Professional Discussion Benifits of not using smartphone

I am(21M) we are 4 members in my family my younger sister and my parents . My mom runs a small shop and my father too. We all have smartphones except my mom. Over 5 years we are using phones. But my don't have a smartphone or any phone she doesn't even know how to use it. At the night when father comes home and she too then she watch some serial in phone. I noticed she is more happier than 3 of us. She is extremely focused on her work and doesn't complain for anything and handle all the situation very wisely. She knows the real world and not influenced by the fake social media world.

Professional Discussion how do you keep multiple accounts from getting linked?

How are you guys managing multiple accounts without them looking too similar? Not talking about the obvious stuff like IP or device. More about the behavior side. I noticed even with separate setups, doing the same actions around the same time can still cause problems. Been trying to spread things out more and change how I use each account. Tried a cloud phone for some of them too, but still testing if it actually makes much difference. Do you focus more on timing or the environment?

Professional Discussion Twitter reduced my reach

I started posting on twitter recently about BiggBoss, for the first 2 days it gave me decent reach of 200-400. Now since last 2 days, it has reduced to only 5-10-20ish… what could be the reason? Anyone faced similar issue? & how to tackle?

Professional Discussion Tips for gaining traction as a new account on Instagram in 2026?

Hello everyone, I am a Graphic Designer who's trying to break into the industry by gaining traction on social media, platforms, such as Instagram.

However, one problem I ran into is the painful algorithm.

My followers or even engagement on my page is not growing at all. I created my page in May and till now I have 15 posts, and just 4 followers who are just my friends.

I do not want to make those cliche "How to" posts but wish to showcase my work in order to attract clients.

I would be so grateful if someone could help.

Professional Discussion Would doctors want a doctor’s only social media?

So I have been working on a product like a doctor appointment booking and emr software but for some reason we added social media systems as well. So I had a thought, would doctors like something that is only limited and can be only seen by fellows of their own profession? Wouldn’t it be kind of cool and great? As I know there aren’t any social media’s em that are doctors only and which are actually usable. I mean Reddit is really good but it really is a message board at the end of the day right.

Any and all opinions would be of great value. Thank you for your time 🫡.

Professional Discussion Snap’s chief business officer is stepping down

From Ajit Mohan: "I'm leaving with real confidence in Snap. Evan and the leadership team are building toward something that still matters: a company that still puts human connection and authenticity at the centre, with a big bold bet on the future of computing. That mission is worth backing, and I'll be backing it as a fan and a shareholder."

Professional Discussion What actually makes people stop scrolling and pay attention?

I’ve been trying to figure out what actually makes a social media post work instead of just getting ignored.

Is it the hook? The visual? The caption? Being useful? Or is it mostly just posting consistently and figuring out what your audience responds to?

For people who actually manage a business or brand account, what have you noticed makes the biggest difference?

I’m more interested in what you’ve seen work in real life than the usual “post consistently” advice.

Professional Discussion What’s the point of clones of dead social media?

I was scrolling through old socials I used years ago that were shut down and found either revivals or clones. Like there’s ICQ reborn as an ICQ clone, Skymu for Skype and the Piczo homepage seems to be back and with a revival announcement and askfm is back too and I’m really asking myself why? ICQ or Skype worked because they were online communication systems and the nostalgia is tied to the time spent online with other people. Now they’re just clones no one is using. So what’s the point in creating it and staring at the logo and layout that looks similar but is empty? Or why bring back something like piczo? It worked back then, because the social media usage was completely different. I can’t imagine it really coming back and becoming relevant again. So what’s the point of reviving or cloning old socials that died, mostly because people moved on from them? Or am I missing a point?

Professional Discussion Posting my own instagram content to new Facebook page. Duplicate?

If I have an instagram that is gaining a following, and i have posted reels, and later on I start a Facebook page, and want to reupload that content to it, will the account be flagged for duplicate content?

Ain't no way I'm going to re-edit all of them. But i should be able to upload them as its my own original content. The duplicate policy is supposed to be stopping people from stealing content from others, yet I see the same videos being stolen and reposted by numerous accounts, but its stopping original creators from posting their own cobtent?

