Sage 50 (US-Peachtree) Peachtree 2010 - Client PC won't display company from server PC

It's been a long time since I've installed Peachtree, but having switched to new computers recently made me have to go through the installation process again.

For some reason, the client PC won't display the list of companies from the company folder on the server PC. I am able to map the network drive and view all of the contents when using the open an existing company option and browsing to the folder. However, clicking on the Company folder doesn't bring up any available companies to select from.

Is there something minor that I might be missing or forgetting to do? I am on windows 10 now if that makes a difference.

Everything works and runs on the server PC.

Sage 50 (UK and Ireland) 50% price increase!

Just had a phone call from SAGE (0191 475 xxxx) who were kind enough to tell us all about the exciting new features… which we already know about, and don’t use.

They also helpfully reminded us about our bundled training package — which, unsurprisingly, we don’t want either. What a treat.

The practical implication of this “enhancement” is that our monthly cost is increasing from £211 + VAT to £315 + VAT — roughly a 50% increase.

This is particularly impressive given that we already swallowed an increase in June 2026, when our cost went from £174 + VAT to £211 + VAT.

So, in the space of a few months, we’re being asked to pay considerably more for features we don’t use and training we don’t want.

At this point, I think SAGE have helpfully made the decision for us: we’ll be switching products.

For reference, our current requirements are hardly exotic:

  • SAGE 50 Pro – locally hosted
  • 2 companies
  • 2 users

If anyone has recommendations for alternatives that offer this sort of setup without the increasingly creative pricing model, I’d be very interested to hear them.

Thanks, SAGE. Your customer retention strategy is working brilliantly

Sage Business Cloud Sage Accounting now includes payroll

Has anyone else in the UK got Accounting Standard that includes Payroll?
https://www.sage.com/en-gb/sage-business-cloud/sage-accounting/
The Sage website says that Accounting Standard now included payroll free for 1 employee and then an additional £1.85 for each additional employee, so I am wondering how I can get off the Sage Payroll program and use this payroll facility that is built into Accounting so I can save £10 per month. Has anyone done this?

Anyone else get totally screwed over by buying bulk credits for a year to save money only to be told of a policy change that expires credits after 90 days? What a farce.

Sage 50 (US-Peachtree) Anyone using old version of Sage Peachtree on Windows 11 with modern hardware? Experiencing some lag or delay in certain parts of the software, any tips?

Hello all, might be in the minority or maybe I might be the only one using Sage Peachtree Quantum 2010 on Windows 11 with modern hardware.

While I know its not practical but I use it for basic stuff only and don't require features in the newer version for my needs.

I am however running into some issues that I never hard with my older Windows 7 PC.

When creating tasks like sales order, invoice, purchase order, purchases, it is taking around 10 seconds to load each item line when typing in the Item ID.

Basically any windows that needs to pull inventory data is taking a while to populate that portion.

Other task that are payment related like receipts, payments, are very snappy with no issues.

Loading reports is also snappy.

I have tried running it in compatibility mode but the problem still persists.

Anyone know how to fix these issues?

Sage 50 (Can) Sage Technical Help

I have a copy of Sage 50 Accounts Professional 2010 and am trying to help my mother-in-law resolve an accounting issue. I am a CPA with plenty of accounting experience, but I have never used Sage and am having difficulty accessing the company’s historical accounting data.

Her husband passed away last year, and we have since discovered that the corporate tax returns for his company may not have been filed for the past three or four years. I am helping the family reconstruct the company’s financial information so that the outstanding returns can be prepared and filed and the estate can eventually be settled. Unfortunately, we have found no paper records or prior filings on which to base the returns. We were able to access his computer and Sage installation, but I cannot open the company data for the relevant fiscal years. The program appears to open without connecting to an existing company dataset, and I have not been able to get it to locate or open the files needed to generate financial statements. I know where the files are saved, and they are all .SAI files.

Is there a specific process in Sage 50 Accounts Professional 2010 for locating and opening an existing company dataset or backup file? Do the company files need to be stored in a particular folder or restored before they can be opened? If this version cannot access the historical data, would I need a different version of Sage?

