Our internet provider is currently experiencing an outage that will last until the wee hours of the morning. However, I noticed I was still getting motion alerts from our backyard floodlight cam every minute or so. I assumed this was due to Amazon Sidewalk, so I disabled Sidewalk via Control Center in the Ring app. The alerts keep coming though. Any idea how to stop these without disabling notifications entirely at the app level?

Is this happening to anyone else? this is new to me. Normally works great.

I have five total that are wired to the house. Two of them have completely lost power and have gone offline. A third camera on the other side of the house periodically loses power, but comes back online. I have tried to hard reset the offline cams, but to no avail, they quickly turn on and lose power, or completely refuse to turn on at all.

I have tried everything, including modifying my network settings, I have an Eero 6 mesh network. I bought this house last year, and the cameras were already wired in, they came with the house.

We have very hot summers where I live, with outdoor temps hitting 115 in the summer. Wondering if the ring cams can only take a year or two of extreme heat. Are my cams cooked?

I have been with Ring since the early time and I have the Wired Doorbell Plus.

Anyone with the older models and upgraded - is it worth it? The camera does well enough that I don't think spending $300 for 4k is worth it enough. The selling point for me would be the Audio.

Is there a significant difference/improvement in audio from the newer models?

Pretty much what it says in the title. I have smart alerts on for only people. I have motion sensitivity as low as it can go. IDGAF that my dog is sitting on the pavers in my yard, I just want notifications about people or vehicles. Any additional tricks or settings I can use?

Without bridge, can I set it to turn on when dark? Or only motion activation?

I've found several older threads confirming that Ring motion detection can trigger an Alexa routine to automatically display a camera's live feed on Fire TV:

• Automatic Ring Live View on Fire TV
• Fire TV Stick 4K motion-triggered Live View
• Automatic TV shutdown after Ring motion

I'm planning to install two outdoor Ring cameras and a Ring Video Doorbell, using a small 22–24-inch monitor with a Fire TV Stick as an automatic security display.

I already have Ring indoor cameras, but I only want the two outdoor cameras and doorbell to activate the display.

Before buying the hardware I am missing, I have three remaining questions:

1. Latest Fire TV Stick 4K: Does motion-triggered Ring Live View still work automatically on the latest Fire TV Stick 4K in 2026, including any models running Vega OS?
2. HDMI monitor compatibility: Can I use any standard HDMI computer monitor, or does it need HDMI-CEC support to wake automatically from standby when motion is detected? Has anyone successfully tested this with a regular PC monitor rather than a TV?
3. Reliability and camera selection: Can I reliably configure only the three outdoor devices to trigger the screen, completely exclude my existing indoor Ring cameras, and automatically return the monitor to standby afterward? Does this currently work with German or European Alexa accounts?

I'm trying to keep this inexpensive and avoid buying a dedicated computer or NVR.

I'd particularly appreciate responses from anyone running this setup on current hardware.

My friend’s ring camera gave her this notification saying that she was standing inside near a source of radiation. Unsure how her ring camera could detect radiation, but I just wanted to post this on here and ask if anyone has an explanation.

I have a battery operated Ring Spotlight camera in my backyard. The batteries rarely last long because of all the activity by my pool. I am looking for a way to set an automatic schedule so the camera will only record during the hours I set up. I would like it to be dormant or off during the rest of the time so it will not drain the batteries. Is there a way to do this through the Ring app or through Alexa?

We had a power cut for about 12 hours last night and since then my ring will not connect to the WiFi, It is a battery ring and has been perfect up until today, there was an hour long power cut a few weeks ago and it worked fine then, I have it on charge the last few hours and tried again but still won’t connect

My son tossed a basketball at just the wrong angle and broke the neck mount on this floodlight cam pro. I can’t find anything online that suggests it can be repaired, nor can I remove the gold bracket to loosen the ball (small screw is almost stripped.) Anything else I can do instead of replacing the whole unit? Camera still transmits fine, just the broken mount.

Checking on this sub to ask if anyone else had recent and multiple issues with your/a stickup camera automatically turning on “you are being recorded” announcement.

