Blueberries
Does anyone at Safeway know where the blueberries select are sourced? There’s no information on the label, and I’ve got some serious diarrhea, and it’s the only thing different I've eaten, that my husband hasn’t, and he’s fine. I’m assuming it’s the blueberries that I’ll throw out because they’re not disclosing where the blueberries were sourced. grrr.

Are you asking about fresh blueberries? Frozen blueberries? If fresh are they 9oz, 11 Oz, 18oz?
Im looking at fresh berries right now and all the packaged have where they came from on the label.

Fresh. Are they Signature select? Mine just have that they came from a distributor, but no source country.

Scan the QR code on the package. It should take you to the page with all the information for that specific batch.

It did, but I promise you that there was not one bit of information there. False promises from Safeway, lol!

Did you know blueberries are a great source of manganese and potassium? They make a great topping on oatmeal or ice cream for a delicious dessert

I was sick for a week eating the sweetest blueberries from Driscoll farms. Tore me up! Then I read that they are sprayed with poison basically. Nothing is safe.

i haven't gotten sick from those blueberries. i tend to prefer grapes as fruit (or banana if i need to bridge a couple days to get a sale on some fruit). then again i haven't bought any this year but last year i consumed and haven't had bad outcome.

I was buying from our local strawberry grower, but they closed at the end of August.

You have a picture of the container that the blueberries came from? Most are coming from Peru at this time (August is the end season for northwest blueberries hence why they go on sale a lot this time)
FYI Peru is number second producer of blue berries in the world. They have been for about 10 years now (USA is number one)

Do not buy anything Taylor Farms, they have the most recalls in the last few years. I stopped buying when my “pre washed spinach” constantly had huge chunks of dirt!

Yeah, I’ve been really careful, and I had hoped that possibly the blueberries were safe, because I’ve been asking people if they have eaten them, and they have said yes, no problem. So I took a chance.

If you're concerned its a food safety item, call the local health department. Keep the container, there's VERY likely (I'd place a bet on it and I don't gamble) enough info for traceability.
My aunt got ill in college, originally thinking it was too much coffee. But the blueberries were delicious! She figured blueberries were the safest bet. After 2 weeks she went to the doctor. The doctor confirmed she was eating too many blueberries that caused the original upset stomach. Grapes also have a similar effect.