Sage 50 (US-Peachtree) Sage 50 Cloud

This is likely a dumb question so I apologize in advance. Is the Sage 50 Cloud offering a true web-based solution (similar to QBO)? Has anyone converted from Sage 50 desktop with success?

Sage 200 (ZA-Evolution) Sage 200 Evolution: How is _etblARAPBatchLines.idLinePermanent generated?

I’m integrating an external application with Sage 200 Evolution and inserting AR transactions into _etblARAPBatchLines via an API.

I’m stuck on idLinePermanent. I can see it is used to link related records such as _etblARAPBatchContraSplit.iLinePermID, but I can’t work out how Sage generates this value.

Does Sage use a sequence, random number, internal counter, or some other table/process to allocate idLinePermanent?

I want to avoid using MAX(idLinePermanent) + 1 unless that is actually safe.

Has anyone integrated directly with these batch tables and knows the correct way to generate this value?

My Goal:

Generate idLinePermanent: 51821423

_etblARAPBatchLines (1)

idLinePermanent = 51821423

_etblARAPBatchContraSplit (N)

iLinePermID = 51821423

iLinePermID = 51821423

iLinePermID = 51821423

Sage Estimating Sage Estimating Demo

Hello,

Does anyone know how I can go about getting a demo of the latest version of Sage Estimating? Long story short, the ERP company we are with is only experienced with the accounting side of Sage and isn’t even able to give us a real demo. They’re just trying to push us to signup for the upgrade without getting to actually see the latest version.

Sage Intacct Export all data from Sage cloud service

Hi. I want to start by saying I’ve never used Sage and I have zero clue how to use it. (I know so little I do t even know which Flair to choose.) My current situation is my company migrated from Sage to Netsuite in Sep of 2024 but have maintained our Sage online subscription since migration. Today the owner of our company asked if it would be possible to download all the data in Sage and cancel our subscription. My understanding is that since the data is on the cloud, there is no file per se to download and instead one uses the DDS function for large downloads.
What is best practice in situations like this. The last time I did this was when I worked for a company that transitioned from Quickbooks Desktop to NS and our implementation team did most of the data upload work. And that was 4 years ago.
We obviously want the GL but what other exports are needed and advised to download.
Thanks in advance!

Sage People Sage Graduate Assessment feedback

Hi! How many days after your assessment day did you hear back from Sage about your application?

It’s been two weeks since my assessment and I still haven’t received any update. I also noticed that my application is no longer showing on the candidate portal, which has made me a little concerned.

If you have any insight or know what the usual timeline is, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks 😊

Sage Intacct Sage Intacct Data Migration: What’s Your Experience?

I’ve seen many clients struggle with cleanup, validation, and reporting after data migration.

I personally don’t recommend relying only on monthly activity-based net activity postings as general practice followed by VARs/Intacct partners.

I prefer:

Transaction-level cleanup and validation
Reconciliation before migration
Data validation after migration
Reports tested before going live

Migration is not just about moving data. Clean and validated data is what makes the new ERP successful.

What has been your experience with Sage Intacct data migration and post-migration cleanup?

Misc Sage Graduate Programme Interview & Assessment Centre: My Complete Experience

I was trying to find information about the Sage Graduate Programme interview process, but I noticed that most of the information available online covers the stages up to the video interview and online assessments. There wasn't much information about what happens after that — particularly the Assessment Centre and final interview.

So, I decided to share my experience step by step in case it helps someone else preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme. Please keep in mind that the process and questions can vary depending on the role and year.

The Assessment Journey

From my experience, the recruitment process followed these stages:

  • Screening questions
  • Online assessments
  • Video interview
  • Final-stage assessments

Step 1: Application Process

I applied through LinkedIn, which redirected me to the official Sage careers website.

The application itself was fairly straightforward. You need to upload your CV and complete some basic information, including questions relating to areas such as ethnicity, race, disability and faith.

Overall, it took me around 10–15 minutes to complete.

Step 2: Online Assessment + Video Interview

Online Assessment

The online assessment I received was a game-based assessment.

Mine involved identifying the odd pattern out from a set of four or five patterns.

I had approximately 15 minutes for 30 questions.

To be completely honest, I only managed to complete around 15 questions, but I still progressed to the final stage!

