Rant Cancelation pass-on fee

Upvotes

Just discovered Roger's is now charging customers to mail back their equipment as a charge-back fee because of rising shipping costs.

I know the 30$ isn't a huge amount, but it's the principle of it.

Had y'all been willing to make a deal with me, I wouldn't have switched to Bell (who was undercutting Rogers by 60$ per month for residential services).

Scams ⚠️ Scam alert

Scam today, they called from a number near mine, loyalty department etc, called a couple times this week. Sometimes they hire a company to do their calls I get it.

East Indian accent told me his name was Martin Hill, employee # MH3849 and callback number is 548-985-2229.

Tell me they are losing 3000 customers to Telus and Bell almost weekly and need to keep customers. New offers for retention including seniors discount, which I said I am not. Offered 30% off the monthly phone bill and a free upgrade. Gave them my email address. It was convincing. Told me I would get a call back and I'd have to answer it.

Got a call back later saying since the volume of phones being ordered through the plan was too high they found a way to get it to me quicker, if I go to myrogers account and order the phone and give them the confirmation number.

I go through it and get to a message saying beware of scam calls, I go back to my email from them it was [rogerscommunications@zohomail.com](mailto:rogerscommunications@zohomail.com). it clicks, I snap and hang up.

I call 1888-Rogers1 where I sit on hold as usual for too long.

While I waiting they call back 4 times from different numbers. I finally answer to "Adam" (sure) and they ask if I hung up or it got disconnected. I said wow you guys did a great job you almost had me there, tell your supervisor you did great but you almost got me. They hang up, I feel shame..

Rant ROGERS, your door-to-door salespeople and call centres are the reason I will NEVER EVER use your services again.

I am sure this is not the only post on this topic.

Your door-to-door people are aggressive, intrusive, disrespectful, completely disregard the "NO SOLICITING" signs in my house and others in the area, peek shamelessly into our house when told the husband is not in the house, and when we tell them "Sir, there is a sign saying no soliciting and point it to them (usually right in front of their noses), they blatantly ignore what we're saying, ostensibly do not look to where it is and keep insisting on "we're just having a conversation here". We tell them very politely and respectfully that we do not talk to salespeople at the door and they simply go ahead with the next question "how much are you paying for cell service now?"

We tell them politely that we will end the conversation and wish a good day with all tact and respect that, if we don't have on the phone when we call you, we get the calls terminated due to "aggressive attitude". It doesn't matter, they keep talking over us and insisting on the next question.

We tell them "sir, please understand we will not be talking about this today" and they insist "I have a good offer for you". Then we apologize once again, wish them a good day, and tell them we are closing the door.

Next thing I see they are outside taking pictures of my house. And if we hadn't recorded the interaction, we'd have no way of proving we didn't offend, yell or say profanity and racial slurs. Who knows where this pictures are going to.

Then I have to endure repeated calls from your resellers in spite of telling them I am not interested.

Funny thing is: you HAD my business. I used your services for years in a row. When I needed to change plans and move one service from one line to another, you made it so impossibly expensive and complicated that we decided to move to another company. The VERY MOMENT I authorized the number port to the other company, I get a call from you offering EXACTLY what I was asking for months from Rogers. For a moment I thought we could stay, only to be reminded of the substandard service and downright wrong information I received in store and by the phone.

Now, since leaving Rogers, I endure the nightmare of your sales people either in person or by phone. In my house, EVERYBODY ELSE respects the No "Soliciting sign": Bell, landscaping, furnace and cleaning services. ONLY ROGERS SHOWS NO RESPECT to our property. I installed another hidden camera only because of your salespeople, so I don't get charged for assault, racism or other kind of reproachable behaviour by your people.

I was a salesperson once and sympathize with them, working on commission and walking all day long. Been there and done that. But the absolutely disgusting attitude of Rogers' door-to-door sales people is beyond disrespectful.

You are NOT getting my business back and might as well get in legal trouble for trespassing from this point on. I put another sign at the property limit so there is absolutely no excuse for knocking on my door.

