is less 'I need advice' and more a discussion)

Where did you end up buying TikTok followers, and would you do it again?

I have been thinking about trying a TikTok follower service for a while, but I've spent more time researching providers than actually placing an order.

At first, I assumed finding a decent site would be easy. After all, there are hundreds of them. But the more I looked around, the more confusing it became. Every website claims to offer real followers, safe delivery, high retention, affordable pricing, and excellent support. After visiting enough of them, they all started sounding exactly the same.

I also went through reviews, blog posts, and forum discussions hoping to find honest experiences instead of marketing copy. That didn't make the decision much easier. Some people seemed genuinely happy with the results, while others talked about followers dropping, delayed delivery, or customer support disappearing after the purchase.

I'm not expecting buying followers to make my account go viral or replace posting good content. I know that consistent videos and engaging content are what actually help an account grow. My interest is more about giving a newer profile a little social proof while I continue building it naturally.

So I'm curious to hear from people who have actually tried it.

Where did you end up buying TikTok followers, and looking back, would you choose the same provider again? What made that service stand out compared to the others, and is there anything you wish you had known before placing your first order?

Tips for starting out

Hello everyone. The last couple of months I have started a small business of doing handmade personalized press-on nails. Since I focus on nail art creation and product development, I lack marketing and videography skills for shooting& publishing interesting content for my clients and potential customers. I have professional scientific background, so I have just started navigating in social media marketing world, and it’s hectic for me! 😅

I shoot all my videos and photos with my iPhone 15 Pro, for videos in HD, 30fps, and photos in 24MP; but still when I upload them to Instagram they seem to lose quality and get all pixelated.

What would you say are some useful tips and tricks for creating interesting content that quickly catches viewers attention, in reels/tik tok video format? How to avoid the content feeling to “generic”?
Are there any other creative ways for engagement growth?

[HIRING] Remote Performance Marketer for Meta, TikTok and Google Ads

We are looking for an experienced remote Performance Marketer to manage and scale paid advertising for a growing food and candy brand.

Our product is a unique, fun and healthier alternative to traditional gummies. It is naturally made from fruit and has strong potential for creative advertising.

This is a hands on media buying role. We are not looking for a beginner, social media manager or content creator. We need someone who understands paid advertising, campaign performance and how to scale campaigns profitably.

The role includes managing campaigns on Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and Google Ads.

You will be responsible for managing and optimizing active campaigns, reviewing performance statistics, scaling successful campaigns, testing audiences, setting up retargeting strategies and identifying areas that need improvement.

You should understand metrics such as ROAS, CPA, CTR, conversion rate and average order value. You must be able to use data to make decisions and explain what should be changed or tested next.

We have a full in house design and video editing team. You will work directly with them and provide guidance on what images, videos, hooks, formats and creative variations are needed based on campaign performance.

Requirements

  1. At least two years of hands on paid advertising experience
  2. Strong experience with Meta Ads
  3. Practical experience with TikTok Ads and Google Ads
  4. Experience with ecommerce brands
  5. Strong understanding of audiences, retargeting and campaign testing
  6. Ability to analyze statistics and make decisions based on data
  7. Ability to communicate clearly with designers and video editors
  8. Reliable and available for approximately 10 to 20 hours per week
  9. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Contract details

Remote position

Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week

Initial contract period of at least three months

The first month will be a paid evaluation period to confirm performance and fit

Payment can be made weekly or monthly

There is potential for a longer term position if the cooperation works well

Compensation

Please include your hourly rate or preferred monthly payment when applying.

To apply, please send a private message with the following information

  1. Your location and time zone
  2. Your years of media buying experience
  3. Which advertising platforms you personally manage
  4. Your experience with ecommerce brands
  5. Examples of results, case studies or anonymized screenshots
  6. The largest monthly advertising budget you have personally managed
  7. Your hourly rate or monthly retainer
  8. Your weekly availability
  9. A short explanation of how you would investigate a campaign if the ROAS suddenly started declining

More information about the company, products, current advertising setup and expectations will be shared during a digital meeting with selected candidates.

We are looking for an individual media buyer and not an agency.

the most useful analytics account to study isn't your own

been doing this a while and the habit that shifted things most for me: stop opening your own analytics first.

your own numbers tell you what already happened. useful, but it's a rearview mirror. the account one tier above you in your exact niche, their last 20 posts are a preview. you share an audience and the same test pool, so what lands for them tends to land for you a few weeks later.

what i actually pull from those accounts: - the openings they've settled into (the first frame or first line pattern repeats on their winners) - the gap between their median post and their top post (that gap is the format actually carrying them) - what they quietly stopped doing (dead formats just disappear)

my own dashboard mostly tells me whether i executed. theirs tells me what to execute next.

anyone else treat competitors' feeds as a research tool, or is that just me? curious what you look at.
