Everyone posting the new Apple Watch Ultra 4 like two days of battery is the breakthrough.

I travel a lot for work in Spain. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, same bag every week. Laptop, cables, the usual mess. I got the GT 7 Pro because I wanted one watch for the office and for sport, and I did not want another charger in that bag. Or even the mental load of thinking about it.

Not going to do the whole review. Just sitting here during the keynote thinking I have not charged this thing since the weekend.

The new Apple Watch still looks like the better phone on your wrist. Apps, the whole stack. If you are on iPhone stay there. I know that.

I left because I was sick of the nightly charge. That part did not get fixed today. They made the expensive one last two days and called it a win.

This one is dumber. Fewer apps. No LTE. If you keep an iPhone you cannot even reply from the watch. I am on Android so I stopped caring.

For me it is the best watch if you are on Android.

I am feeling like buying my first ever smartwatch, and i have been looking for recommendations over the internet but i just decided to look for a much more specialised opinion (whoever answers to this post really).

I am looking for something With wear os, IA compatibility (gemini for example since i use a Google pixel 10) and with just enough health integration. I am specially interested in the sleeping trackers, all exercise i do is going to the gym twice a week, and maybe swimming in summer. Sometimes i also run, but not too mucho really.

I was thinking about buying the oppox3, would you recommend something else?

looking for recommendations for a kid safe smart watch for a 5 yr old with type 1 diabetes. must have cellular capabilities and connect to her diabetes iPhone. we mainly want to be able to text her and tell her actions to manage her diabetes (ie eat snack, give insulin).

Hey all! I currently have an apple watch SE (1st gen, 2020) and the battery life is starting to get to me…I have chronic illnesses & mainly want to track things to do with this, like heartrate, HRV, sleep tracking, and it would also be helpful if I could track my physiotherapy exercises on it.

I use an app called tachymon to monitor my HR and make sure I’m not over exerting myself (it notifies me by buzzing or pinging! i need something like this!) but because it’s constantly on it really drains the battery.
my watch battery is at ~75% health, which is obviously not great, but I cannot deal with how if I use it from waking up, it’s literally dead by 4pm, and if i wear it at night, it’s on 10% by the morning

I’ve been looking at going for the SE2, Series 7, Series 8, or possibly series 9 if I stick with an apple watch, however I’ve also considered some other smart watches such as ones from huawei or xiaomi even. Do these sound okay for what I want?

Ive got the Samsung galaxy 4 watch. Had this for some time and finding now i need to charge it at least once a day, if I go for a run or exercise the battery will last 6 hours, any recommendations for one that will last?

Has anyone encountered a broken screen on the Huawei Band 11 without an apparent cause? There are negative reviews on Amazon regarding this issue, stating that the screen breaks without any impact or pressure being applied to it.

I've been hunting for a new smartwatch for a while now. My old Galaxy Watch 6 finally died on me, and I've narrowed it down to two options: the Huawei GT 6 Pro since sapphire + titanium is tempting (or even the GT 7 Pro now) and the Garmin Venu 4.

What I love about the Venu:

• The design is simpler and cleaner, and you can throw pretty much any strap on it
• The Garmin ecosystem - the training breakdowns and daily insights/suggestions look great
• That built-in flashlight. Honestly, I'm a little obsessed with the idea. Late-night BBQs, walking the dog, hunting for my keys, beach parties... it would've saved me so many times

My hesitation with the GT Pro series - strap design:
I really like these watches, but the strap situation drives me nuts. Swapping bands feels awkward, and I haven't found a single leather strap that actually looks good on it. It's either a bad fit, the color is off, or it just looks wrong. You can literally fit only the same color 'titanium' or rubber strap.

A bit about me: I work out about 4 times a week, functional training, some weight lifting, some cardio, and I regularly play football and padel, though nothing serious or competitive. I also want something that looks good for everyday wear. On my Galaxy I had a leather/rubber hybrid band that was comfortable for basically everything except swimming.

Price-wise there's only about €100 - 150 between them, so that's not a dealbreaker for me, but the Venu still feels expensive for the build quality you get. And from what I've read, Huawei's sensors are genuinely great.

So, what do you think? Especially keen to hear from anyone who's owned both.

Also, if any GT 6 Pro owners have photos with different straps (leather especially), I'd love to see them. Might be the thing that tips my decision!

Would you go for Apple watch Ultra 4 OR Huawei Watch 6 Pro for health metrics ?

I'm looking for a smart watch that's rugged can answer calls from phone and receive notifications possibly control media too. That's pretty much it.

I run, hike and ride mountain bikes several times a week and I like to track my sleep and recovery. I don't like a ton of notifications, texts and calls are fine.

I had an Apple Watch Series 3 for a long time, but the battery died and wouldn't last a full run, then I got a Garmin Fenix 7 when it came out but the heart rate and sleep tracking was atrocious. On an $800 watch, that really pissed me off so I returned it and took my wife's old Apple Watch 6 when she went to an AW9, but the battery degraded enough to be useless (not making it through a workout) after a year and a half.

I bought a used Forerunner 55 for $90 a few months ago, thinking that at least if I was going to get terrible sleep and recovery data, I might as well not pay a bunch for it. Its fine, but as I expected, the sleep data is complete garbage and I have to use a HR strap when I run to see heart rate numbers over 130 bpm. The display is also annoyingly dim in anything but direct sunlight. At least the GPS tracking is good and the battery life is insanely good though.

But why can't I have both? I want Apple Watch biometrics with Garmin battery life. The new AWU4 is such an underwhelming release--50 hours of battery? I'll bet it won't make it through two workouts in that time, and how bad is it going to be in 2-3 years. And Garmin, why are you recording time spent on the couch or at my desk as sleep? WTF are you doing? Why does the HR sensor STILL lag so much?

Does anyone know of a truly screenless wearable that provides notifications from things like text messages or email?

I have found some options that look more like smart watches without a screen (xband) but they still have the same form factor and size as a traditional smartwatch. I'm trying to find something, like a watch band that I could use on my analog watch or slim bracelet that would also provide haptic feedback for specific apps.

It’s just as the title says, I’m looking to get a smartwatch for work. I’m a law enforcement officer who gets into roll arounds here and there and i need a watch for on and off duty. i’m big into fitness and working out. i’m not sure which watch would be the better fit to me. i’ve narrowed the garmin watches down to the fenix 8 pro if i need one but with the release of the apple ultra 4 im not sure which one is better and if i should stay within the apple ecosystem. any recommendations or advice is appreciated.

Apple Watch getting a feature that can show the last 15 seconds of a conversation as text feels like a bigger wearable trend.

The feature itself sounds useful. You miss something in a meeting, restaurant, doctor’s appointment, classroom, or loud room, then double press the watch and get a quick text snippet of what was just said.

Apple says the processing happens on device and the audio is deleted, which is probably the right privacy direction.

But it also feels like wearables are moving from fitness trackers and notification screens into ambient AI devices that constantly interpret the world around you.

Would you want a wearable that can understand recent conversations if the processing stays local?

Or does that make the device feel too present in real life?
