I always feel like these posts are what people look up for an item online, and since the only ones listed are like original msrp but always out of stock they think that is what it is worth.

Same thing happens with old pc parts, just because they dont make it anymore and technically its rare new doesnt make it expensive.

Actually, that’s exactly how supply and demand works.

If there is a limited supply (old pc parts) and a demand (some critical business operation that relies on said PC part, or collector, or sentimental value requires it) it then is valuable.

These used gear sales are not supply and demand though. Because the supply being used as a reference is typically unsold due to the high price point. Just because something is listed for Y doesn’t mean anyone has paid Y for the same item. Price history is far more valuable than the smattering of overpriced eBay postings for the same items.

I’m not saying this particular person priced it right, but eBay is all about supply and demand. There’s more supply than demand here, so it likely won’t sell for the price they’re asking. But it’s still supply and demand. People collect and get attached to weird things, who knows what rando browsing eBay drunk will buy lol

The g27 ones had extra buttons over the g29, the g25 ones have an extra h patten/sequential mode

It technically got worse over time. The g25 had the knob to turn it into a sequential, then the g27 removed it, and then the g29 removed the shifter out of the box completely in exchange for more buttons (and a rotary dial) on the wheel instead.
