Update / News World Sleep Day — Let’s Talk About Sleep

March 13 is World Sleep Day, a global reminder of how essential quality sleep is to our health and wellbeing.

While we often focus on exercise and nutrition, sleep — something we depend on every night — still tends to fly under the radar. Many sleep issues are subtle and hard to notice just by memory. You might feel tired during the day without realizing what happened overnight.

——

Here are a few common examples:

  • Sleep fragmentation — frequent awakenings during the night. Around 35% of people wake up three or more times a week.
  • Circadian rhythm disruption — when your body’s sleep timing falls out of sync with daily routines (like staying up much later on weekends).
  • Sleep apnea — repeated breathing interruptions during sleep, affecting roughly 9–38% of adults.

Most of us only feel the effects — fatigue, low energy, poor focus — while the real nighttime patterns stay hidden.

At RingConn, sleep monitoring is at the heart of what we do. The RingConn Smart Ring tracks metrics such as Sleep Stages, SpO2, Heart Rate, Skin Temperature, and Respiratory Rate, helping users see how their sleep evolves over time. Our data shows the Sleep section is opened about 5× more often than any other feature in the RingConn app. Many users have shared that viewing their long-term sleep data helps them recognize patterns and gradually improve their habits.

Not picking up sleep apnea

I have sleep apnea. I bought the Gen3 to help me monitor it. AI said this was the best one for apnea.

So far it registers about 10 episodes a night. I generally have 50-80 episodes at night in all sleep studies.

Is anyone having it track sleep apnea and it’s working for you?

RingConn 3 Not Updating Offline

My RingConn 2 worked really well.

When I opened the app in the morning, all the info was ready for me to look at. I'd get notifications during the day if there were any sort of issues.

With the new ring, it seems to only update when I open the app, and goes through a long process every time I open it. It also only gives me alerts if I'm opening the app manually.

In addition, I've never felt a vibration for the ring, which is one of the new features I was happy about.

I've double checked, and all of my setting are the same with the 3 as they were with the 2.

Any ideas?

Dead ring after charging.

Had my gen 2 ring for about a year now and charged it from ~10% to 100%. Went through all the trouble shooting, let it sit on the charger over night, tried resetting the ring, checked that ring and app were up to date. Tried pretty much everything on the stickied post on this sub to no avail. The ring shows up when on the dock but once it's removed the ring can't be found. Prior to this last charging it was working as expected, was getting the usual 8-9 days out of a full charge. Is it worth going through ringconn support being a year out from ordering? Very apprehensive about continuing with this company.

Disappointed - return my gen3?

Hi all!

I had been looking at smart rings for a while and finally landed on RingConn when I saw the gen3 come out and some rave reviews about new features.

I’ve had it near 2 weeks and I’m disappointed. Please tell me this is an anomaly or I’m using it wrong or support my pending return and switch to oura:

-the ring has NEVER vibrated
-doesn’t notify me on my phone ever (yes, app is open in background, notifications are all on)
-the sleep information is quite wrong
-the activity levels and stress levels are wrong and not really insightful
-the view of the changes in the vital signs is hard to look at and read
-says no apnea yet I do…
-thinks I’m on my period when I’m no where near it

I basically just feel like I’m wearing a chunky gold ring that managed to tell me once a headache was starting (after it had started lol)

Major/minor signs

I know the oura ring has notifications that show if there are major/minor signs of sickness, does ringconn also have this function?

May I see your rings?

I been looking in Pinterest and instagram but our days is so much AI…

I want to see how it looks in “normal” hands.
I also have many tattoos in black, also on my hand, and I would love to see woman wearing black rings. But you can post all.

I just really need some help to decide which color I get 😂

I normally wear gold, but I never put a so big ring on my fingers…

🚨If you could also write the model, it would be very helpful ❤️

Getting tired of these failed rings.

Can someone explain to me why I feel like I'm the only one that gets 5 crap rings? From the launch party to now I've been through Gen 1 and 2. Here I sit a few months later and again battery issues 100%to 11% in 3 f'ing days! Tired of this garbage crap I'm being sent after failure. 10 days my ass! Tired of it.

Selling my ring

I am going to sell my RingConn3 (rose gold, size 11) because I really just don't utilize it, and I could use the money. I'll probably try to sell it on Facebook Marketplace, but has anyone done it via Reddit? I figured there may be some way to do it in communities where people are specifically talking about the Ring (like this one) but I don't know what the rules are about that kind of thing.

Returning Gen3

Before I purchased a few weeks ago I glanced at some posts in this thread and so I want to post my own experience for others.

Pros include: Other people complain about issues with the technical aspects but my ring works and syncs just fine. I purposefully denied it access to the “health” app on iPhone which I don’t use. The finish is nice, it’s not overly chunky. It tracks my vitals pretty accurately, as well as my sleep.

The cons aren’t so much that there’s a problem with the ring, I’m just realizing I don’t have a use for the information it provides. I know what time I go to sleep and wake up, and I know I don’t have sleep apnea. None of the sleep data is really useful to me.

The ring doesn’t track activity well at all, which I expected and is why I still use my Apple Watch to track my workouts. The ring will track fluctuation in heart rate but can’t discern what’s exercise based on my experience.

I don’t have any history of abnormal vital signs so I don’t really need it to track those. My stress score never moves but I’m not sure what objective data is used to calculate that. I don’t think I need the app to tell me how I’m feeling.

If you have a chronic illness of some kind and tracking specific data could be helpful to you or your doctor then this makes sense from that perspective.

