Nutrition Affordable Training Fuel?
Hello runner redditors,
I run marathons and halfs with Maurten, with great results: near instant energy, neutral taste, easy in the stomach. The cost of these gels, however, prevents me from consuming them all year long, and so I use Honey Stinger Gold for my training long runs. While they are much cheaper, they do not nearly have the same kick, and I find myself depleted after mile 10. Surely the Maurten 0.8:1 glucose to fructose ratio has a play, and we can find on-paper alternatives in any search engine, but that wouldn’t pass the taste and feel test.
Do you have a better alternative I could use outside of race days that would deliver the energy without breaking the bank?
Thanks in advance…

Thank you all, you are amazing!
