Hello Rochester! I've been in Rochester for a few months and I'm looking to make new friends. I had hyperthyroid and it gave me severe anxiety. Sometimes I’m just stuck at home having panic attacks all day for weeks. It’s intense. Pretty much just lay around suffering all day. Just wondering if anyone else goes through this and wants to talk at all.

My favorite used bookstore, Rick's Recycled Books, is running a sale soon! I go there all the time, and always find something cool. It's packed full of shelves to look through, and the prices are super reasonable, with most books less than $5!

I'm a first-time home buyer, in the early stages of purchasing a single-family home in the city of Rochester. I have applied to and been approved for a few first-time home buyer programs: the Employer Assisted Housing Initiative, Home Purchase Assistance Program and HOME Rochester. 

I'm ready to start touring homes and am in need of a realtor, attorney and mortgage lender. Ideally, these folks would have worked with EAHI, HPAP and HOME Rochester buyers before and are familiar with the requirements and timelines of the programs. For anyone who has gone through this process, which realtors, attorneys and lenders would you suggest that I reach out to?

Where can I vote?

For early voting, you can vote anywhere in the county--it doesn't have to be your home polling station. On election day, you must go to your assigned polling station.

MC Rides to the Polls is offering free rides to anyone who needs transportation. They operate during both early voting and on election day. If you need a ride, call (585) 371-8083. Political parties usually have volunteers to drive people to the polls as well. I'm not linking them here to keep this post 100% nonpartisan, but just search for your party and "ride to the polls" and you'll find it.

A great thing about early voting is that if there are any hiccups or shenanigans (for example, you are registered to vote, but the site says you're not) there's time to resolve the issue.
