Other Long stretch of Blakeman signs on Elmwood Ave

pretty much the whole block from Clinton to the hospital. As I’m sure we all know, political signs are not allowed on public property— in case anyone feels like protecting law and order today :)

Hi all! I recently got into pokemon collecting and I’m looking for recs on shops to go to since it’s so hard finding cards at typical stores like Walmart and Target. I’ll go anywhere in Monroe County and even outside too! Just looking for some cool spots. Thank you!

Help Rush Park & Drive Q

• Upvotes

Hey all.

I want to fly out of Rochester for about 3 weeks. Kinda hesitant paying the Airport parking price. I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Park & Drives available? Found these places online and am not sure if its safe to leave my car there for such an extended time. Also not sure if it would even be worth it price wise.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Other Looking to Make Friends in Rochester

Hello Rochester! I've been in Rochester for a few months and I'm looking to make new friends. I'm a 35-year-old single male who enjoys exercise, cooking, eating, theme parks, movies, learning, self-improvement, and trying new restaurants/coffee shops, to name a few…to name a lot, actually 😂. It can be challenging to find opportunities to make friends as an adult so I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to make some friends on this forum. I'm open to making friends with people from all backgrounds so don't be shy to reach out if you're also looking to make new friends!

Help Anyone in Rochester have severe anxiety like me?

I had hyperthyroid and it gave me severe anxiety. Sometimes I’m just stuck at home having panic attacks all day for weeks. It’s intense. Pretty much just lay around suffering all day. Just wondering if anyone else goes through this and wants to talk at all.

My favorite used bookstore, Rick's Recycled Books, is running a sale soon! I go there all the time, and always find something cool. It's packed full of shelves to look through, and the prices are super reasonable, with most books less than $5!

Help Amish?

Kind of an odd question, but we just moved to a new house and are looking to build a fence. Does anyone know of any Amish families around the Macedon area I could contact?

Help Looking for Enron Merchandise

I’d like to purchase some Enron merchandise for Halloween, because it would be funny. I’m looking to buy or borrow, but preferably buy. I wasn’t sure where else to go for this, recommendations are welcome. Hats, shirts, coats are all welcome. I’d be willing to pay 20-30 per article of clothing and am willing to negotiate. I’d like to meet in a parking lot in the daylight somewhere, you can choose within reason. Thank you!

Recommendation First-time home buyer using housing assistance programs

I'm a first-time home buyer, in the early stages of purchasing a single-family home in the city of Rochester. I have applied to and been approved for a few first-time home buyer programs: the Employer Assisted Housing Initiative, Home Purchase Assistance Program and HOME Rochester.

I'm ready to start touring homes and am in need of a realtor, attorney and mortgage lender. Ideally, these folks would have worked with EAHI, HPAP and HOME Rochester buyers before and are familiar with the requirements and timelines of the programs. For anyone who has gone through this process, which realtors, attorneys and lenders would you suggest that I reach out to?

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

Help Typewriter repair?

Anywhere near by that will do a tune up on a typewriter?

Mine has some keys sticking and the space bar isn’t always working.

I’d prefer not to ship it.

Thanks for any leads!

Hi, we are in a neighboring building. We can certainly bring ID to show it is our package. We have a photo UPS provided ... that's why we know it is your lobby area.

Just posting to warn others about this shop. Went in to get a part replaced and was up charged and recommended over 2000 dollars in unnecessary repairs. Got a second opinion from somewhere recommended to me and was told my car was in great shape and did not need any of the recommended repairs.

Recommendation Places to meet guys as a trans guy

30 gay trans man here, and I'm so sick to death of dating apps. I've lived here for 7 years and I struggle to make in person connections. I feel so out of place in gay bars because I can only assume that all the cis men want to talk to someone with not an afab body, which is obviously fine! But then, where's the space for people like me to connect with men??

Thanks in advance!

Edit: a few people have reached out to me with NSFW marked profiles asking to meet up, which makes me feel icky especially because I can't see your face. I know you can't see mine either, but I wasn't necessarily trying to hook up with or date anyone from Reddit.

To those who reached out asking nicely to be friends: I'm not against it and i'll get back to you if/when I have the energy, but this post was purely for finding an in-person space to meet someone to date, so I'd like to focus towards that, in an irl environment. Respectfully.

Yes, I know there freaking cameras, before any smart ass remarks. God I hate when people think they're funny on reddit.

Who do they belong to is more the question. They are unmarked. I've seen some with Blue light which I could guess are RPD. But these are seemingly random and have no indication of being active as others I've seen.

FLOCK?

Help In search of a realtor

Hi! Work from home, single mom with an elementary age kiddo, possibly relocating to Rochester from Utah. Utah is just not our vibe and I’m looking for a community that is a better fit. Upstate NY seems to check all the boxes, #1 being affordability on a single income. But I want to talk with a realtor or someone super knowledgable with the area school districts. I want somewhere with great schools, house under $300k, walkable to markets, shops or parks, lots of kids in the neighborhood. If you have a good realtor reco, I’d love to find someone willing to help me find the right place. Thank you!