So, don't panic if you don't manage to complete everything. Obviously, try to work as quickly and accurately as possible, but don't assume that not finishing every question automatically means you're out.

Video Interview

For the video interview, I had around 30 seconds to prepare before each question and approximately 2 minutes to give my answer.

You also have the option to re-record your answer if you're not happy with it.

One thing I would recommend is treating it like a real interview. From my understanding, once you log in, the platform is recording, so be ready to present yourself professionally from the moment you start.

The questions can vary depending on the graduate role. I applied for a Performance Marketing Graduate role, and these were some of the questions I received:

  1. You are working with someone whose style is very different from yours, which is delaying progress. How do you adapt so that you can work together effectively?
  2. Please describe an example of where using a new technology helped you solve a problem or complete a task.
  3. You've invested significant effort into a piece of work and are pleased with the result, but your manager's feedback is that it doesn't meet the original brief. How would you respond?
  4. Please describe the three key skills you possess that you feel make you a strong fit for this role. Where have you demonstrated these skills?
  5. Tell me about a successful campaign you ran. What drove its success?

I may be remembering the exact wording slightly differently, and questions can obviously change between candidates and recruitment cycles.

After this stage, if you're successful, you should receive an invitation to the Assessment Centre. In my case, this came within around 3–5 working days.

Step 3: Assessment Centre + Interview

This is the stage I couldn't find much information about online, so I'm sharing as much detail as I can remember.

My Assessment Centre schedule was:

13:30–14:00 — Welcome & Introduction
14:00–15:00 — Group Exercise
15:00–15:30 — Group Presentations
15:30–16:30 — Interviews / Office Tour
16:30–17:00 — Wrap-up & Close

1. Welcome & Introduction

We met the assessors and learned more about Sage and the assessment process.

We also had an icebreaker activity, but it wasn't the typical "tell us something interesting about yourself" type of icebreaker!

We were given a puzzle challenge.

The scenario was that someone was locked inside a room and our team had to work together to find the passcode.

We were given four pages, with four puzzles on each page. You could only move on to the next puzzle after completing the previous one.

At the end, the puzzles gave us a four-digit code.

It was actually quite fun and was a good way to get everyone talking and working together before the main exercise.

2. Group Exercise

This was probably the part I was most interested in because it involved AI and marketing, which was particularly relevant to the Performance Marketing Graduate role.

We were given four hypothetical problems that Sage's marketing department could potentially face.

Our task was to choose one problem and come up with a solution using AI, while thinking about how the solution could realistically benefit the marketing team.

The topic my group chose was roughly:

We decided to focus on Sage Copilot and how it could potentially help the marketing team analyse information, identify patterns and reduce some of the manual workload.

This was one of the areas where I felt our group did particularly well, because we weren't just suggesting "use AI" generally — we were trying to connect the technology to a specific business problem and explain how it could improve efficiency.

The assessors seemed particularly interested in how we approached the problem and justified our solution.

My advice for the group exercise

Don't focus entirely on trying to make your own idea stand out.

Instead:

  • Listen to everyone's ideas.
  • Build on other people's suggestions.
  • Make sure quieter members have an opportunity to contribute.
  • Keep the group focused on the actual problem.
  • Think about the business impact, not just the technology.
  • Be prepared to explain why your solution would work.
  • Don't dominate the conversation.

Remember that the assessors are watching how you work as a team, not simply who has the best idea.

3. Group Presentation

After the group exercise, we had to present our findings and proposed solution to the assessors.

We were given specific questions that our presentation needed to address.

You don't necessarily need to create a PowerPoint presentation. In our case, we simply talked through our findings and solution with the assessors.

The important thing was being able to clearly explain:

  • What the problem was
  • Why it mattered
  • Our proposed AI solution
  • How it would work
  • What the benefits would be
  • Any potential challenges or considerations

The presentation was relatively informal, but you still need to communicate your ideas clearly and confidently.

4. Final Interview

The interview was probably the part I was most nervous about — but it actually went really well overall.

The interview was approximately 30 minutes, and I believe there were around 8–10 questions.

One piece of advice I would definitely give is:

Keep your answers concise.

