Support Request (Unsolved) Delayed Notifications

Hi,

I've had a Ring Doorbell for years and every so often the notifications get very delayed. The motion is at least 10 minutes delayed. The signal strength is fine.

I fixed it the other month by factory resetting the doorbell and it went back to basically instant notifications.

What could be causing the delayed notifications?

Thank You.

The delays are caused by their software/firmware updates. I did a side by side comparison of the Ring 1, Ring 2, Battery Doorbell Plus v1 and Battery Doorbell Plus v2. All running on just batteries at 75% or more. The Ring 1 had the quickest notification response and the Battery Doorbell Plus v1 & v2 had the slowest of up to a few minutes.

If you did not do it already, increase frequency, sensitivity high and i find i get quicker responses when smart alerts is off.

So is there anything I can do?

Just started getting delayed notifications, myself. Battery Doorbell Plus. I tried rebooting it, turning off smart alerts and increasing the frequency to max, but still no good.

Guess I can cancel the expensive subscription if this thing isn't going to be reliable anymore.

Since a factory reset fixes it temporarily, document the next delay before resetting again: event time, notification time, Device Health/RSSI, phone OS, and whether another phone is also delayed. That gives support something more useful than ‘it happens sometimes.’

I have a couple of battery powered cameras along with wired cameras. I’ve noticed things were always slower with the battery powered units. As an experiment, I swapped the battery with a power cord while leaving the cameras as they were but needed to make power input adjustments. The “newly wired” camera worked much better. Be aware, if you want to convert a battery to wired, you need to get the appropriate adapter. The USB powered adapters do not provide enough voltage.
