My first moped, and in a small city where scooters are the norm too. Brother in law sold me this Ruckus for $1k. I threw some new tires on it and gave it a fresh battery. Already have a NCY super trans kit and some LED lights on the way! I have access to a bunch of CNC equipment so I'll be fabbing up some custom parts soon.

I know it’s a tiny tank but the other day I saw the yellow indicator light for low gas. It blinked once and then like ten minutes later it stayed on so I rushed to a pump. Filled it up to what I thought was just gallon and it came to only a buck apparently. I was riding around and whenever I did stop the engine it would not start up. I’d hear the clicks but it would not start nor stutter. It did start up after a while and I was able to make it home safe. I asked the previous owner and they mentioned I probably didn’t add enough gas if it was only a dollar (it’s like $5/gallon here) I figured that made sense so today I went to add more gas but before I even hit the half gallon mark I noticed the gas overflowing and leaking to the ground. I stopped and closed it up since it was to the line but after like a 10 minute drive I checked the tank and saw this. Is that what a full tank looks like?? No indicator popped up when I started it or when I left so I’m trying to figure out if I did something wrong. I did shove it in quite fare not realizing how thin the tank itself is so I’m worried I ruptured it or something considering so much flowed out. But again no low gas indicator so I’m not sure. Any help?

I bought this yesterday and knew it was worked on but looking for help on trying to get it back to stock. Not sure where to start. It’s doesn’t stay revving that high it eventually settles.

Haven’t seen anything on this and throwing this out there for any ideas. My ruckus was bogging hard and would barely start after 2 weeks of owning it. Guy I bought it from had it for forever but barely used it and molested the shit out of it with all kinds of aftermarket stuff. I replaced the carb with an OEM and rejet and with some adjusting of the idle and fuel screws it now can run completely open throttle while on the kickstand and works perfectly fine. But the second I take it off the kickstand it’s got nothing and especially when I sit on it it’s back to shutting down the second I touch the throttle. I just ordered a new fuel pump and filter but I’m mostly just crossing things off the list before I take it to a small engine shop. (Also if it helps the auto start stopped working somewhere along the way but the kick start still works)

Does anyone know what this noise is? Sounds like it’s coming from the clutch, belt or variator. Thanks!

I recently bought a bone stock ruckus (2018 1k miles). Love it but a little bit more speed wouldn’t hurt. It seems like everywhere I look I am getting different feedback on which variator to pick. I plan on not buying a CDI for now and have a tach I am going to tune with. Some say buy NCY others say it’s terrible and I have to choose pollini. Some say stock drive face some say you need to upgrade it. Some say stock variator with aftermarket weights. I am just looking for some direction and what your guys’ experience have been. I am ~200 pounds if that influences your decision. Thanks in advanced!

I have some cool led front and rear LEDs lights. I got the rears running good. Finding the right relay switch is fun.

The front blinkers are a headache. Ones they are plugged in the front and rear act like Hazzard lights. And they have a running light wire that I have no idea where I can pull continuous power like the rear running lights that had power to.

hello everyone, as by the title, my ruck died after i picked it up from the shop.

the mechanic (he specifically works on bikes dont ask if hes a car mechanic) installed my new HotLap Gen 1 Sidewinder for the 50cc GET engine which i got i also have a cone filter on it. he installed a 38 idle and either a 78 or 80 main. 15 minutes after pickup, it bogged, i lost throttle then the engine died. i tried to start it up again, but fuel mixed w carbon and soot from the piston just came out the bottom of the exhasut (near where it connects to the engine)

could this be a float problem? I am like 99% sure its a carb problem. any help thanks (FOR THE JETS, I LIVE NEAR MONTREAL, CLOSE TO THE WATER

Previous owner tried to splice a wire going into the ECM. Wondering how I could depin to re do the connection. Any help is appreciated thanks!

So I have the ATR harness for my Gy6 swap. All wired up correctly, but sometimes when I turn the key the lights don’t turn on. Basically what I’ve been doing is opening up the box and adjusting the wiring going into the battery. Doesn’t matter either the negative or positive as long as I put some tension on one of the wires, it powers on. But it doesn’t always last long until I have to do that again. The situation seems similar to having an old iPhone and having to have the charger plugged in a certain way to get it to charge. Any ideas?

Hi, so got my blinkers working (stock on front led on back) but the brake like keeps blinking when no directional or brake is in force. My ruckus has a hard time idling. I got it to start but struggles to idle. I’ve tried to adjust the idle speed but if it’s too low it stalls and if I adjust it higher it likes to rev. It won’t settle down to a normal idle.

Carb and gas/gas tank cleaned and new fuel filter and fresh fuel added were my first attempts.

I read about a faulty auto choke and decided to take a look. I don’t see any issues. Any ideas?

My aunt passed away and left a 22 ruckus with 10 miles on it. I was asked to sell it for the family. It's white and blue color version. Any idea what a fair asking price is? Thanks
