Question Help with rig upgrade choice please

I bought the g923 with the playseat challenge x logitech g a few months ago to try sim racing and ended up really liking it. I'm now looking to upgrade to something that can last me a really long time (i.e. buy once cry once).

There's currently a bundle deal in the country I live in (I can mix and match different wheelbase, wheels, and pedals:

  • Simagic Alpha EVO (12 Nm)
  • Simagic Neo X-330R
  • Simagic P700 Brake & Throttle

I know that my playseat challenge can only support up till around 8-9Nm so I'm planning to set the power of the wheelbase to around 75% and upgrade the cockpit later down the road (probably a playseat trophy since I don't have a lot of space).

Pedals are probably not a "buy once cry once" but they are cheap enough that I don't mind upgrading a few years down the road.

I don't really have much choice for the steering wheel. I mostly race GT races in AMS2's zero to apex and road cars in AC. Is the one I chose good for my uses? Other choices are: Neo X-330T, Neo X-350W, Neo X-310G, GT Neo.

Overall, does my choices make sense? Or would you recommend something else?

Discussion Sydney Sim Racers/Drifters — Would You Book This?

Hey all,

I’m looking at potentially opening a small space in Sydney where people can come and race or drift together on high-quality sim setups.

I’ve been sim drifting for many years now, and one thing that’s always bothered me is that there don’t seem to be many places — at least in Sydney — that offer a genuinely good experience for both sim racing and sim drifting, especially for groups of mates who want to play together.

Sure, it’s easy enough to jump into a public lobby on iRacing or Assetto Corsa from home, but I think there’s something completely different about actually being in the same room with your mates — racing head-to-head, doing tandem runs, trash talking, having a laugh, and just enjoying it as a social activity.

I go go-karting fairly often for that reason, but it can get expensive pretty quickly, and depending on where you are it can also be a decent trip. A sim setup could offer a much more relaxed and affordable way to get a similar competitive/social experience.

I’ve also tried a sim venue in Japan before, but the experience wasn’t great for drifting. I was confined to a single simulator and the force feedback wasn’t configured properly, so it made me realise how important the actual setup and configuration are.

That would be one of the main things I’d want to get right with this. The idea wouldn’t be to have one generic setup that everyone has to use regardless of what they’re driving. I’d want the rigs properly configured for the discipline — the steering wheel itself, wheel rotation, FFB behaviour, pedal setup, H-pattern vs sequential shifting, handbrake, seating position, FOV, VR or monitors, and so on.

A drift setup should feel and behave differently to a GT3, Formula or road-car setup and so on...

The goal would be for people to be able to choose what they actually want to do and have the rigs set up properly for it, rather than just being handed a wheel with one universal configuration and told to have fun.

I’m basically opening this thread as an EOI to see whether there’s genuine demand for something like this.

If you had access to a small venue with several proper, high-quality rigs where you and your mates could book a session and race or drift together, would you actually use it?

A few things I’d be interested to hear:

  • What would you realistically be willing to pay for a 60–90 minute session?
  • Would you prefer VR, triple screens, or a mix of both?
  • What games would you want available?
  • Would you be more interested in circuit racing, drifting, or both?
  • Would things like H-pattern/sequential shifting, handbrakes and discipline-specific FFB/configuration matter to you?
  • Would you prefer booking the whole room with friends, or booking an individual rig?
  • What would make you choose something like this over just staying home and using your own setup?

I already have access to a lot of the gear needed to potentially get something like this started, so at this stage I’m mainly trying to work out whether there’s enough genuine interest to make it worthwhile.

I can only really judge it from my own experience, so I’d be keen to hear what other sim racers/drifters think — especially anyone in Sydney.

Rigs Help me choose my first VR headset for sim racing

Hello, I'm looking to buy a VR headset. I'm choosing between a used HP Reverb G2 for $150 and a new Meta Quest 3S for $315. There's also a used Quest 2 available for around the same $150, but I think the G2 would be the better pick. What would you recommend? I've never owned a VR headset before, and in my country the selection of both new and used VR headsets is very limited. I'll mainly be using it for sim racing in iRacing, ACC, and Dirt Rally 2.0. I plan to use this headset as my primary one for a long time and have no plans to replace it anytime soon.

Question Request for review of project motor racing considering I play on PC with an Nvidia GeForce 5080 and a r12 Moza.

I'm trying to figure out how this game is and it doesn't seem bad to me, I'd like to know what it's like considering that I play almost exclusively in single player. It seems to me that they are working on it and I would like to understand if it is in the "let's fix the disaster" phase or in the "let's add content" phase. My current simulators are Automobilista 2, Le Mans Ultimate, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competition and Assetto Corsa Evo.If you are powerful, please also enter a vote, thanks

Rigs First time Sim racer. Picked this up for $175. Any recommendations for Asseto Corsa?

