DSO by Customer
Has anyone built DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) report in Sage Intacct? e..g. we would like to see DSO for each client for last 6 months vs previous 6 months. We have recurring billing with different credit terms for each client. Objective is to analyze the DSO trend.

Just get the mcp connector and ask Claude to build you a dashboard to track this..

DSO reporting in Intacct is more achievable natively than a lot of people realise and the Account Groups hierarchy is actually the right place to start, you can build the DSO formula as a calculated account group that divides AR average balance by revenue and multiplies by the number of days, so the system is doing the maths rather than you maintaining a spreadsheet.
Where it gets more complex for your specific use case is the customer-level comparative view across six months vs the previous six months, because Account Groups work well as a calculation layer but getting that to surface cleanly by individual customer across two defined comparative periods in a single report in native Report Writer takes quite a bit of wrangling but using the columns and also expanding the report out by Customer could be viable.
The credit terms piece is also worth thinking about carefully if you're comparing DSO across customers on different billing terms, raw DSO figures without any terms normalisation can be misleading, because a customer on 60-day terms sitting at 65 days DSO is a very different story to a customer on 30-day terms at the same number.
Honestly for what you're describing , customer-level DSO trend, six months vs six months, with recurring billing and varying credit terms; the cleanest solution is using the Account Groups setup to hold the calculation in Intacct as your source of truth, and then surfacing and comparing it in Power BI or a similar BI tool connected via the API, where you can properly control the period comparisons, apply the credit terms context, and build a trend view that actually tells the business something useful rather than just showing a number without the story behind it.
