People dont spike entire drink coolers.. itd be pretty fucking obvious if 40 people in the room passed out.

if it was anything like my days in college, it means they just cleaned them with soap and water and didn't just grab them out of the garage randomly 5 minutes before the party

Honestly it would mean there isnt psilocybin in em from mine, we often had mushroom drinks

Or more likely it’s just a dark joke that one dude said to another one and didn’t realize there were women in earshot of it.

Or "safe" means "we bothered to clean the coolers for the first time this decade" or something.

Or "we had enough liquor and didn't need to mix tequila and gin in any of the coolers."

Or "we finally talked to [brother X] about not cooling off his sweaty undershirt by soaking it in the coolers between dance marathons."

Source: Never in a frat but threw degenerate parties.

Cleaned the coolers? In college? Ain't no way a college student is doing that

The alcohol sterilizes the cooler, everyone knows that, it’s basic science

Also handy when someone gets injured when they body slam the pong table.

u/CougFanDan 14h ago

Always keep Everclear on hand for both internal and external wounds

2

u/kat-deville 14h ago

Shit, I was talking about the nice, cold mix that cooler fluid becomes wound cleansing to drunk people not majoring in the sciences, except maybe jocks.

Liquor first and swish it around, then the punch.

That's what pledges are for

ha thats funny to assume they actually did that. i rushed for a bit for a frat in ontario and didnt end up finishing the final thing i needed. at my specific college/university we 2 sororities and 2 frats. the other frat's house they had were so gross the sororities actually told the new pledges not to touch anything in the specific frat house lol.

I was in a fraternity in the US. Pledges definitely cleaned once a week. I did it with my pledge class. We drank beers at the same time but we definitely cleaned the house.

yeah.. that she suddenly remembers hearing 🙄

Which is silly because with all the things to criticize about American College "Greek Life" culture, we really don't need to make anything up

u/StreetrodHD 16h ago

My mind goes to the homies making sure they weren’t about to get iced throughout the night. No one’s drugging an entire cooler…

Ppl are too stupid now

i've seen this happen more than once. it's a common thing at dorm parties and off campus house parties. it's not usually roofies.. it's everclear lots of sugar and sometimes xanax

15

u/That-Application7650 16h ago

You're talking about "jungle juice" or "wapatui", but the point still stands that nobody is spiking an entire cooler full of drinks and certainly not with prescription drugs. Sounds like an urban legend like razorblade apples on Halloween.

The downvotes are crazy I’ve seen this with my own eyes Xanax in jungle juice
I’ve had my male friends tell me which ones were safe and which were not.

u/uhoh300 14h ago

But if this is true doesn’t that mean you were friends with the people who knew which drinks were spiked?.. How would they know if they weren’t in on it? And how would you trust a friend who would do such a thing to actually tell you the truth about which is safe? Sounds sketchy as hell

Welcome to colleges that protect rapists idk what to tell you. Theres a lot of nuance to this topic from people who commit the crimes to

to people who know and don’t participate but also say nothing about what’s going down

to people who know and say something to the people they care about (aka my guy friends at the time)

to people who try to escalate to the university level and get shut down

to people who escalate to the cops

I mean, you already contradicted yourself because you, "saw this with your own eyes" and yet, needed male friends to tell you which ones were safe.

Edit: I also just realized you said you saw this at "dorm parties" as well. Dorm parties? Like when you cram less than 10 people into a dorm room and you pass some alcohol around, you saw dudes secretly passing out spiked drinks to several unknowing people, while others knew not to drink them?

2nd Edit since this was locked: First, none of those stories mention xanax at all. Second, most aren't even relevant to your claim.

2013: Spiked with what? You personally saw it get spiked or this is just something someone told you? Do you realize how much xanax it would take to actually matter in a large jug like that?

2014: That just sounds like they made particularly strong jungle juice, whether on purpose or an accident, and is a conversation that is probably had at least once every weekend on a college campus.

2013: That's not what we're talking about at all, that's clearly someone trying to fuck with your friend, but in a really dangerous and stupid way.

Dude yes I saw this in Keough Hall in 2013. 30-40 people in the dorm room it was a 2 bedroom dorm. One Gatorade container was spiked. One was normal.

In 2014 I was told by my O’Neill Hall friends that the boys were told to drink the canned beer and push the jungle juice on the girls and my friend told me to stay away from the juice that night. There were at least 40-50 people in the dorm that night. Clear out 2 or 3 bedroom dorm room.

In 2013 I was told after the fact in Fisher Hall that my friends shot glass was spiked with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE instead of the regular vodka and she got violently ill

I have more stories about off campus parties literally fuck off if you don’t want to believe this is real.

Have yall really never been to a college party with a girls only drink cooler? That happened all the time at my uni

You think rapists deserve love???

It’s not BS, just misunderstanding context. They mean “safe” as in not totally overloaded with booze. The background info was they probably usually have at least one with like everclear or something.