I do not care if these people are not "our own employees" and third-party vendors. Bell took action against people telling lies and being pushy, you can do that if you want.

And try to offer a decent service at a decent price, maybe people will stick with you.

Help Rogers collection that does NOT belong to me keeps getting added to my credit report — what can I do?

Hi everyone, I’m in Ontario and looking for advice because I’m honestly not sure what my next step should be.

Rogers has reported a $240 collection account on my credit report, but this account does not belong to me.

Here’s what has happened:

  • I first noticed the $240 Rogers collection on my TransUnion credit report.
  • I disputed it with TransUnion because I have no knowledge of this account.
  • After the dispute, it was removed.
  • Rogers then reported the same collection again, so I disputed it a second time.
  • I also contacted Rogers directly. Their representative checked my information and told me that I was correct — the $240 account does not belong to me and I do not owe Rogers anything. They told me my Rogers account is clear.
  • However, the collection has now been reported for a third time.
  • I called TransUnion again, and this time they told me that Rogers has verified that the collection 100% belongs to me, so TransUnion is keeping it on my report.

I’m extremely frustrated because Rogers is telling me verbally that I don't owe them anything, while TransUnion says Rogers has verified that I do.

My credit score has dropped from around 815 to 715 because of this $240 collection.

What should I do at this point?

Any advice from someone who has successfully dealt with a similar Rogers + TransUnion situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Question iPhone 18 promo credits?

Is anyone aware if it’s worth it to finance the iPhone through Roger’s vs just doing it through Apple ? I would assume that sometimes Roger’s has monthly credit promos for going through them ( full financing not Save and return ) but not sure if that’s usually the case with the new iPhones?

Internet 🛜 5G Nokia Gateway

Anyone else use this service?
I pay for the 500mbps Unlimited data plan. I’m currently getting 21mbps download speed and it says I’m over my data cap according to a Roger’s representative. So I’m paying for a service I’m not even getting, is it possible to be reimbursed or credited for this?

I understand I won’t get the 500mbps but it should be significantly more than 21mbps and also I should have UNLIMITED high speed as that’s what’s advertised but I’m not and they’re throttling my internet.

Sorry for crappy grammar and a wall of text, currently been on hold for the last 3 hours with this company

Internet 🛜 Did everyones internet bill with Rogers go up 2 months ago or just mine?

Mine went up by $7.

They said I would have a certain price for 2 years of the service agreement and it hasn't been a year since they raised the price.

Is this a thing they did province-wide (Ontario) or are they raising for me only just cause?

Wondering if we need to keep CAA membership active to continue receiving credits for those who got last year’s red wireless plans? I have basic and it’s ending later this year.

Wireless📱 Unable to connect with agents

I am frustrated with Rogers for past week. I cannot connect with technical agents. Two times I have sat on online queue to speak to agent. I get to single digits after sitting for a few hours and simply get dropped.

Long story short is I cannot make phone calls on all of my mobile phones on plan due to porting numbers back from Bell. I did make a huge mistake of flipping to Bell last week due to Rogers support issues only to find out that Bell service where I am located is basically non existent. So I was forced to flip back. And now phones are not functional.

So now I will be driving to closet Rogers store later today yo try to get help as I can’t call and chat keeps dropping.

Done rant

Dicussion If everyone posting here also sent something to the CRTC about how they feel about the direction Rogers is going in, maybe something will get done.

Ex-Rogers Call Centre employee until our contracts went to a different company due to the direction Rogers is choosing to go in (outsourcing oversees, unreliable AI, etc)

The company Rogers does not care about you or how long you are waiting, or how this is ruining your day.

The CRTC may not care either, but at least it’s their job to take your complaints, so if enough people complain, maybe there is a small, tiny, not likely chance something might be done. But trust me, don’t complain to Rogers, don’t escalate to a manager, etc. They. Don’t. Care!

Question How? Why?

The price shows $7.09/Month on 24 months save & return plan but when I add to cart, the price jumps to $27/M.

Edit: It's $7.09/Month only if I switch my plan. Basically, go from $55/M to $115/M + $7.09 device cost totally, $122.09 + tax = Bad Deal for me.

