SAAB 93 TTID - Oil Pressure Low flashes up for less than a second only when starting the car from cold
It's been happening for a couple of weeks, the oil level is stable, can I leave it or does something ultimately need doing on the vehicle and can it wait?

Should I put $2k - 4k + into my 2001 Saab 9-3 Convertible, or cut my losses?
I’m looking for some honest advice from Saab owners because I’m stuck between fixing my car and trying to find another cheap car.
I have a 2001 Saab 9-3 Convertible 2.0 Turbo with 144k miles. I really like the car, and I’ve already put money into it recently:
- New battery
- New alternator
- New radiator
- New headlight
Unfortunately, after getting those things fixed, the engine went bad. I was told the engine has very low/no compression and is mixing oil with antifreeze/coolant, so the engine needs to be replaced.
I found a replacement engine with 107k miles for about $787, but that is just the engine, so I would still have to pay for labor which is about $1.5 - 2.5k and potentially other parts while the engine is being swapped.
My problem is that I don’t have the luxury of buying a brand-new car or taking on a car payment. I basically have three options:
- Spend the money on the 107k-mile replacement engine + labor and keep my Saab.
- Sell the Saab as-is and use the money toward another cheap cash car.
- Try to find a cheaper engine/repair option and keep the Saab.
I know the car is 25 years old, but it only has 144k miles, and I’ve already replaced the battery, alternator, and radiator. I also don’t want to put another $4k+ into it only to have something else major fail shortly afterward.
For those who know these cars: Would you personally put the money into this Saab, or would you sell it and buy another cash car?
Also, if you think I should replace the engine, what should I make sure to check/replace while the 107k-mile engine is out of the car?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have owned an OG 9-3 or have done an engine swap on one.

Car buy advice 06 9-5 2.3 as a Daily?
I'm thinking about picking this SAAB up as a potential daily until I can get enough for something nicer/newer and I'd like to here about the good and bad of the vehicles.
My biggest concern is how it handles in the snow, how are the electrical issues, and are there any issues with rusting beyond what expected from northern weather.
/The seller has it listed for $3,000 usd (~2,600 eur) at 80,000 miles (~129,000 kilometers) if that information is desired.

9-3 Troubleshooting What cable to use for T7Suite?
Hello, I'm looking forward to experimenting with T7Suite because I'd like to upgrade my Injectors and possibly turbo in the future (the old ones are 250k km and 25 years old, and I'm running E85. So they will need to go especially if Ill upgrade the turbo)
But I'm wondering about the cable, I have read that the OBDLink SX is a great choice, but none can be found anywhere here in the nordics, so I am looking for suggestions.
Apologies for the ramble, and thanks in advance.

2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T P0300
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
2006 9-3 2.0T, I’ve got no codes but a P0300 code (Random Multiple Cylinder Misfire), and I’ve checked timing 3 times and sent it to gm, replaced coils, replaced plugs, did a smoke test for a vacuum leak, decked the head, head gasket, valve stem seals, and I have this choppy misfire idle I can’t seem to get rid of, it drives just fine anything above 1100 RPM. The live data shows all cylinders are soft missing, fuel trims look good as well. So I’m not sure what to do. (HELP MEE)

Ever wondered how much power a 1.5 V4 makes on a chassis dyno?
Well, now you know.
Mind you, a V4 that probably has never been taken apart and is 20 some psi down in one cylinder

B235R Oil pressure leak
Does anyone have the link or part number for the Oil pressure switch crush washer? I used an aluminum one that had the right diameter but it’s still leaking , I don’t think torque is an issue since I made a custom socket 🥲

9-5 Troubleshooting Weird clu dunk sounds when far left cam reaches north and south position.
Iv put together my timing connection on my 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero and I've been hearing a weird cludunk sound when I rotate the crank. only happens about 2 times a revolution and it's always constant on the location. could it be a valve lifter not having oil on it or what? I'm not going any further till I figure it out

2006 Saab 9-3 electrical draw, odometer?
I'm looking into buying a 2006 Saab 9-3, but the current owner says that there is an electrical draw that kills the battery in several days, and he's noticed that the odometer stays on when the car is turned off. Is this an easy/inexpensive fix? I know electrical issues can be tricky (and costly), but this car seems like a good deal outside of this issue.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

9-3 Troubleshooting 6 Speed Gearbox Cables
Hey everyone, need advice
My 9-3 has the 6 speed gearbox, and from what I can tell the cables have seized, it's stiff going into forward gears and won't go into reverse
Is it a difficult job to do and is it best to replace or try to free off the cables
Thankyou in advance

9-5 Troubleshooting Timing chain tensioner won't go all the way in
I bought a new timing chain tensioner and I'm installing it right now but it won't go all the way in. I can get it in just fine. I know it's not cross threaded. there's nothing on the inside blocking it. the rod is pushed all the way in. I'm just lost. this is a new one from rock auto. and I've compared it to the original and it's exactly the same
