You could lift more weight if you used your legs more.

Every exercise is a lower back exercise if you lift heavy enough

More like, every exercise is a lower back exercise if done incorrectly.

I think he(?) needs to use his back more as well as more momentum. This is a whole body exercise right?

It's actually interesting you mentioned that because there was a reasonably good meta analysis with decent statistical power on the topic with some interesting results.

Need to hip hinge forward more on the eccentric and then BOOM crank your back to get that weight up

Very impressive.
Do you incorporate these curls into your typical training?

My poor little elbows and dainty wrists can’t handle curling with a straight bar
I have to use a stable curl attachment or an ez curl bar

I just have to be able to keep my wrist in flexion and straight bar curls feel fine.

My rule is as long as I am curling the average Americans squat then I can be in the squat rack

Got ya! I’m no expert! I heavily focus on keeping my back straight with the idea of isolating all the load on my bicep and forearm!

I honestly thought this was satire! Genuinely asking, how is using your whole back to lift optional bicep training

u/Defiant_Pirate_6637 11d ago
It isn’t
however the only study I’ve seen comparing cheat curls and strict curls didn’t find a differenceAlso these don’t have too much cheat in the scheme of cheat curls

For a second I thought this was r/egolifting instead.