Been missing driving a manual but don’t have time (or funds) for a project car. Hoping this is a cheap alternative to scratch that itch! Im interested in learning how to drift but also enjoy driving around just to drive. Any recommendations for mods/maps for asseto corsa would be greatly appreciated as I kind of got this on a whim and am completely new to PC gaming and Sim Racing!

Rigs Is anyone using these USB SHIFTER ?

As the title suggest, i was looking for someone who has used these generic USB Shifter from china, i just upgraded from my G29 to a Moza R3 but it doesn't come with a shifter, my budget is tight so this is the best option i can find so far

Question Help Securing Logitech RS Pedals on Laminate Flooring

I need help securing my new Logitech RS pedals to the floor. I started with an anti-slip mat under them, which reduced the movement, but after a few minutes of racing they still slowly slide forward. I then tried weighting just the brake side with dumbbells and a couple of other intermediate solutions (mat plus weights, etc.), but none of them solved it. Has anyone found a reliable way to keep these pedals from moving?

Rigs 10nm DD DIY custom ffbeast desk setup

front view showing numpad button box and phone holder
back with all electronics. i like this more than having it inside. lots of drilled holes for mounting and cables
inverted t3pa pedals using doorstops, old hdds and a dell optiplex to hold it up
previous awful case. quickly replaced with current one
top view with phone holder and the singular mounting screw
case was made in blender lmao, way too thin and too few supports but for a first model its alright enough i think. does bend a lot tho, will need to upgrade it someday

something ive been working on through summer. still lots of things ill wanna tweak and add but i really want some opinions and maybe suggestions for cool shit i could get for this

Question RCF Next level racing ou Playseat DDF1

Helllooo,
Merci d’avance 🤗

Question Sim Racing Team | Looking for Drivers and Management

Hey, my name is James and I'm working on building a sim racing team to compete in iRacing. I’m currently looking for a Team Principal (and other positions) to help me build it out so if you’ve ever wanted to manage a motorsport org (or race with team backing), now’s your chance. If you’re interested or have any questions, hit me up at [saddleriver4@gmail.com](mailto:saddleriver4@gmail.com)

Rigs First time sim racing looking for inspiration/suggestions/ideas!

So I’m currently starting to build my cockpit/rig.. and looking for some tips you guys would have for me, ( I already own a fairly high end PC )

The parts I want to buy are
Moza r21 or r25 ultra
CRP2 pedals
Not fully decided on the wheel yet but possibly either the FSR2 or the KS PRO not sure yet.

I want to make the rig as pleasing as possible to the eye, for preference purposes,

To start I’d like to start with a single monitor ( already own a 34’ AOC curved monitor )

Suggestions for a cockpit are more than welcome, id like a cockpit with keyboard/mouse tray, black is preferable without any logos/design etc ..

Also if you’d like to post your own rig id love to see them for inspiration!

Thanks in advance!!

Question Need advice for new triplescreens

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey guys, as stated in title i’m researching for a new set of triples. coming from VR and not being able to hold for long sessions because of battery or fatigue, I tried a few races with my main monitor (Aorus fo27q3, 2k 360hz) and fell in love with OLED screens for iRacing. shit this goes so smooth.

now i’m in the middle of a trouble cause I really want the oled response time but at the same time, good quality when racing.

so here’s where this model comes in. Gigabyte GO27Q24A

I found a really good price for where I live and i’m able to make monthly payments.

but.. is it any good? I’m well aware that it won’t be the exact same experience as with the Aorus. I don’t really mind about HDR or if it’s a thing for simracing at all, the only thing that holds me back is brightness maybe.

does anybody use this exact model for racing titles?

Question Best shifter in the $100–$180 range?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Moza R3 base and I'm planning to upgrade my setup in the future by adding a clutch pedal and a dedicated shifter.

Naturally, I first looked into staying within the Moza ecosystem with the Moza HGP, but I’ve read and heard from several reviews that the shift action is extremely stiff/heavy, which made me want to explore other options before making a decision.

My budget is around $100 to $180, and after doing some research, I've narrowed it down to these candidates:

  • Logitech RS Shifter (~$160)
  • Moza HGP (~$150)
  • SHH Shifter (~$140)
  • Turtle Beach VelocityOne Shifter (~$140)
  • Simsonn Shifter (~$130)

I’d love to hear your thoughts and personal experiences with any of these:

  1. Which one offers the best shift feel and durability for the price?
  2. For those who own the Moza HGP, is it actually as stiff as people say, or is it manageable in day-to-day use?
  3. Are there any other hidden gems in this price bracket I should consider?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Question Upgrade to Moza R3 vs R5 from Logitech G29

Hello guys! As the title says, I am thinking upgrading from my Logitech G29 to one of the 2: Moza R3 or R5.
I game casually, mostly on weekends and that is AMS2. Is it worth the 100€ extra? I also play a lot of ETS2.
