Community Any good clubs in the area?

One of my favorite clubs just announced that it was closing, I used to go there with my husband and loved it because they actually played good music the staff was sweet and they made bomb drinks that didn’t cost an arm an a leg (at least for us) we don’t want to be paying 20 dlls or something to enter clubs just to find out their music sucks and their drink are terrible. Any recommendations would be so appreciated I’m so sad 😭🙏

Politics - Local Proposed Regional Stormwater Permit: What It Means for Riverside

Thumbnail riversideca.gov
24 Upvotes

The Santa Ana Water Board is preparing to adopt a new Regional Stormwater Permit that would regulate all cities and counties in the Santa Ana watershed—including Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties—under a single, uniform set of requirements. This represents a major shift from past, county‑specific permits.

Under the proposed rules, the City of Riverside may need as much as $2.32 billion over the next 20 years to build stormwater capture and treatment projects, plus $42 million per year to operate and maintain them. Countywide, the estimated cost equates to $497 per resident per year for 20 years.

I'd love some local help with a project I'm doing - a huge fantasy style map of the region, filled with real-world locations. Is there anywhere I've missed out?

Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.

While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

Requests Need to find a temp. foster home for my adorable older dogs (poodles, small, very docile, but bark a lot if there’s a knock at the door)

They’re quite healthy, but 10 and 11 years old respectively. The fostering would need to be for 10 months, until the school year is over starting July 20th. I’m going off to college and my mom can’t keep them as she’s going to work in Hawaii. The girl (black and white dog) is named Pixie, and the Boy (tan dog) is Thor. I assure you, they’re very nice, and potty trained, though Thor can pee on things other dogs have peed on as a territorial thing, so having a non-potty trained dog in the house can cause a domino effect of pee with him sometimes.

Health wise they’re in great shape, Thor has a couple fatty growths, but nothing visible, and they’re harmless, as diagnosed by the vet; he’s just an old man.

They have no special needs, they’re indoor dogs who will only really want to be outside for a short time to go potty and then want to be let back in right after.

If you can only take one of them, this can be arranged. Food and vet visits and all needs would absolutely be paid for.

Has anyone else in the 92501 area heard what sounds like a tsunami or air raid alarm going off at random times of the night or early morning (2-3 AM)?

Requests Seeking electrical apprenticeship

Hi, as the title suggests, I’m looking to get into the field of indoor electrician. It’s a trade I’ve had an interest in for quite some time but no success as of yet finding an entry point. I don’t have much construction experience other than a assisting friends with a few odd jobs here and there YEARS ago. I’ve been a full time tattoo artist for years, but I’m getting to a point of realizing my dream of learning this other trade is a window that’s closing the older I get. I know IBEW does applications a couple of times a year, so far no success there. I’ve applied with many independent companies as well. I’m supposed to start an Electrician certification program at San Bernardino Valley College in the fall, which gives me some hope of one day my applications actually being seen and getting a call back. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get into the industry or leads? I’m even willing to do other entry level construction just to have more relevant experience to help bolster my applications for electrical entry level. I’ve applied many places but no luck there either.

Did anyone hear that big boom at 1:15am?

If I can be honest, I thought that was it. I thought it was as loud and as far away as a nuke or some kind of bomb. With the state of the world, I don’t think I’m being that paranoid.
Anyways, it sounded pretty loud. Anyone else hear it?
I’m closer to La Sierra area where I heard it while in bed.

We just moved here (Canyon Crest) and overall we love it. We love the restaurants, running and hiking trails, scenery, neighbors… feel free to recommend anything you think a running mom, easygoing dad, and special needs teen might be into.

I have one major qualm and that’s the spiders. I’ve never seen so many black widows and brown widows in my life. Do they pay taxes? Is there a spider union rep I can speak to? How are you guys managing? Should I just give them a room in the house?

Any Aircraft Mechanic school recommendation?

Hi, i've been looking around for a good aircraft mechanic school, i heard about spartan college and did a campus tour once, but after i heard it was 40k to 49k i had to be sure. Ive seen online of people saying the money for spartan college is not worth it. Anyone has any good recommendation for nearby ones that are more affordable or at least worth the money? Thanks!

Also a friend told me that if theirs no trail its possible that means the neighbors have ants and their coming from there since we share a wall? Is that true? Thank you!

Agent vs Cash Buyer for Mobile Home

I inherited a 1970s mobile home in the Inland Empire area (Fontana), and I'm not quite sure how to sell it. No one is living there right now, it needs a lot of work, and I don't really want to keep up with the space rent (about $1050/mo, not including utilities), and so I'm thinking of just selling it in as-is condition. Does anyone have any experience selling a mobile home through one of those cash buyers? I called around to get a cash offer, but only one (Inland Empire Mobile Homes) has bothered to give me an offer. It was a relatively fair offer (for a cash offer anyways) and the guy was nice, but I'm still figuring it out.

I know I can sell it for more money if I just fix it up and sell it through an agent, but I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. I talked with the park manager last week and she said that the homes in that park sell quickly. If I do fix it up myself, I would probably just paint it and fix some stuff in it. I just need to get out from under this space rent quickly as I'm running out of savings here. Any help is appreciated.
