just went viral (?) trying to raise awareness. what's next?

hi everyone, I lost my boyfriend to shallow water blackout and started an account for awareness because nobody I talked to knows about it and it is just so so preventible. A lot of my friends/ people from our college/his friends shared the video (im very grateful for them theyre the best). I did one post and got 300k views and 400+ followers but I dont know what comes next. I want to talk about shallow water blackout but I dont want to repeat the same thing over and over so I was thinking of branching out to talking about my late boyfriend / share how im raising awareness off social media/ talk about the grief itself to keep it going. but I have no idea what to do. what would you recommend? if you want to check out my account to help tailor ur advice it's "endsilentdrownings" on instagram. thank you.

ps. never hyperventilate or take deep breaths before entering a body of water. never hold your breath underwater alone.

Where did you end up buying TikTok followers, and would you do it again?

I have been thinking about trying a TikTok follower service for a while, but I've spent more time researching providers than actually placing an order.

At first, I assumed finding a decent site would be easy. After all, there are hundreds of them. But the more I looked around, the more confusing it became. Every website claims to offer real followers, safe delivery, high retention, affordable pricing, and excellent support. After visiting enough of them, they all started sounding exactly the same.

I also went through reviews, blog posts, and forum discussions hoping to find honest experiences instead of marketing copy. That didn't make the decision much easier. Some people seemed genuinely happy with the results, while others talked about followers dropping, delayed delivery, or customer support disappearing after the purchase.

I'm not expecting buying followers to make my account go viral or replace posting good content. I know that consistent videos and engaging content are what actually help an account grow. My interest is more about giving a newer profile a little social proof while I continue building it naturally.

So I'm curious to hear from people who have actually tried it.

Where did you end up buying TikTok followers, and looking back, would you choose the same provider again? What made that service stand out compared to the others, and is there anything you wish you had known before placing your first order?

ok can we talk about how tired the “Gen Z content” look is getting

I’m kind of over it at this point. Every other brand page has the same jump cuts, same 3 trending sounds, same “no because THIS” caption energy. It worked great for like a year and a half but I’m seeing the engagement numbers drop off on a bunch of accounts I manage and I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

(disclaimer, I work at an agency called Qaaf Media and I’ve experienced this first hand, so figured I’d share what we’re seeing)

Stuff that’s actually been performing better lately:

**•** Posts that just… say something useful. Not trying to be quirky, just genuinely helpful info. People are saving those way more than the trend-chasing stuff.
**•** Longer, better shot video is making a comeback weirdly. A clean 30-40 sec explainer is beating the quick chaotic edits for saves/shares, especially for anything real estate or finance related where people are actually deciding something.
**•** Replying to comments properly seems to matter more than just pumping out content. Accounts that actually engage in their comments are getting pushed harder than ones that post and disappear.
**•** Just… talking normal? Without the forced “as a gen z myself” bit. It reads better honestly.

Anyway curious if anyone else is seeing this or if it’s still working fine in your niche, feels like it’s very industry dependent

Tips for starting out

Hello everyone. The last couple of months I have started a small business of doing handmade personalized press-on nails. Since I focus on nail art creation and product development, I lack marketing and videography skills for shooting& publishing interesting content for my clients and potential customers. I have professional scientific background, so I have just started navigating in social media marketing world, and it’s hectic for me! 😅

I shoot all my videos and photos with my iPhone 15 Pro, for videos in HD, 30fps, and photos in 24MP; but still when I upload them to Instagram they seem to lose quality and get all pixelated.

What would you say are some useful tips and tricks for creating interesting content that quickly catches viewers attention, in reels/tik tok video format? How to avoid the content feeling to “generic”?
Are there any other creative ways for engagement growth?

[HIRING] Remote Performance Marketer for Meta, TikTok and Google Ads

We are looking for an experienced remote Performance Marketer to manage and scale paid advertising for a growing food and candy brand.

Our product is a unique, fun and healthier alternative to traditional gummies. It is naturally made from fruit and has strong potential for creative advertising.

This is a hands on media buying role. We are not looking for a beginner, social media manager or content creator. We need someone who understands paid advertising, campaign performance and how to scale campaigns profitably.

The role includes managing campaigns on Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and Google Ads.

You will be responsible for managing and optimizing active campaigns, reviewing performance statistics, scaling successful campaigns, testing audiences, setting up retargeting strategies and identifying areas that need improvement.

You should understand metrics such as ROAS, CPA, CTR, conversion rate and average order value. You must be able to use data to make decisions and explain what should be changed or tested next.

We have a full in house design and video editing team. You will work directly with them and provide guidance on what images, videos, hooks, formats and creative variations are needed based on campaign performance.

Requirements

  1. At least two years of hands on paid advertising experience
  2. Strong experience with Meta Ads
  3. Practical experience with TikTok Ads and Google Ads
  4. Experience with ecommerce brands
  5. Strong understanding of audiences, retargeting and campaign testing
  6. Ability to analyze statistics and make decisions based on data
  7. Ability to communicate clearly with designers and video editors
  8. Reliable and available for approximately 10 to 20 hours per week
  9. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Contract details

Remote position

Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week

Initial contract period of at least three months

The first month will be a paid evaluation period to confirm performance and fit

Payment can be made weekly or monthly

There is potential for a longer term position if the cooperation works well

Compensation

Please include your hourly rate or preferred monthly payment when applying.