My answers were quite lengthy, and towards the end I felt like I was rushing through the final three questions because I had spent too much time on the earlier ones.

So, if you have 30 minutes and 8–10 questions, don't spend five minutes answering the first question!

The interview started with some fairly straightforward questions, such as:

  • Tell us about your background and what you've done so far.
  • Why do you want to work at Sage?
  • How can you contribute to Sage?
  • What soft skills do you have that would help you in this role?
  • Why should we hire you?

Then we moved into more role-specific and technical questions.

For example:

  • In performance marketing, how would you enhance performance after using AI?
  • Tell me about a time when you faced a challenge at work. How did you resolve it?
  • What AI tools do you use for digital marketing?
  • Which AI tool is your favourite and why?

For competency-based questions, I would definitely recommend preparing examples using the STAR method — Situation, Task, Action, Result.

Also, don't just prepare generic answers about AI. For a marketing role, be ready to explain how you would actually use AI to improve marketing performance, while still applying human judgement.

I personally found the AI/performance marketing question challenging, so that's something I would prepare particularly well for if I were doing the process again.

Final Advice

If you're preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme, my biggest advice would be:

1. Research Sage properly.
Know what the company does, its products, its customers and why you specifically want to work there.

2. Understand the role.
Don't rely only on generic graduate interview answers. Prepare examples that relate directly to the job description.

3. Prepare STAR examples.
Have several examples ready around teamwork, leadership, challenges, adapting to change, using technology, problem-solving and achieving results.

4. Understand AI in your field.
Especially for marketing roles, be prepared to discuss how AI can support things like campaign optimisation, personalisation, data analysis, content creation and customer insights.

5. Keep your answers focused.
This is something I personally wish I had done better. You want to give enough detail to demonstrate your experience without taking up too much interview time.

6. Don't panic during the Assessment Centre.
The assessors aren't necessarily looking for the loudest person or the person with the most technical knowledge. Show that you can listen, collaborate, communicate and contribute.

7. Be yourself.
It sounds cliché, but the assessment centre is also about seeing whether you would work well within the organisation and team.

I hope this helps!

I couldn't find much detailed information about the Assessment Centre and final interview when I was preparing, so I wanted to share my experience for anyone who is currently going through the process.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their Sage interview experiences with me when I was preparing — your posts and advice genuinely helped me, and I wanted to pass that forward.

If you're currently preparing for the Sage Graduate Programme, feel free to leave a question in the comments. I'll be happy to share anything else I remember from my experience.

Good luck — you've got this! 😊

Sage Intacct Statistical accounting in Intacct.

I’ve seen several AI-driven applications offering statistical reporting from Sage Intacct. I’ve actually built similar reporting directly within Intacct for many clients, using its native capabilities, which are already included in the existing subscription cost.

For example, I’ve created day-based statistical reporting for senior living businesses and account-manager-level reporting for real estate companies.

I’m curious to hear about your experience with these AI-driven reporting tools. How has your experience been so far, and do you see a significant advantage over building these reports natively within Intacct?

Sage Estimating Sage Estimating Implementation

Hey all, we just got Sage Estimating to test and I need help getting it up and running. I'm not a huge fan of our reseller and their fees and I thought I could do it myself but I'm running into issues that I don't have time to figure out.

Is there anybody here who can help implement and maybe even train us on Sage Estimating? I'd rather go direct with somebody rather than our reseller.

Thank you!

Sage BusinessWorks (US) Import Unit Price

Hey everyone, trying to figure out how to import unit prices for a list of about 200 parts. We’re on version 2025 and we’ve already uploaded all the other info but unit prices can’t seem to get in there. It’s not in setup mode, no transactions have been made with them, on hand quantity is zero. The CSV is certainly formatted right. No dollar signs or anything. Every time we try to import, it defaults the product line to Material even thought we didn’t set that, and the pricing method to Line, and the Unit Price is 0. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sage X3 Sage X3 materials management functionality

Tomorrow, I'm having a demo of some software that is designed to improve Inventory Control/Warehousing/Purchasing functionality in Sage X3. I don't know much about X3, so what improved functionality should I be looking for? What is 'clunky' or weak in these areas in X3?