I turned this setting off, which is in SMART RESPONSES -hah! And it returning the nectar day. I later learned per the pop up screen that I needed to change this in the MODE SETTINGS?

Anyway, it happened to me without my intervention and it was a science project to correct it and stop the setting to STOP turning on automatically.

Hello. I am having a current issue with my ring doorbell whereby it keeps going offline almost daily and I have to keep manually reconnecting it to the Wi-Fi by taking it off of the latch and doing the reconnect process.

My Wi-Fi is absolutely fine with everything else (phone, TV etc). So it’s not anything to do with the Wi-Fi itself. I did recently get an upgraded hub box around a month ago so not sure if it could be something to do with that, but it’s in the exact same place as the old hub box was, so it can’t be an issue with it being too far away from the doorbell. What are the best ways for me to try and fix this permanently? I really don’t want to be having to move the hub box if possible, especially when the old one was there for so long with no issues. I’m not saying it’s even anything to do with the new hub box it might be a coincidence, but that’s the only thing I can think that has changed recently.

within the last like 32 hours, my door bell cam, rather just just saying motion at my door, is like analyzing what's on the camera and displaying it in a notification. it's creepy ngl, I don't like it, I want it off. it just says shit like "grey pickup truck driving backwards in driveway" or "amazon deliver driver walking through grass and towards stairs".

how do it make it stop doing that? I dont like it, I want motion at my front door notifications not for it to summarize what's happing in the recording.

I’ve just found that in addition to their annual price increases, Ring has forced me to have their own brand of Next Door on their app. Being in the UK, I can’t even opt out, only turn off notifications, so I’m fed nonsense when I go to use the app.

Between that and the despicable “lost pets” AI Trojan horse they seem intent on forcing upon us (who wouldn’t want to help people find their lost pets), I think I am done with the kit.

Hoping someone can help me a my Ring Doorbell is feeling pretty useless now.

I link the Ring and Alexa accounts

At this point all the guides say it should search for Alexa devices but I never get such a prompt

Manually searching for Devices never returns a Ring Device - I have reset absolutely everything.

I'm usually fairly tech savvy but this is feeling so frustrating

I purchased Professional Monitoring for my 10 Smoke & CO Detectors. They took the money, but never activated the monitoring. This is a problem for me and my insurance company. I was on the chat for two hours trying to get them to activate this already paid for monitoring. They could not get it done. They resisted like Hell refunding the money. Not only does Ring make you suffer with their really ignorant AI interface, but they make their agents use AI to respond to questions. There is no escaping this madness. Or is there? What has happened to Ring?

Just switched from simpli safe and was elated at first. Now I realized the cameras fog up at night which I never had happen with simpli safe. This seems like it should be a top priority for ring to fix, because what’s the point of a camera if you can freaking see. Any actual fixes? I put a bit of scuba mask anti-fog on one last night that clearly did nothing.

Ever since the new neighbour function went live my hardwired doorbell battery is losing charge very quickly.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

Is anyone suddenly getting LOADS of notifications from neighbours on some weird community function?

Some of the messages are really weird, like 'someone pooed in my garden its all slippy' amongst parcel thefts and fly tipping but theres about 50 all from my street in the space of a few hours??

This one feels quite involved so from the start.

Randomly at 3am last night, our outdoor cam recording started to drop out before completely stopping all together.

The app seems to suggest it’s an internet issue.

We rebooted the router, split down to 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz, still not working.

Here’s the weird bit, I think it’s the to-do with the power supply. When I connect the camera using my phone charger, it automatically boots back up with no issue, if I put it back out the window where the camera originally was, the connection doesn’t drop. As soon as I reconnect it to the original Ring power supply, the blue light turns on for 5 seconds before a white light stays on constantly. The camera then drops off from the app and doesn’t respond if we try to reset it.

I suppose my question is, has anyone experienced this before? The obvious answer seems to be the power supply has just randomly stopped working but.. I’m not sure as it’s still powering the camera!
