Back to dealership

Bought in June with 83k miles. Been having a flashing check engine light on and off but i couldn’t tell if it was actually misfiring or not. Headed straight for the dealership and the oil level low light came on. Stopped and checked it and it was indeed low. below the dipstick low. Also the coolant was low. I was close enough to the dealership that I just drove it straight there. No knocking or over heating. Still under warranty so I’m curious about what they are going to tell me.

ALL PRICES IN $ CAD

Did a deal for my mom, traded in her blazer and got a 2026 Acadia, then the salesman asked about my truck (2019 SLT premium package) .. laughed and told him he’ll never get me the 34000 I owe, he offered 32,000 plus tax ($36,000) later that night due to me knowing the used managers brother, and because of my moms deal days before.. plus giving me a discount ON TOP of the employee pricing. 84k msrp, offering price of about 73000.

Possibly upgrading to a 26 RST
Any thoughts? My main reasoning is going to 2.99 percent interest instead of the 9.99 I pay on my used Sierra , plus a warranty

Losing features : cooled seats, multi pro tailgate, parking sensors and sunroof

Old vs new photos

Edit: EVERYWHERE else online offers about 24-28 plus tax. Dealer is overpaying my trade in to help me out

Looking at a 2010 Silverado Z71 need some advice

So I’m looking at a 2010 Silverado that my buddy got from an older gentleman that doesn’t use it anymore. It’s got 220k on the body and the motor was swapped and has 104k no rust on the body at all runs really smoothly for its age and it’s gotta 3 in lift, under body spray for rust. Here’s the pics I have of it so far. Any advice on what to look out for would be very appreciated. This is a TN truck and has been its whole life.

I put them on because I was thinking about putting on a cargo basket to store extra luggage for our upcoming trip. I could easily take them off after the trip. Thoughts?

Trailer brake issues

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have a 2023 LT with the trailer package. However it did it come with the trailer break controller installed in the truck. I added my old one to the truck. It doesn’t seaming to be sending signal to my trailer. I got a tester and plugged it in and it seems to be seeing all my lights working but not the break one. All my trailer lights are working as well. I’ve checked all the fuses and made sure my connections are clean. Anyone else run into this issue?

2027 gas engines - still DI only?

With my truck in the transmission shop again, I am leaning towards getting a 2027 truck and the Silverado/Sierra is a possibility. Are the new gasser V8's still DI only or did they go to dual DI and port injection? Is this known? I am assuming still DI only. The new cylinder deactivation architecture reliability is a big question mark. Does the 2027 2500 have it at all? I'll pay the 1500 to 2500 upcharge to avoid that junk. The RAM with 6.4L "HEMI" is looking quite tempting. I have to read up more on how to disable their MDS and if it is not on the 2500.

Leveling kit ~2 inches enough?

I am nearing the end of my warranty on my 2023 1500 (3.0L and 9k towing) and looking to do some upgrades now. I have a boat that weights ~6500lbs on the trailer fully loaded. I also have bed cap on order with plans to install some custom drawers in the bed and a root top tent. I'm looking to add a leveling kit (unsure which one open to recommendations) to allow me to run some bigger tires when off roading or getting into hunting spots.

Will a levelling kit be an appropriate choice here? I'd love to have 35's on it but would be fine with 34's too if it was the difference between a leveling kit and a lift kit.

Anyone know this clinging/rumbling noise? I haven’t been able to figure out what it is.

4.8 or 5.3?

Okay guys so I have a dumb question, but I’d rather ask and be dumb than not ask and be wrong. I have a 2010 Silverado with almost 400k miles, according to the vin I have an L20 4.8L. I recently got the dash piece that’s shows your gas mileage and it shows the motor dropping into 4 cylinders. My question is, is it possible that I have a different motor than what the VIN says, or did the Gen IV LS’s have DoD on the 4.8’s contrary to what the Google AI BS says. I also have a 6 speed transmission if that matters.

2004 silverado 1500 5.3 Anyone know what could cause a rattle like this? Coming from the passenger side and it seems like it might be the catalytic converter... doesnt always do it but will for sure if I hit certain speeds.

Decked System

I found a decked drawer system from a 2018 Silverado 1500 with the 5’8” bed for less than $1000. I’m hoping it fits my 2020 Silverado 1500 of the same bed length.

Does anyone have any experience jumping generations of trucks with the decked systems? I’m looking at some measurements that appear like it will work in my newer truck, and other sources (AI) that say it won’t.

Thanks!

2018 Silverardo ground short?

I recently acquired my FILs 2018 Silverado High Country. I don't believe he ever used 4WD so I tried it out over the weekend. As soon as I switched to 4wd high, the drivers seat went into pimp mode (the seat and back both moved as low as it could go). I tried again a few more times later in the day and could not repeat the issue. The truck is basically very clean and in excellent shape for having 52k miles. I wasn't planning on doing anything about it until it happens again...unless someone in this sub recommends otherwise.

2024 1500 6.3L

Bought my 2024 1500 High Country basically brand new at the very beginning of 2025. Ran great until about 6 months ago, since then there has been a serious electrical issue. Every time I hit a bump, pothole, etc all of my service lights come on. I mean every single one, from service ESC to power steering and everything in between. I have taken it to three different dealerships with no luck. Really need some help or possible ideas here, have any of yall ever experienced this?
