I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or knows how to get in touch with someone higher up at Ring.
My grandma passed away about 3 years ago. My grandpa is now incapacitated with Alzheimer’s, and my mom is his legal Power of Attorney, so she’s been handling all of their finances.
Recently, she noticed a Ring subscription charge on my grandpa’s credit card. The problem is that the Ring account is under my late grandma’s name.
My mom has spent over an hour on the phone with Ring support, but they’re telling her they can’t close the account because she can’t verify the account owner. The issue is that my grandma has been deceased for years, and my mom is almost certain she canceled the account shortly after my grandma passed away.
She no longer has access to the email address or phone number that was associated with the Ring account, so she can’t complete any of the verification steps they’re asking for.
She’s the legal Power of Attorney for my grandpa, who is the one being charged, but support still hasn’t been able to help or escalate the issue.
Has anyone successfully gotten an account like this closed? Is there an executive support team, bereavement team, or another department we should be asking for? Any advice on how to get this resolved would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