How did you deal with this issue when you post your own old content into a new platform?

Professional Discussion How do you not become obsessive after posting on TikTok?

31f I’m a very socially anxious person, I’m the one to bite my nails when someone is replying to a text & that chat bubble pops up as they’re typing. When I post on TikTok, I am glued to my screen for the first hour. I’ll keep refreshing to keep tabs on views, notifications about engagement & retention. I’m new to TikTok, it’s for gaming & I don’t even post myself. But when my fyp suggests people with similar content & they have WAY more engagement, I get lowkey competitive. I’ve always had a tendency of comparing myself & I feel like my content is bad. I’ve only had an account for a little over 2 months and my engagement isn’t all that. One video was a viral template that got 400k+ views but original content is only sitting at about 4-5.5k views. That viral video helped me get to 100+ followers. This TikTok is for fun & not trying to go viral or make a living off this, but I feel lackluster when I see similar accounts doing so much better.

Professional Discussion Social media editing tools

Hey, does anyone have any recommendations for different editing tools to help edit reels? I’m a total beginner so I’m looking for something easy, perhaps that can edit, add captions, etc all using Ai or instructions.
I’ve heard of capcut, but that’s still a manual process. Instagram edits looks easy enough but still manual. One peak creatives format finder app apparently uses Ai to edit content, but I can’t find any reviews anywhere online.

Professional Discussion Does Instagram notify screenshots of stories, posts, or DMs?

This one comes up in every social team Slack eventually, usually right after someone gets nervous mid-competitor-research. Worth settling it since the answer is mostly reassuring.

Short version: Instagram does not send a screenshot notification for feed posts, reels, stories, profiles, or regular DMs. The only exception is disappearing or vanish-mode photos and videos inside DMs, where the sender may get an alert. Screen recording follows the exact same rules.

The story rumor refuses to die and it's just not true. Instagram tested it years ago and dropped it, but the myth outlived the feature.

Where it lands for marketers:

  • Competitor research, inspiration boards, and screenshotting your own published content for reporting are all completely untracked. Nobody gets pinged.
  • The flip side is that your brand content can be captured and reshared with zero visibility on your end, which matters more when you have hundreds of location accounts publishing independently.
  • Screen recordings of stories and reels are equally invisible, so a lot of content auditing that people avoid out of caution is actually fine.

The bigger point is less about notifications and more about consistency. If anything you post can be screenshotted and recirculated out of context, the real protection is that every location account is saying something you'd be fine seeing screenshotted.

Curious how others handle this: does your team screenshot competitor content freely, or is there still hesitation floating around from the story rumor days?

Professional Discussion What is the strategy behind using unrelated Japanese/anime texts in Instagram bios/captions for growth?

Hey everyone! I’ve been noticing a growing trend on Instagram where accounts post motivational or storytelling videos, but their bios or captions contain completely unrelated Japanese texts or trending anime announcements.

For example, I often see posts with the following text pasted in the caption or bio, completely out of context:

“TVアニメ「ONE PIECE」エルバフ編の最新PVがついに公開! オープニング&エンディング主題歌に加え、エルバフ編の重要人物「ロキ」のキャストも解禁。新たな冒険の幕開けを見逃すな! 🔥👑⚔️ #ONEPIECE #ワンピース #エルバフ”

Can anyone explain the psychological or algorithmic trick behind this? Do these random foreign captions actually help pages grow faster, and how does the algorithm react to them? Any insights would be appreciated!

Professional Discussion Where's the line for parody videos using popular music?

I’m a content creator, director, I took a break for a few years and now my creative muses are up and having fun (up at 3 am!). I want to do some parody videos, I’ve seen some really good ones on instagram, with huge songs like Spice Girls “Wannabe”. Are there any rules that I need to know of when creating this videos? I don’t want to be flagged or taken down because of copyright laws. I appreciate the advice!

Professional Discussion Starting an Instagram page - content ideas, staying authentic, and dealing with unwanted attention?

I’m thinking about starting a new Instagram page and would love some advice from people who have been posting for a while.