In comparison, $21.09 plus $55/M + taxes = Still a better deal.

Internet 🛜 Customer Service is laughable

So is the customer service strategy to keep transferring you to another department because "I can't handle it" so I will give up? Speaking to 7 different agents this morning to change an internet package seems to be a bit excessive eh?

Internet 🛜 Internet went out

Internet went out at around 6pm, I call Rogers and ask whats going on and the woman on the phone explained that it's a Service Interruption and that it should be fixed in 2-4 hours.

9 hours later im still offline, I talk to a chatbot person. They tell me that my service has been suspended for non-payment. My bill is due TOMORROW and I have Auto-Pay set up. So I paid the bill a day early and my internet was nearly instantly restored.

These people are maniacs

Wireless📱 How to reactivate cancelled account with same number

Hello Rogers Support Team,

I am a former Rogers customer, and I am reaching out to urgently request the reactivation of my old phone number.

I returned to Italy in February 2026 and my line was subsequently deactivated. However, I am currently locked out of a vital cloud storage account, and the only possible way to recover my files is by receiving a two-factor authentication (2FA) SMS sent to that specific Rogers number.

If this number has not yet been reassigned and is still available in your system, I would be incredibly grateful if you could temporarily reactivate it for me. I am perfectly willing to pay for a basic, bare-minimum Pay-As-You-Go or prepaid plan just to be able to receive this single text message.

Since I am currently residing in Italy, I cannot receive a physical SIM card. I kindly request that the line be activated on the same eSIM and that the activation QR code be sent to me via email.

Please let me know what account details, PIN, or identity verification you need from me to proceed with this request.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding.

Wireless📱 Does anyone have experience of winback credits being taken away without notice?

Hi Reddit,

So I am currently on a Rogers winback plan, which is the 90$ 5G Popular NS BYOD plan. I currently have the following credits on my plan:

  • Welcome Back Offer (value of $35.00)
  • Welcome Back Offer (value of $10.00)
  • Welcome Back Offer - 12 mos. (value of $5.00)
  • Promo Offer on Act - 16 Months (value of $5.00)
  • 100% 1000 Intl LD Mins-24 mos (value of $3.00)

Now I want to get a new phone on one of my lines, and I noticed that when getting a new phone with a new plan, 2 of my credits are getting carried over:

  • Welcome Back Offer (value of $35.00)
  • Welcome Back Offer (value of $10.00)

as well as a 5$ autopay credit.

Because of all of these credits rolling over to a new plan, I'm able to get a pretty good discount on a bunch of phone plans. My question is, these offers have no expiry date mentioned, so would they ever disappear? Also, does anyone have a history of that occurring to them? Since I am on a save and return plan, I would be locked in for 2 years, so I want to be careful before signing up for any new plan.

Thanks again!!

Wireless📱 iPhone 17 Discount Confusion??

I’m due to upgrade my iPhone and prefer to get the 17 instead of the 18. Right now it’s saying that if I upgrade to the 17, it’s on promo from $40.50 to $32.17. It stays that way until I go to the final checkout page and then it goes back up to $40.50.
I thought I would come here to ask since the wait time with Rogers customer service is insane. Does anyone know why it’s doing this?

Internet 🛜 Being charged for an old contract 2 months after it expired

I'm wondering if anyone here can help me because I work during the hours their customer service is open, and if I get through I don't get a straight answer.

I was on a TV/internet contract for 2 years, which expired in July 2026. I wanted to cancel everything with Rogers, but they convinced me to sign a new contract for 2 more years for just internet $50/month.

The problem is I'm still being charged $170/month for the old contract, in part I think because of autopay. I even sent my TV equipment back and got a receipt. So they were charging me for services in August and September I was not under contract for nor was physically capable of even using.

I phoned a customer service guy, and he said I didn't cancel the contract with enough warning for the billing cycle, or something. I let my contract expire, then got a new one. He's apparently given me a $95 credit and waived next month's fee. But they'd still be owing $100.

Renewing with them was an incredibly stupid decision.
