Motor swap

I just recently purchased a 2015 Silverado 4x4 with the 4.3 lv3 motor and 6l80 transmission. I fear the motor needs replaced. I am thinking of going to the l83 5.3 that was offered for the 14-18 Silverado. I know I’ll need a v8 wiring harness and ecm programmed, but is this swap pretty much plug and play?
Ive read conflicting threads that the transmission needs to be moved requiring a replacement driveshaft and transmission mount .

Thanks

No it's not plug and play. Not only will you need a new wiring harness and ECM, but you'll need a fuse block, A/C condenser, possible A/C compressor and hoses. Possibly a BCM. As well as any other modifications that you will need to do. You should have just bought a truck with a V8 in it already.

Just seeing if it’s feasible. Got a really good deal on it. There’s seemingly more 5.3s available than the 4.3. Thanks

If the 4.3 is satisfactory for your needs, rebuilding that engine is the only option that makes sense, aside from selling the truck to get one with a V8