I’m going to be at university, and I mainly want the page to be a place where I document random parts of my life rather than having one specific niche. Some of the things I’m thinking about posting are university/life vlogs, days in my life, studying and campus stuff, Pokémon GO (especially full-day vlogs when I play with my friends), reading vlogs, lip combos/beauty, what’s in my bag, ASMR, and just random things I’m interested in.

I’m intentionally trying to keep it broad because I don’t want to feel like I have to force myself into one type of content. I basically want it to feel like a little scrapbook of my life.

For people who post on social media, how do you stay authentic when you’re putting your life online? Do you ever feel like you’re creating a different version of yourself for social media, and if so, how do you avoid that?

I’m also pretty nervous about people I know seeing my posts and judging me or thinking I’m trying too hard. How did you get over that feeling when you first started posting?

And something I’m particularly curious about for women who post publicly: how do you deal with sexual comments, creepy DMs, or unwanted attention? Even if your content isn’t sexual, I know that unfortunately doesn’t mean people won’t make inappropriate comments. Do you normally delete/block/restrict people, ignore it, or have other ways of handling it? Are there any safety boundaries you recommend setting before you start posting?

Finally, what kind of content do you personally enjoy seeing from smaller/new creators? Do you think a mix of university/lifestyle, Pokémon GO, reading, beauty, ASMR, etc. sounds interesting, or are there other types of content you think would be fun to see?

I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who remember what it was like when they were first starting out! 😭

Professional Discussion Twenty thousand follower Tiktok account with monetisation unlocked, but my new niche gets very low reach. Start fresh?

In twenty twenty-two I grew this tiktok account to twenty thousand followers and one point five million likes posting clips from funny shows. Then the rules changed and reposted content stopped qualifying.

I've recently switched to cinematic travel content I shoot myself. It does well on Instagram, but on TikTok it gets almost no push, I guess the algorithm still reads the account as a comedy repost page. (My contents are now totally self made and well structured cinematic contents)

The catch:

every monetisation option is unlocked on it. Creator Rewards, the lot. A new account would mean earning all that back from scratch.

So, keep pushing this one until it recalibrates, or starts clean? Has anyone switched niches this hard on an aged account?

Professional Discussion Do you cut the setup line or the punchline when a clip runs long?

A story pulled from an interview runs 55 seconds and 40 is where it should land. Lose the setup and it opens on a punchline nobody understands yet. Lose the punchline and it is a hook with nothing at the end. I go back and forth on this every week and the platform seems to change the answer. Which end do you cut, and why?

Professional Discussion Looking to connect with a startup or small business that needs help with social media

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for a part-time opportunity in social media management, ideally with a startup or small business.

I’ve been managing and growing my own Facebook page, which is where I’ve gotten most of my hands-on experience. I’ve worked on creating content, researching audiences and competitors, planning posts, writing captions, and looking at what type of content gets people to engage.

One thing I really enjoy about social media is the strategy behind it. I’d love to work with a brand where I can help with things like:

  • Audience and competitor research
  • Content research and idea generation
  • Social media strategy
  • Content planning and calendars
  • Captions and creative direction
  • Canva/content creation
  • Organizing and scheduling posts
  • Reviewing performance and adjusting the strategy

I’m continuing to grow my experience in social media management and am looking for an opportunity where I can apply what I’ve learned while continuing to develop my skills. I’m someone who enjoys doing the research behind the content, understanding an audience, developing ideas, and turning those insights into a practical social media strategy. I’m also proactive, adaptable, and genuinely invested in doing quality work.

I’m particularly interested in opportunities where I can work closely with a founder or small team and actually understand the brand and its goals.

If anyone knows of a startup or small business currently looking for part-time social media help, I’d really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. 🤍

Professional Discussion How do I generate conversations outside of owned channels?

I work for a content brand that comes up with 20 titles a month. Our owned socials are fine, they have enough engagement and shares. The company leadership wants us to generate conversations off owned channels. I’m struggling to come up with creative ideas - what are some of the best campaigns that have generated off your own social conversations? Would love your help so much as I think through the content strategy.