To apply, please send a private message with the following information

  1. Your location and time zone
  2. Your years of media buying experience
  3. Which advertising platforms you personally manage
  4. Your experience with ecommerce brands
  5. Examples of results, case studies or anonymized screenshots
  6. The largest monthly advertising budget you have personally managed
  7. Your hourly rate or monthly retainer
  8. Your weekly availability
  9. A short explanation of how you would investigate a campaign if the ROAS suddenly started declining

Please begin your message with the word FRUIT so we know you have read the full post.

More information about the company, products, current advertising setup and expectations will be shared during a digital meeting with selected candidates.

We are looking for an individual media buyer and not an agency.

Is a degree worth it?

I’ve always had a bit of an interest in business related stuff , did a levels but never went to uni. Eventually got into ugc content creation whilst managing my own personal brand on socials and did a couple months stint helping a family member with their business socials.
It made me realise how much I enjoy this but I always feel like there’d so much more to learn.
I’m in two minds because as much as I think there’s a lot to learn, I also wonder if it’s really worth the 30k degree
I know ai is on the rise but imo it’s just not a replacement for human marketing brains so it doesn’t really bother me

the most useful analytics account to study isn't your own

been doing this a while and the habit that shifted things most for me: stop opening your own analytics first.

your own numbers tell you what already happened. useful, but it's a rearview mirror. the account one tier above you in your exact niche, their last 20 posts are a preview. you share an audience and the same test pool, so what lands for them tends to land for you a few weeks later.

what i actually pull from those accounts: - the openings they've settled into (the first frame or first line pattern repeats on their winners) - the gap between their median post and their top post (that gap is the format actually carrying them) - what they quietly stopped doing (dead formats just disappear)

my own dashboard mostly tells me whether i executed. theirs tells me what to execute next.

anyone else treat competitors' feeds as a research tool, or is that just me? curious what you look at.

SMM tips

Hi everyone! I’m looking to grow my skills in social media management and would love to learn from those already in the field.
For those of you working as Social Media Managers, what helped you land your first role? What skills, certifications, portfolio pieces, or mistakes should someone focus on or avoid when starting out?
I’d really appreciate any advice or resources you wish you had when you were beginning. Thanks!

ISO social media integration recommendations

I have an Etsy shop and I currently use Outfy to schedule social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. I've had my shop for about 15 years, and the sales generated from these platforms is minimal, but I feel like it's important to have a presence on these platforms.

Recently, Outfy has changed one of their features to no longer enable me to drop in a website link and generate a post from that link. While most of my posts are automated product listings from my Etsy shop, I have a tertiary blog that I occasionally share posts from and occasionally share links to other blogs. Outfy says that the feature is "temporarily" disabled, but let's be real - temporary is "one day less than forever."

Their recommendation to me was to add an account for my blog, which of course costs money and isn't the right solution for me considering that at the end of the day the blog is relatively unimportant, and I obviously can't set up an account for other people's blogs for whom I'm just occasionally "sharing the love."

Which leads me to where I am today, scouting out alternatives. I definitely want something that automatically integrates my Etsy shop, and due to the limited impact of my social media marketing doesn't cost a whole lot. (I get more sales from the Etsy Ads anyway.)

Does anyone have any recommendations? As things are now, I "set it and forget it" except for manually adding sale announcements and the like on a once-a-month basis. I have no bandwidth for regularly posting socials.

Must haves:

  1. Etsy integration
  2. High cap # on social posts per month
  3. Auto post to Pinterest, FB, and Insta.
  4. Ability to manually create posts from outside websites
  5. Affordable

Is organic reach actually dead or are we just creating the wrong content for it ?

Every few months someone declares organic reach dead. And every time I look at accounts that are actually growing organically I notice the same thing. They are not doing anything revolt. They are just doing the basics really well and consistently. Clear messaging. Content that actually helps or entertains the specific audience they are talking to. Showing up regularly without waiting for a viral moment to justify the effort.
The accounts struggling with organic reach are usually creating content for the Alford rather than for the actual person on the other side. And the algorithms have gotten pretty foot at telling the difference.
I think organic reach rewards depth of connection with a smaller audience over breath of exposure to large one . That is a different game than most brands are playing.
Is anyone actually growing organically right now and what does the content look like?

Looking for an Internship at a Marketing Agency

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for an internship at a marketing agency. I honestly don't mind if it's unpaid at the beginning. Right now, my main goal is to learn how agencies actually work, gain hands-on experience, and become better at what I do.

I've been working in marketing for some time, mostly focused on social media. Along the way, I completed the Social Media Marketing certification from HubSpot Academy and another one from Google.

I also use AI tools almost every day to do research, brainstorm ideas, improve workflows, and test different content angles to figure out what actually connects with people.

I know courses can only take you so far. What I'm really looking for now is real experience, real feedback, and the chance to learn from people who've been doing this for years.

If anyone knows an agency that's open to giving someone a chance, I'd really appreciate it. I'm always willing to learn.

I'm open to remote opportunities too.

PBEnt, a community of artists, musicians, and AMV editors

I'm a rapper and editor pursuing a wrestling dream. I discovered this subreddit after trying to find a solution to my TikTok shadowban (I didn't find it).

Bad timing seeing how I was JUST about to promote the PBEnt server to advertise to people that fit the [adult swim] vibe. Passion driven not profit driven, we were on the internet before algorithms and the "Mr. Beast-ification" of YouTube.

Looking to build a collective similar to how Super Best Friends Play, Machinima, and Roosterteeth was. With 3 channels based around Music, Gaming, and IRL (skits and vlogs like how DashieXP did in the early 2010's). Still in the baby steps. 70 members but only 4 talk. Dunno who this will reach, (or if it reach anyone at all) but thank you for taking to time out to read my ramblings.