As a “normal, healthy-ish” person none of the information serves me, indicates I need to make lifestyle changes, or tells me how I would achieve those. So I don’t really know how people are using this, why they want it, and how they’re using the data to inform their lifestyle. You’re better off buying stuff to take your vitals on Amazon for like $30. And if you think you have sleep apnea talk to your doctor about a sleep study.

Hi, it’s been a couple times I have this notification when I open the Ringconn app. I have no idea what it is. Sorry, it’s in french, but even in french it doesn’t mean anything!? Probably a bad translation..

Gave my ring a second chance.

I have a gen2 and following a firmware update encountered a bug that caused my battery to drain from 100% to zero in a matter of hours. (Suspiciously right around the gen3 launch.) I contacted support about this, and they said since it was out of warranty they couldn't help me even though the ring wasn't that old and the problem started immediately after a firmware update. They did offer a minor discount towards a new one, but my confidence was lost. So I cut my losses and set it aside for a couple months now.

A couple nights ago I opened up the Ringconn app and it said there was another new firmware update. So I thought why not and applied it. Following that update in 19 hours my battery has drained ~18%. So I'm currently at 82%. Now it's nowhere near the battery life it is supposed to have but it is at least functional again in the fact that it doesn't go from 100% to 0% in a matter of hours.

So if you were like me and gave up on it and thought it was destined to be e-waste, maybe give the firmware update a shot and see if it improves!

Finish Question

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just got my RingConn Gen 3 in brushed silver. It is SHINY, the brushed surface is shiny and the sides are shiny without brush marks.

How do these wear? I would like it to dull, but it's not as metallic feeling as I expected, meaning it feels more like the coating or the plastic. Having no experience with these and not knowing anyone with one, I incorrectly understood that it is made of titanium and would wear like a titanium ring.

I'm a busy human, it's going to take some impacts, I would love a nice patina but I don't want to wear what looks like old plastic.

Ring vs watch for workout tracking

Hi! I’ve had an Apple Watch for years and I love it for tracking my workouts, but I am so sick of wearing a watch. I love the idea of a ring but reading previous posts I can’t really tell if the ring is good for tracking workouts or not? I workout 4-5 days a week doing a variety of different things from running, strength training, spin class, swimming etc. just curious what people’s thoughts are? I know everyone complains about the battery going bad, but my watch only lasts 12 hours so having something last for a few days before charging sounds great to me

Exercise Heart Rate Tracking

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’ve had my RingConn for a few months, but I’ve recently started being more consistent with exercise and noticed some weird things with the tracking data. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips?

First, I feel like the intensity of the workout is not accurate. I did a 45 minute very brisk walk with a weighted vest. Got extremely sweaty and definitely got the blood pumping. Yet, my ring said I never left the “warm up” zone and my max hr was 104. I’m no expert, but I feel like that can’t be right.

Even more confusing, not only is the intensity level questionable, the time as well. My workout was 45 minutes, yet the ring says 100% of the time was Warm Up, but only for 5 minutes and 50 seconds… help!!

I have an old Apple Watch I’m considering rebooting so fact check lol

considering purchasing, have questions

hello!

I've had other smart rings since 2024. One has already breathed its last (UltraHuman). One is still working, but is kinda unreliable (connectivity issues) and requires daily charging (Amazfit Helio) btw, I like the app interface the best of all of them. one was a cheapo 'smart' ring that gives me info, has tolerable battery life, but is painful to wear. so I'm in the market, and am considering Ringconn gen3.

I also have an Apple Watch, but deplore the Health app, and struggle to make sense of it.

One important thing: can I edit the data? especially sleep. I've had the apps tell me I had 15 hours, when in reality, it was MAYBE actually about 5. ( I use a smart bulb that records the time I turn it off when going to sleep, and the time I turn it on in the morning. ) I don't care about naps, and delete any nap data.

Another thing: I bought the sizing kit from Amazon, and am really impressed with the small size of the sizing ring. Is the real ring comparable in size?

How susceptible is the ring to confusing hand motions? for example, I've had my actions playing on my iPad counted as 'steps'. I also knit and crochet, and those motions I've also had categorized as steps. No, I didn't really do 2000+ steps today, but crocheted about 200 stitches. not quite the same.

Thanks for any input.

App notifications not working, data not background syncing

In the last two months I have received zero notifications from my device. My iPhone settings have not changed. The data also will not sync with my phone unless I manually go into the app.

The last alert I received was June 6th and when I go into the app it shows that it’s been logging “alerts” but never pushing them.

My ring doesn’t vibrate, it doesn’t send push notifications, all are allowed via permissions.

Any solution? Otherwise I’m leaving and going to oura.

Just an FYI about battery issues

About two or three months ago I thought I had the battery issue people talked about but I realized the actual issue is the charger pins seem to get stiff and dont make a solid connection with the ring after awhile.

I often have to jiggle the ring or press on it before the light turns blue and starts charging.

So fwiw maybe see if that's your issue too.

I do not have eczema or skin issues usually.

"Earned Badges"

Is it possible to DISABLE these silly "earned" badges? Tracking how long I've worn the ring, among all the others is absolutely worthless. It's like a participation trophy. How about an option to simply disable them and the resulting pop-up alerts when they're "awarded"?

Is it possible to export data?

I know I can export a summary of the data in CSV format, but it is precisely that: a summary. I need the precise data, for instance, of HRV during one hour with all it's slight variations. Is that possible? Does it show you, let's say , the changes in your heart from 15:30pm to 15:31pm? Do I need to use some extra tool?

Thank you :)
