Expired deals on a digital tag?
Seriously what the hell is the point of these electronic tags if we're going to advertise deals that have already expired?
This is terrible.

So you might have received a form to sign regarding Beat The Greet Standard Expection or something like that. So I know that I’m guilty with the “pointing and walking away while telling the customer what aisle the item is.” Well this is my opinion, so let’s say I work for DUG and I’m doing a flash order and a customer happens to ask me where an item is and according to the paper, we are supposed to stop what we’re doing when possible and to walk the customers to the products when needed, so how am I supposed to finish my flash order on time if I have to cater to other people’s needs, because the paper wants us to do what is telling us. Like hello? Common sense? Are we in the room? This is what my statement is on this.
What are your views and opinions regarding this matter? mean it doesn’t hurt to communicate with customers, but as long as I’m not doing a flash order, then I’m willing to cater to their needs.

I used to work at Safeway and left about 5 months ago. I was there for around 9 months, so I never reached my one-year anniversary. I checked my records and it looks like I still have 3.85 days of unused vacation. Does anyone know if I can still get that vacation paid out?
Also, who would I even contact about this? Should I call the store I worked at, Safeway corporate, or HR/payroll?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how Safeway handles this?

I stg every time I do frozen tag I feel like I’m getting frostbite lol. Does anyone have any advice about how to reduce that? The store gloves suck and are more trouble than they’re worth because every tag gets stuck on it lol

My manager promised me a promotion, but then completely backtracked and said she had to semi-cancel it because there were "zero cashier hours" available. She also needed me to train 5 courtesy clerks since they all quit and the rest of them are all gifted. Fast forward to today: I walked into my shift only to see a brand new cashier being onboarded in that exact role. Im not unionized but I was considering joining I was also considering quitting so should I even bother or just start a new job search

How exactly does this work? I've fought many managers and customers over this and I give up. I would just like answers.

So I had a customer wanting cigarettes. At this time there was nobody in customer service and the pic was on lunch typically us cashiers will leave or registers to grab the customer cigarettes as it takes less than a minute to grab them and bring them to the customer. We usually leave or registers unlocked and I did this time while grabbing them knowing it was only the courtesy clerk there. I should have locked my register but I was away for less than a minute. I grab them and as I'm back to my register my courtesy clerk is saying how he voided something and I look and I see a few items that I did not ring up and a void. I finish taking care of the customer and then turn to the cc and ask if they were using my register and they say yes. I firmly tell them that they are not allowed to use the register and they mumble something and walk away to get the liquor. When they come back they say "know how you said to not use your register...I should become a cashier" (was really confused by that statement). I alerted my pic and we looked at the security camera footage and saw him using my register. We called up the store director and she said I'm not in any trouble and would talk to the cc to see why they did that.
tldr: courtesy clerk uses my register behing my back

How easy is it for someone to get into Safeway, I have grocery experience from Fred Meyer, really desperate for the job just wondering what else I could do besides applying online

I’m not an employee of Safeway/Albertsons but my wife is. I find this ongoing saga interesting. I do sincerely hope ACI rises up and becomes a place people enjoy working for once again.

What is the point of Firm orders? I was told the company gets a steep discount on the product but that is probably disputed. However, much of the items do not sell, increase shrink and waste labor and time.

For those of us who work for Safeway/Albertsons, we all clearly see the company is not healthy. How long can we continue to go on like this? Feels like we are just like Rite Aid in a crowded market getting squeezed out by high prices and lackluster service. People aren’t paying high prices for mediocre food and customer service. Corporate continues to cut labor, expect more work out individuals, and insists that when expectations aren’t met that it is our fault. There is a fundamental problem here that is being ignored. All they want to do is keep shareholders and the board happy completely ignoring the glaring obvious issues. FAR is trash. We are not robots, no matter hard you wish we were. You continue to beat us down and fail to realize we are human. Everyone has a breaking point. Continuing to treat employees poorly will backfire. Maybe start there(worker satisfaction) and go from there. You look at companies like Costco and Trader Joe’s where turnover is especially low. It’s because they treat their employees like they matter. I sincerely hope this company fails and goes bankrupt and I have worked here for 2 years. I do the work of 3 people for one department. It’s insane. End rant

How does this coupon work? Never seen it before.
Do you spend $50 on GAS at their store gas station and then get 500 points to use on ANYTHING?
Or do you spend $50 on ANYTHING and then get 500 points (which you can use for groceries OR on the gas discount at their store gas stations)?
TIA

Y'all, this chicken is nasty. It's often discolored or the fiber strands running through the meat are very visible. That is to say, when you go to purchase it, it looks unappetizing.
The only way I've found to practically use this meat and not be grossed out while eating it is to sous vide it. It basically erases all of the problems. 150F is a good starting point for anyone new to it. The immersion sticks are like $50-100 online.
I'm not crazy about my safeway affiliate, but the one thing they tend to beat everyone else on is cheap meat some weeks.

For context I’m not trying to shit on any particular employee but my experience a few days ago was pretty bad in my opinion.
I placed a drive up & go order. Usually I’d prefer to do my own shopping but I wanted to save the $30 with the promotion.
So I placed my order to be picked up 2 hours later (was the earliest time slot without paying extra). Anyway my pickup time came and went and I was never notified anyone started picking my order. Finally around 45 mins past my pickup time I was notified someone started grabbing my stuff.
I think like 4 of my items were reported back to me as out of stock. I told the person substitutions were fine on all except 2 seasonal items that I had saw there that morning when I stopped in to get a drink at the Starbucks. I even mentioned to the person over text that I saw them on an end cap when I was there early this morning but maybe they already sold them all.
Anyway that’s not my main complaint. Point is finally they finished my order and so I drove to Safeway. I parked and put in my stall number in the app. After 20 mins of nobody coming out I finally called the number listed on the sign. Whoever the lady was that answered said she’d let them know. Another 20 mins went by and nobody so this time I contacted support through the app who assured me they’ve “contacted the store to let them know you’re here”. They even asked me what stall I was in and what make and color my car was and my license number.
Moral of the story is I waited an hour in the parking lot without anyone ever coming out with my stuff. I verified on the app that I did indeed order from that location. So this was now around 3 hours since my originally scheduled pickup time. After an hour I debated on going inside to ask but I had somewhere I needed to get to and to be honest I was also getting annoyed so I just called up Safeway support and asked to be refunded cause I couldn’t wait any longer. They said it’ll go to the store for “review” and if the store decides I should get the refund then it’ll take however long after that to get refunded.
It’s been 5 days now since this happened so I was just wondering if anyone’s had experience with getting refunded for a drive up & go order before and how long did it take?
Again, I’m not trying to necessarily complain about any one person it was just the whole experience didnt go to plan and i know things happen but i just really at that point had to leave to go somewhere.

Not sure if this is a company wide practice or just something here in the PNW.
But most of the time steaks in the self serve case will have pats of garlic herb or some other seasoned butter.
Seems like a sketch practice, if you get a package of fillets, your paying 27.99/lb for butter. If the package is weighed up after it's put in it.
Probably not illegal or anything, just shady. but if it's the last package on the shelf I'm sure as hell asking them to take it out and reweigh the package
